Hi All

Thought i would just pop on to say hello as i haven't posted for a while. I have stuck to what i have said & not checked Persona after pressing m button & not done any tests either. So i'm not sure what day i'm on but think i should be oving any time now.

I hope everyone else is ok & Hello & welcome to all the newbies Smile

I am thinking about discontinuing the Persona. According to OBGYN and ultrasound, I am going to ovulate today or tomorrow. Did a test yesterday and this morning, and I just have a red light. Last month the ov sign turned up on two days after ovulation, and it looks as if it is going to do the same thing this month. V odd.

Can anyone give me any advice
First month using persona i got a egg symbol on cd19 and cd20 my cycle usual runs from 28-29days.Does this mean that if i egg is fertilized it want have enough time to implant as my LP lengh is only short.
Worried as been ttc for 23mths and starting to give up hope,
Any advice is much appricated

A question for you.....
You'll think I'm cmpletely nuts after reading this.
When is the earliest you can do a pg test after conception and what is the best test to use?

Why I'm asking - this is rather ridiculous and I'm totally clutching at straws - is that on day 16 I got my egg sign, DH went out after work and got totally sloshed, came home at 2.30am and (as always in a drunken state) was very randy and would not take no for an answer. I was so asleep that I didn't have it in me to fight. Anyway the condom broke in a big way !!!
Here I am after being told at 3am (ish)I couldn't have planned it better myself and can't believe my luck. Very silly I know.
I'm sure I won't be pg but am desperate to know anyway.
I would be so excited but DH would be mortified. I'm sure he would come around to the idea though, having no choice in the matter really.
Usually AF arrives about 11 days after egg sign.
That will be the end of next week. Do I have to wait until the day of my period to test?
You'd think after having 3 children I would know this but I've always managed to wait.
Can anyone help, please?

Eldestgirl, sorry to hear that Persona is not working for you. It does sound a bit strange that it detects surge after Ov.
What will you do now?
Keep us posted anyway.

Shezzer, I've no idea if that would eefect implantation.
I tend to have 10-11 days between first egg and AF arriving so would also be interested to know.

3catstoo: I think you do have to wait until the day your period is due, although I have heard of some earlier tests on the message boards here. They seem to be a bit unreliable though. At least you only have 11 days to wait. I usually have to wait until day 35.
Should have said that I am now on clomid. I don't think this should make a difference to the tests. Maybe it's just me and I release an egg quickly after a LH surge? Anyway, I have the egg sign on days 15 and 16, which do no coincide with my OBGYN's prediction based on ultrasound. Am feeling quite disheartened though. This is the 9th month of trying... only second cycle on clomid though.

Thanks Eldestgirl. I will wait until after AF due. I'm sure I'm not anyway but I feel that this is my last chance as DH is certain that there will be no more. I just want it to be soooo much. I will have to take up a new hobby to take my mind of having another baby.

hi all been ill ,but still did persona, well the blood tests say am not ovulating but i got a egg sign on day 11 and day 12,is that normal, amd is it really mean i have ovulated?
also what does two lines mean i only had two lines when i got the eggs signs and today.

Hi All

Just had a quick read through as full of cold & can't concentrate. It seems that none of us are having much luck at the moment. AF arrived today so the laid back approach isn't working either. Although i don't know how laid back i really am as its never far from my mind. I can't decide whether to do persona tests or not this month. I think its about time i went to the docs but i'm a bit scared of what they might find. At least this way theres hope.

I'm sorry about the AFs & funny ov readings hopefully things will start looking up for us all soon.

Hi ladies...am REALLY REALLY worried. didn't get egg signs on Persona this month & there is no sign of my periods. I am like a closkwork normally. Has any of you experienced this?

Any chance that you are pg?
How long is your cycle normally?
If your cycle changes slightly it's easy for Persona to miss LH surge.
Not much help sorry. Hope you get a result either way.

I hope you're feeling a lot better today.

If the blood test has shown you are not ovulating then I would believe that. These are far more accurate than persona etc. The problem with these kits is that they measure levels of LH. If the levels of LH you are producing are higher than normal then the kit is reading this excess level of hormone.

These kits also assume that women have one rise in LH every month - this is not true at all particularly in women who have hormonal imbalances like polycystic ovaries or its related syndrome. Both conditions are very common and can be treated by a gynaecologist if you were diagnosed with either.

Your GP needs to explain the results of the blood tests properly to you and when he's done that refer you on to a gynae.

hi MeerkatsUnite, i am waiting to go to gyny going on 10th april, gp just said the day 3 bloods was ok and day 19, show its very low saying i am not ovulating, i do still have peroids every 26 to 27 days , and told me to carry on with persona, as some moths i could ovulate, and its the first time i have had a egg on it, but i must had i have not had a rise in my temp, thats why i asked for some adivce.

i think i know myself that i havent (just hoping i had, been trying for 14 months now, and times running out, am 40 on first april.

thank you at least now i wont get my hopes up, even though, with me being ill only did it with dh once this month.

Am glad you are going to see the gynae next month.

I would unfortunately think that your day 3 is out of sync as well seeing that the later result showed no ovulation. Did you get a copy of the day 3?. If the doc did not comapre the levels of LH against that of FSH (both of these should have been tested) then the test is meaningless. Both levels need to be compared as they can look "okay" if only looked at separately. It is only when the two are compared that any imbalance is seen.

Its entirely up to you whether you carry on with the Persona or not but personally I would not use it any longer. You can get a rise in temp in the second half of your cycle when an egg has not been shed.

It is possible for your man to attend clinic with you next month?. I ask this as both of you will need to be seen anyway and he can also ask questions. The initial appointment with the gyane can be very nerve wracking so extra support is vitally important. Do write down anything you want this person well ahead of time - you do not want to come out of there thinking, "oh I should have asked about this".

thanks MeerkatsUnite, i have no idea if he compared them, and i dont have a copy, it was a locum i saw, as my own gp says at my age if it dont happen thats whats ment to be, ( i could change gp but it means delaying things) and yes my hubby is coming with me, i know i will need him there. and i dont think am going to carry on using person ,until am sorted it will save me £10 a month.

Hi Girls...as you know i have been using Persona for the last four months & had no prbolems.. However this month i did not ovulate & have missed my periods. Although i keep getting really bad stomach cramps. Also my temp is reallt high. Is this all normal. Please help very confused & just want to get PG. Bit scared this month as i have never missed a period before. Any advice would be great.

Trace is right, your temp will rise considerably of you are PG. My FPC nurse showed me a chart. I would maybe try a test.

CD 6 today and AF still lingering.
DH still not going with the idea of another baby.

Hi ladies...i'm still around. AF arrived on Saturday after i had my legs & bikini line waxed. Went for a shower & could see pools of blood. In a way i was gland as i wasn't prepared this month. So much has been going on. But am already prepared this month & want to be PG ASAP. I'm drinking gallons of grapefruit & taking Evening Primrose [3 a day]. Will be using the Bicarb douche to sway the odds. Will keep you updated.

What exactly does douching involve. Is it just bathing in some fluid other than water or is there more to it?
Are you still using Persona this month?

I need some miracle to persuade DH.
A friend of mine said 'you'll just have to have an accident'. She didn't enlighten me further so now I'm left wondering !!!

Hi 3catstoo...you just squirt some bicarb liquid into your vagina about half an hour b4 intercourse & it favours the boy sperm. Vinegar is for girls. Really want to be pregant this month - all prepared!

I am sure you can presuade you DH...men are weak! I know what ur friend is saying about accident but it's better if you plan it together, other you don't know how he might react. If you think he might be alright i'm sure there are ways to getting pregant.
