knitter good luck at scan xx
Nope i dont fancy cream in donuts either... and yuk to custard ones! I dont frequent train stations much these days, maybe thats why? They only really have costa/M&S/Waitrose on the motorway network Grin

Re the flight thing. tis a personal choice velvet i personally wouldnt! I flew to cyprus at 5 months pg and that was tough...upping and downing every 5 mins for a wee..I would talk to your carrier, I would also talk to your holiday insurer. (make sure you have cover for any pg related treatment you may need, as it costs the earth abroad) Ferry to france is my preference for this year with a 3 yo and a bump! A nice luxurious commodore cabin and DH and DS can romp about to their hearts content! well.. i say luxurious Confused Hmm...or camping in Devon Grin. Tis your choice, weigh up the pros and cons and listen to the advice available. I think the risks are much less during trimester two :)

And brian how are you ? Any top tips for us lately? Hope you are keeping well.

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/02/2011 15:04

tunnocks agree re robins pilot friend being lucky. Would be so nice to just skip this phase and be able to relax and enjoy being pg just a little bit..

Mind you when I read that story about the soldier who was serving frontline in Iraq/Afghanistan and didn't realise she was pg until 7 months did make me very Shock

Knitter I saw that story too! How???

As for my friend, I don't know how she did it both times. I wish I could be so laid back about erm, cycles and the like.

randomimposter · 21/02/2011 15:16

velvet just saw thing about flying. I flew to NYC when 10/11 weeks pg with DS. Didn't even occur to me that it might be a problem. But then didn't think anything was a problem in that pregnancy - the joy of preMC ignorance... Hmm

Velvetcu · 21/02/2011 15:21

arrggh tunnocks you have got me stressing coz I am 4+3 but my cb digi only said 1-2 weeks on Friday but yours said 2-3 Confused

nix would you not fly coz of the risks or just coz it's annoying?

good luck to scanners tomorrow - Dachs im sure both pups are fine :)

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/02/2011 15:22

Dachs you can get Krispy Kreme at Paddington - I know because I've done it myself. Not sure if I can describe it properly but it's in the shopping bit through the glass from where you come up from the tube platform into the station bit... I'm sure customer services will be able to point you in the right direction :)

And fx for your scan too :)

Had a massive argument with DH yesterday evening - actually told him that if he didn't grow up I would be through with the f*ing marriage. Then DS walked into the room and we did the thing of pretending it had never happened until DS was asleep when we had a really rather grown up discussion about everything that is making us both unhappy. We then had a lovely time cooking together - something we used to do a lot but haven't recently and then DH was perfect this morning - helped me with DS etc etc...

velvet I flew to Mauritius when 5 weeks pg with ds (same issue, booked holiday as ttc had taken a while). Only problem was I was bleeding on the way there - so horrid flight dashing to the loo thinking I was miscarrying. Then got ms on holiday at 7 weeks so flight back was horrible due to nausea. DS got his first telling off at 7+3 for making his mummy worry so much.

Haven't even thought about my booking in appointment. I won't for a while. All I know is I'm 6+2 today. No idea when I'll be 12 or 20 weeks, am deliberately not working it out. Will see what happens Friday and take it from there.

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow.

PinkFondantFancy · 21/02/2011 15:36

Just a quickie: velvet teacake I am going to say this only once.... STEP AWAY FROM THE CB DIGI. they have not the foggiest clue how far gone you are. If you don't believe me, look up the range of normal HCG at each week pregnant. It is huge and they overlap. How's it supposed to know where to put you? Seriously, dacha almost sent herself round the bend with those things-save yourself the stress!!!! Grin

If you're really worried, see if you can convince your GP to do a couple of blood tests to see the HCG rise.

I'll get back in my box again now.... As you were... Grin

PinkFondantFancy · 21/02/2011 15:39

Also dacha has an instructive story about how one of her little beans has clearly implanted quite a few days after the other. And mamap has a gestational age about a week behind where she was expecting it to be.

Just another couple more reasons to ignore the CB digi!!!

I'm going to start confiscating the evil CB digis at the door Grin They are the work of the devil, those things.

I think it's another mandatory thread entry criteria to pee on at least one and worry about it though we've all done it, let's not pretend we haven't Grin

I would happily fly anywhere until the point where it is not allowed; I reckon that sitting at my desk all day without moving is far more damaging. I suspect even now though the airline 'food' would make me boak.

Am going over to the Netherlands in April and maybe France in May to see relatives; am damned if I am going on the sicky ferry. :)

mrsrobinredbreast · 21/02/2011 16:09

Am sure flying is fine. I flew at 6 weeks with DD and went to see customers in France who served me raw meat (well steak) which I pushed round my plate then tried to hide under my knife and fork, like a child would. That was more stressful than flying!

Owl and Nix, going to France for our hols too. Though by "sicky" ferry, Owl. I like your attitude, I've been worrying that it wouldn't be the right thing to do. This pregnancy lark makes me find things to worry about, I swear!

DoubleDiffedDachs · 21/02/2011 16:19

I'm sure I don't know what you mean by that nudge owl I only used about ummmm....... Blush

mamapower · 21/02/2011 16:20

Hi all, been a busy bee!

Look what I missed Teacake yay! Mahoooosive congrat's hon and welcome, great to see you Grin Grin

I'm with Pink 100% step away from the digi's, they are great for confirming pg early on but other than that cause more angst than is necessary.

Velvet on the flying front, do what makes you comfortable. There is no reason to not fly in the first tri-mester, there is nothing about it that can harm you or bean, if in doubt talk it though with your GP/MW.

Nix Are you still happily munching rabbit food? I am currently trying to convince my body it needs fruit and salad and not crap... I just had an apple, small steps Grin

In my news, my boobs have got to comedic proportions but I just can't bring myself to get a mat bra until 12 weeks so just picked up some bra extensions in Jojo MB. Emoo was it you who posted the link for vests or something with inbuilt support? Could you re-post link... desperate times. also, nothing round my waste does up any more good by size 10 waist Sad , hello emergency shopping trip tomorrow! Finally Morning sickness is now all day sickness, but still managing to keep it down!

Waves to all

mamapower · 21/02/2011 16:21

x-posts, see owl is agrees too and is so right, the work of the devil! Grin

Grin sicky ferry is great when you have to occupy a child. Never attempted it pg though! uh oh...

velvet i would probably go short haul. I read up before i flew in pg 1 and what i read advised me not to fly in tri 1. (hence we booked a jolly in tri 2) having said that, like jolls says.... pre-MC worry days! That pg was totally carefree! No MC history, no bleeding, no knicker checking. Thats just what i would do velvet, others on here have differing opinions as to what is right for them. Like the eggs thing Grin

I would say do your research..and talk to your carrier and take it from there :)

I am not a great flyer anyway... any reason to avoid it :) My worry re flying was that flights have always fiddled with my cycle and i thought it may meddle with a burrowing baby iykwim?! probably nothing in it at all.... Grin

ooh i have just booked 3 days hol at Easter and that gives me 10 days off over the bank hols FAB!

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/02/2011 16:36

tunnock love the idea of a BFP holiday - that gets my vote

IreneHeron · 21/02/2011 16:38

Hiya All,

Sorry for very short post. Just a wave really as I've had a really bad headache today. I'm sure it's caffeine withdrawal symptoms. I've been unbearable to live with today, had rows with DH because I've a sore head and feel sick and tired.

Forgot to go to the doctor's today too.

Off for a rest now, but DS will probably start poking me and sitting on my head until I play with him.

mamapower · 21/02/2011 16:40

Grin yes teacake I am sure work is the last thing you want to do right now, ooooh so exciting. I am 7+6 (gestational age - I am special because of late ov, my lmp would put me at 9+1 today!). I've had 2 scans and saw the little heartbeat and am now officially discharged from the care of EPAU... got my booking in apt on fri. Have you been to doc's yet, are you going to ask for an early scan?

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/02/2011 16:47

heron big hug... FWIW I'm a big beliver in water making headaches better....
