That's it really. I'm CD 6, having red days, planning my BD-ing & wandering if anyone else is in the same boat as me...?

hi cats2 sorry to but in and dont want to step on anyones toes but i read on another thread that douching with bicarb isnt very good for you, something to do with the acidity i think.
Good luck :)

3catstoo · 30/03/2006 14:51

hi again,

I'm a bit too squeemish to do anything like that. Sounds a bit fiddly too!
Good luck with the bicarb though Brilmum.
I think if I were to get pregnant 'accidentally' DH would be fine and would just deal with it. I've not had to think about these things before so wouldn't have a clue. It's not like I'm on the pill and can just 'forget' to take it.
Any devious methods/suggestions would be most gratefully received. I am at that point now where I will do anything for another baby. That would be it then. A nice even number. If I were to get pregnant I too would quite like another boy. I have 2 girls and a boy at the moment.

Hi Ladies

Well AF arrived at beginning of last week. I've decided not to test again this month, but if i have no sucess will try testing nxt month & book with GP.

3catstoo did your appointment come through yet? (Sorry if i have missed it was full of cold last week & only skimmed through.

I hope everyone is ok

3catstoo · 30/03/2006 19:44

Hi Jag, good to see you again. Sorry about AF.
My appt is on 4th May. Pains are getting worse and I'm now getting the 'spotting after AF aswell as a week before. Not much fun. I'm sure my body thinks it's time for the menopause already. My mum and her 3 sisters all went through it and had hysterectomies by the time they were 38. My mum was the eldest to have it done at 38. I'm 31 and am the eldest female of this generation so it looks like I'm set to follow suit. Perhaps that's why I'm feeling so desperate for another baby when my body is telling me it's time out!
Have to wait and see what the Gyny says. Hopefully I'm wrong and it will be easy to put right.

JAG123 · 01/04/2006 17:56

Hi 3catstoo

I hope its not early menopause, hopefully it may be a hormone imbalance or something that can be corrected. Early menopause is my fear too. I was told there was a 70% chance that i wouldn't be able to conceive as the chemotherapy could cause ovarian ablation sending the body into the menopause. I don't think that this has happened to me as my periods have continued to be reg. However the last few months my afs have been so light i am wondering if this could be the start. I really need to go to GPs but i'm not sure yet whether i want to know or if a least this way i still have some hope.

We've got to think positive

3catstoo · 03/04/2006 10:43

Hi Jag,
I found some 'home menopause' testing kits on Accessdiagnostics.com.
They test for pre menopause. I haven't ordered any but was wondering whether I should to put my mind at rest. Not sure how accurate they are as I don't know anyone who has used them.
I think it is worth finding out so that you don't live in hope.
Lets hope that we are both just thinking the worst and will be pleasantly surprised.

BrilMUM · 12/04/2006 15:54

Hi ladies.i'm back to ask more advice. am really confused and don't know what to do with myself this month Angry . As you know i didn't get the egg signs last month and i was really hoping i would get them this month but NOTHING again. I have gone through three packs of digital ovulation kits and no sign of ovulation. What is going on with my body. Really really want to be pregnant. Does this mean i have stopped ovulating Sad ????? Has anyone else experienced this b4???

Any comments & advice would be very useful.

JAG123 · 12/04/2006 18:48

Hi All

Sorry about no ov signs Brilmum. Have you been trying long? Perhaps it might be worth going to GPS & see if they will send you for blood tests.

3Catstoo - Not sure about the home tests for menopause prob better to get blood test done by GP.

Well i finally bit the bullet & went to the GPs today & she is going to refer me to fertility specialist. I'm just bit nervous about it all. I think AF is due any moment as keep getting cramps on & off & in a foul mood. I think i will start doing the tests again so i will be able to monitor for when i get my appointment. I hope it works ok have been pressing m button just not testing so going to carry on with 8 tests.

I hope everyone else is ok. We have all gone very quiet on here lately. I have to battle with DH as he likes to link playstation up & play online.

3catstoo · 18/04/2006 13:28

Glad you've been to see the doc Jag, it's better to get any diagnosis sooner rather than later.

Let me know how the monitor works. I'm not testing now for a while. at least until after my Gyny appt on 4th May.
Af arrived today, CD 26!!! Had 4 days of spotting before that too. Just want to know what's going on now.
I'm hoping that once I find out what's wrong that I will be able to talk DH around. Assuming all will be put right and I can conceive, of course.
I'm hoping the 'well as I can it would be ashame to put it off' method of badgering him will work. Listen to me being all positive about it, I haven't even seen the gyny yet, I'm going nuts!!

Hope all is well with you Brillmum. Any luck with the Ov tests yet?

JAG123 · 18/04/2006 18:49

Hi 3catstoo

I know what you mean about just wanting to know whats going on. AF arrived for me yesterday on CD27 which is about right. But i have thought it was going to come since last week lots of cramping etc. I hadn't been checking my dates so i didn't think anything of it. I got a bit excited when AF didn't show then disappointed when i realised i wasn't due till today. I don't know whether you are better off knowing your dates or not. But i have ordered tests so i can report to docs when appointment arrives.

Keep working on your DH he might surprise you. I'm dreading when i do get my appointment in case they want to test him too. I don't think that will go down too well.

I hope everyone else is ok

3catstoo · 02/05/2006 10:34

Hi All,

How's everyone this week?
Any news on your appointment Jag?
I have my appt with Gyny on Thursday. Not sure what to expect though.
CD 15 for me. Not using Persona this month. Well yesterday I did as I had a test left from a previous pack. I though I might be Ov'ing so decided to use the test to check. It just gave me a red though, no egg. Waste of test really. I'm just pressing m button from now on, no testing.
DH still resisting with an endless list of reasons not to have a 4th.

Hope all is well with everyone else.

JAG123 · 03/05/2006 14:36

Hi 3Catstoo

I hope that everything goes well with your appointment on Thurs.

I haven't heard anything yet. I started with my tests again this month & everything seemed to work fine. Only diff is that i got a few more green days instead of red which i thought should happen the other way around. Got egg sign on cd13 as usual. Only one problem DH although he's not as keen as me for another baby he seemed happy enough to go along, but now when i mention ov time he says he's not in the mood & i am putting pressure on him. I have been very careful to make sure that we bd at different times of the month so he wouldn't feel like this. He only seems to refuse when i tell him i have egg sign. It wasn't too bad when i didn't know exact time. We always seem to manage a couple of days before so i suppose there is a little hope but it hasn't worked so far.
Sorry about the rant.
Have you tried giving your DH a list of plus reasons to go ahead. Does he understand how important it is for you? I think thats what i am going to work on.

Anyway Take Care
Let us know how you get on with app.
J Smile

3catstoo · 05/05/2006 14:26

Hi Jag,
ranting is good. A problem shared and all that.
I do my fair share I know.
Sorry to hear about your DH. Perhaps keep testing but don't tell him where you are in your cycle. If he's happy to go along then let him stay oblivious.

I saw the Gyny, he was lovely. I met him when I was pg the first time as I had a low placenta.
He seemed to think it was more likely to be endometriosis and not fibroids. My mum had both so I guess I was in line for one if not both.
I have to have a scan to rule out fibroids and then have a laparoscopy to check for endo.
I 've heard so many conflicting stories about endo and fertility though. Some say it's good to get pg as it can cure the endo but others say they had real trouble conceiving. Who knows.
I'm jumping the gun a bit though. Have to wait for the scan now.

Good luck with your DH.
I might try making a list, thanks for that idea.
Take care
3cats.

JAG123 · 14/05/2006 09:34

Hi 3catstoo

I'm glad your appointment went ok. Hopefully the scan will give you an answer. I don't know much about either complaint so i don't know how they affect getting pregnant sorry i can't be of more help. At least it doesn't look like early menopause.

I know you are right about DH & not telling him when i get the egg signs. I think it just makes it worse because i know its time & worry if we don't bd.AF arrived today so here we fo again for another month. Still haven't had my appointment through yet.

Take Care J Smile

trace2 · 14/05/2006 11:26

well persona not worked for me this month, no egg sign, then used op sticks got a surge on day 17

BrilMUM · 15/05/2006 13:12

Hi ladies ..am back again. I've not had any luck so far. Really need your help. My cycle has jumped from 30 days to 36-38, therefore Persona is not picking up the LH surge becase i'm ovulation later than b4. How do i reset Persona so that it tests later in the cycle rather than from day 14 like it used to b4. I always thought that Persona works with ur cycle but obviously not. Is persona designed for people with 28 day cycle?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

trace2 · 15/05/2006 18:11

BrilMUM to found persona no good if you ovulte late, so next month am using opk stick alone

JAG123 · 15/05/2006 18:34

Hi Ladies

I'm sorry i have no idea about Persona if you ov later. I recall something in the instructions about it being no good if your cycles are less than 25days or more than 35 (i think).

Sorry I'm not much help but just wanted to say Hi

J Smile

3catstoo · 16/05/2006 10:04

Hi all,

Brillmum, Persona does not work for irregular cycles. I have the same problem. I haven't tested this month as it's a waste of money. Still pressed the M button though. It can only cope with regular cycles of less than 35 days and more than 25.
HTH.

AF arrived today.
Have a scan booked for 8th June. Hopefully it will come around quickly.

Take care.

3catstoo · 05/06/2006 14:13

Hi Jag,
Hope you had a good holiday. Did you go anywhere nice?

I'm a bit nervous about the scan since being told it will be an internal. I haven't had one of those since I miscarried in Oct 1998. I guess the circumstances are different now but still it worries me.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Is that the end of your treatment now or will you still have to continue?

xxxx

JAG123 · 05/06/2006 20:28

We had a lovely time thanks. We went to Dawlish in Devon.

Its understandable that you would feel nervous they aren't the most comfortable. I think that the best thing you can do is try to relax (easier said than done i know).

I'm hoping that it will be the end of my treatment but the pet scan showed some small cell activity in my other breast. We are hoping that it is nothing to worry about as these scans are quite new & very sensitive so they show everything. I had a mammogram & ultrasound a couple of weeks ago but they want to repeat ultrasound on Friday to double check. Hopefully it will be nothing.

Have you had any luck with bringing your DH around?

3catstoo · 05/06/2006 23:11

Dawlish is nice. I went there as a child camping with my parents and grandparents.

Good Luck with your scan on Friday.

No, DH is still not convinced. I'm not giving in just yet though. Maybe once I'm sorted out I'll push him a bit harder. At the moment I'm a bit half hearted because I know I need to make sure everything is as it should be, health wise.
DH is very busy at work and is also involved in our village hall committee, which takes up alot of time. So life seems to whizz by and he's just stressed about the workload and the tiredness.
He had to go to bed for an hour on Saturday afternoon as we were going out in the evening and he didn't think he would last.
I hadn't realised how tired he was and gave him a hard time about it. I sympathise now.
If he isn't working really late then he has his tea then starts on the village hall stuff. It's the kind of thing that needs to be done by a retired person rather than someone with a full time job and a family to contend with.

JAG123 · 06/06/2006 19:24

There never seems to be enough hours in day does there. Is the community work something that will ease off or is it always hectic. One of the reasons my DH isn't as keen on another baby is because he is always tired. He works at Landrover in the factory so its quite hard physically he comes home shattered too.

Like you said though we need to get ourselves sorted out physically first anyway.

I still haven't had an appointment through for fertility doc yet i'm wondering if my gp has sent referal off.

Take Care
