hippychick66 · 21/03/2011 22:54

Watching peep show and thinking of you diege - it's almost unbearable to watch Shock

hairy, hang in there sweetie. doesn't seem long ago that you had your first mc - can't believe you've had to go through it twice more. how do they measure your egg reserves? all sounds very interesting and you seem down but not out.

lol - i did laugh at your sorry did you say eggs - what? -ha ha comment. 45 is nothing, my dear - says the woman who is 44 and a half!!! Wink

lou - thinking of you and really hoping this is all gonna keep going well for you.

tina - thanks - we have all recovered from our traumatic experience and ready to move to 1950's england - eg. IOW Grin

lol - was it you who suggested i test? - no way! I'm only a week into the 2 week wait and will not be testing yet. Ask me again next week Smile

hopefulgum · 21/03/2011 23:27

Yes,Hippy, you are right. I know I am naughty testing so early, but I like to prepare mentally for the RTD.Of course that's just "bull" because when it's early and a bfn I still remain hopeful til RTD arrives! Silly I know, but it's hard to break a habit of years.

I had a lovely temp jump today too.And feel very warm this morning (which may be because I'm overdressed) and finally my boobs have some tenderness - but it's only mild...

Hairy it is good to hear from you.I'm so sorry you've had three miscarriages. How awful. I hope the doctors can get some answers for you, and you can have your take home baby soon.

I want to catch up with everyone else too, but I'm sorry I've not allowed myself enough time, and I have to run. Will pop in later.Smile

TinaO99 · 22/03/2011 08:26

morning all - feeling all gloomy this morning as like a fool I did a test last night which was negative Saddon't know why I thought it would be otherwise, just want my af to arrive now and then hopefully next month I'll ovulate again, so sick of seeing just highs on the damned monitor! At least the sun's shining this morning which has to cheer you up (a little)

lolfactor · 22/03/2011 10:02

So sorry, Tina. Dry your eyes in the sunshine with me.

TMI alert Put down the yoghurt.

I'm a bit worried, actually. The cramping woke me up at about 5am. Thought AF had arrived around 7. Now, at 10am, all I've got is thick dark brown sticky stuff. Euch. And cramping and nausea. This isn't an ectopic, is it? Not enough HCG for a BFP, yet some symptoms and dark brown goo?

No shoulder pain, but then I'm due on today, so I wouldn't expect it. I wondered if it was left-over lining from the MC last month but the Dr said all sounded like it was clear (I had a complete MC - yes, I did see the pregnancy, which was quite sad).

Do you think the floodgates will open? I'm hoping they will - treacle-like tar doesn't seem like a good sign to me.

Thoughts?

lolfactor · 22/03/2011 10:06

You've got to laugh. This is what came up on ehealth when I googled it. Honestly, it's enough to drive you to drink. I live the flippant 'take care' at the end! Grin

^The various causes of brownish discharge are hypothyroidism, cervical dysplasia, cervical polyps, cervicitis, vaginitis, cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance, genital ulcers, STDs and stress. You can discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist as on net and without examining it is difficult to give a confirmed opinion. A PAP smear and a STD panel must be done t.
Hope this helps. Take care!^

minmooch · 22/03/2011 12:36

Hello ladies - can I join you all.

I am Min - 44 on Friday (arggggghhhhh) and just had my 8th miscarriage 6 weeks ago. I have 2 lc from my first marriage. From my 2nd marriage we had 3 miscarriages, fell pregnant with id twin daughters but sadly they were stillborn at 21 weeks due to IUGR and TTTS. We have since had 5 miscarriages.

Af arrived yesterday and I am starting to take 100mg clomid today. Although I get pg my consultant thinks some of my miscarriages are due to age. The clomid will help to produce more eggs, hopefully some of which are good so it wont take as long to get pg. Running out of time and energy so lets hope for a viable pg soon please.

Anyone else on clomid? Any top tips?

Wishing you all much luck.

hairylights · 22/03/2011 13:18

Hi Hippy and Hopeful good to 'see' you both.

Yes, three has been hard

Pregnant April 10 - miscarriage resolved June 10 but had been very low hcg so not 'really' pregnant. Was a pregancy of unknown location, suspected ectopic

Pregnant again Sept 10 - Saw heartbeat at 7 weeks, missed miscarriage detected at ten weeks in November (baby was size of 8.5 weeks) - had to have erpc (twice!) First ERPC completely failed, no tissue removed!

Pregnant again January - pregnancy not progressing, egg sac of 1cm detected at 7 weeks :(

Am now waiting to be referred for tests for recurrent miscarriage 'you have to have three, to get tested' aaaarggggghhhh!

Hippy the test I have had ws an AMH test, which is still experimental and only 70% proven ... so it's very much an estimate. I'm just over the moon that it did not come back 'low'.

I've also had day 3 FSH/LH test done (also privately) and am waiting for that result.

I'm seeing a consultant on Tuesday via the NHS - and hope to be referred to the recurrent MC clinic to be tested for causes.

My sis had 'low' but was successful first time with ivf aged 40 (well, a month under) and her lovely son is now 12 weeks :) :) :)

hairylights · 22/03/2011 13:21

Hi Min. So, so sorry for all your losses, I don't know how you cope. Three has been devastating for me.

Sounds like we are in a similar boat, but I've not yet been 'diagnosed'.

Been told my mc's could be due to anything and not to assume age/egg quality.

Have you had recurrent MC tests? All the medica people seem to think I should keep trying - but on the other hand until I know if it's a 'womb environment' issue or an 'egg issue' it seems harsh to try and potentially put myself through that again.

hippychick66 · 22/03/2011 14:48

min I cannot begin to imagine how much pain you have been through or to understand how you keep going. You must be very strong or very determined or both. Hang around here with us and hopefully you will get your take home baby that you so rightly deserve. what is an lc? You said you had them from your first marriage. I'm guessing lovely children ??? Hmm

hairy I see what you mean now. I was wondering how they can possibly know how many eggs and what quality you have left hanging about at the back of your cupboards. Must be lovely to have a success story in the family but hard cos it probably makes you want it all even more. Lovely to see you back here again (although obviously would rather you were on the preggo threads).

hippychick66 · 22/03/2011 14:59

I have been approached by my reflexologist and asked if I want to sell 'FOREVER' products. They are quite expensive but I'm told they are all natural and last ages. I'm not keen to do it because I'm sure I couldn't even sell Fur coats to naked eskimos but just thought I'd ask... what do you think I should do?? Steer clear???

www.foreverliving.com/

AlbaDeTamble · 22/03/2011 16:19

Just a quick one, Lol, to reassure you, first AF after a MC often very painful and a lot heavier than usual (kind of a final clearout Sad) so what you're experiencing is probably fairly normal though horrid. In my experience it brought it all back again and was a depressing time. Hope that helps a little, didn't want to see your worries unanswered.

lolfactor · 22/03/2011 16:58

Thanks Alba. I was quite worried. I think you're right. That must be what's happening. The actual MC was a breeze compared to this. All that cramping - well, at least it's nature's way of providing me with a D and C. It would explain it. Let's hope it all goes soon.

minmooch · 22/03/2011 17:23

Hippy - lc living children - that's what we use on the SANDS forum - I guess all the abbreviations differ. Not sure if I am strong or stupid but if we don't keep trying there is then no chance.

Lol - my af seems to be much heavier too and really bad backache. Hopefully it's just a good clear out.

minmooch · 22/03/2011 17:27

Hairy - yes I have had every test going under a good recurrent miscarriage specialist. Until they can give me a reason why we can't have a happy ending we will keep trying. Although my dh is happy to have 2 step sons he would love to have a child call him Daddy. My heart breaks for him when he says things like that :-(

However, onwards and upwards - we have to find the strength from somewhere.

hippychick66 · 22/03/2011 19:04

lol sorry I didn't answer your question about the brown gloop. alba has shamed me by coming on and answering and I realised that I was too busy banging on about selling stuff. Sorry, honey. I hope it is natures way of clearing the decks - good luck for next month.

min I see, living children - makes sense. Big squeeze for your DH ((())) - blimey, he doesn't even know me Shock

diege - ok?? lou - ok?? nicole haven't 'seen' you for a while.

Hope all the other newbies are ok. Please forgive me if I don't name check you all - I can only remmeber about 4 people at a time (I sound like my mother).

italian how is the prize winning hamster??

Nothing to report here - BiscuitBiscuit's have begun being tender and bless them they do try to convince me that we've been successful but I know it means nothing. I'll start getting hopeful paranoid next week.

BeattieBow · 22/03/2011 19:17

Hello min sorry about all your losses. How old are your children? I am on clomid - but 50mg and this is my first month. now on cd18. I did ovulate a bit later than I normally do, (I am taking it for the same reason as you - I do ovulate, but this is to produce better eggs/more lining/a longer LP). I had to be scanned for this cycle and the nurse at the clinic said that later ovulation might mean a better quality of eggs. I also might have had 2 eggs released, which is a bit scary for me! I didn't have any symptoms of anything when I took the clomid (maybe a bit of nausea) - i think it is vision disturbance that is more of an issue. But i did have very bad cramping after ovulation which I then googled and seems quite normal. (didn't know whether it was ovulation so made dh dtd again!). Anyway, a few days to go to see if it worked.

hairy sorry you've had 3 miscarriages. I remember you joining the tighty whitey thread when I was there (possibly under a different name). Hope the testing helps. I have had a couple of early mcs since mine in Feb, but investigations haven't showed any reason for it. I'm trying clomid now.

gum sounds hopeful! lol don't google!!

tina sorry about your bfn - I know what you mean about just wishing it all over to get to the next swi time

Hippy you must be getting close to testing time now?

curly any news from you?

Hello Italian panashe Mitzi isaboo muchlove lou" and diege and anyone else I've missed - but definitely not forgetting lia*

Oh go to V on sunday, but will taking an array of technology so will probably be logging on to tell you all about my bfp Wink and worrying about tummy bugs etc . I'll be nearly in the same time zone as you gum!

Diege · 22/03/2011 21:24

Just popping in quickly befoe bed - tough day, but looking forward to my bed. Welcome min Smile
Will post more tomorrow - still sick sick sick but getting through and counting down the days (does improve for me after 14 wks or so).
Which episode of the Peep Show did you watch Hippy? Grin

hippychick66 · 22/03/2011 21:55

BB I didn't realise you'd had more losses since the MC in feb. were they CP's - sorry I don't remember you announcing a BFP - so assume they were very early losses. Sad I hope you get a BFP on your hols. Do you know how to buy a preggo test there (remembers Bridget Jones trying to mime a preggo test in the film).

lou where are you? Ever since she got that flippin' Kindle she's never on here Wink.

lia any news??????

hippychick66 · 22/03/2011 21:58

diege sorry crossed posts with you. Sorry you're still sick but I guess if it suddenly stopped now you'd be more worried. It was the one where Jez got married and then his bride buggered off for an interview.

Mitzimaybe · 22/03/2011 22:42

Wow you've all posted so much since I was last here I don't think I can catch up.

Diege sorry you're so sick & hope it settles soon but it's a good thing really, apart from making you feel so bad, isn't it?

Sorry for everyone who's had bad news and yay! for those with good news - really, really sorry can't remember all the names - and min you poor love, on your 8th mc.

How do you go about getting your eggs checked, hairy? Was that the AMH test you mentioned? Sorry for all the stupid questions; I'm new to all this (which means: expect more stupid questions from me.)

E.g. I've just started temp charting, (too soon because I'm still bleeding a bit from my mc but I thought I should get used to doing it.) I read that it's important to do it at the same time each morning, but it must be done after at least 3 hours solid sleep. It says you must set your alarm at weekends so as not to sleep in. So usually (not lately but I blame the pg / mc for that) I sleep through to the alarm at 8am. But if I'm woken by the next door neighbour's door slamming at 5.30 am or the bin men at 6.30 am then I have to take my temp then, because even if I get back to sleep, it won't be 3 hours before my alarm goes off. How important is the time you do it?

hopefulgum · 22/03/2011 23:50

Hello ladies!
Mitzi, I temp everyday, and I just do it when I wake. But I do wake pretty much at the same time everyday. My "default" time is 6 a.m, but I temp half an hour either side of it. You can also adjust the temperature (there's an adjuster on fertility friend) if your time is way out. But they suggest you don't use that too often. I guess if you are woken before your alarm, and you won't get three hours sleep after that, then take your temp at the earlier time.

It has become second nature to me now (been doing it for about three- four years). I think it is a great tool, not only because it shows when you have ovulated (taking the guess work out) but also shows patterns in your cycle. It can also help to diagnose specific problems like progesterone deficiency or short luteal phase etc.

Beattie, I'm afraid my symptoms really aren't all that hopeful.Temperature dropped today. Fully expect RTD on Friday or Saturday, unless my LP has lengthened.

Nice to think someone else will be awake when I am - in Vietnam. How long are you going for?

Deige - I'm so sorry you are feeling so awful. I'm guessing you've tried everything to help, and that drugs are the only thing that helps? I have heard that acupuncture and reflexology can help, but I'm not sure how it would go with your full-on hyperemesis. I did acupuncture to help with morning sickness, it was helpful, but didn't make it go away.My acupuncturist loves to tell the story of the woman who was hospitalised with her sickness, but then had acupuncture three times a week and stayed out of hospital. That's all very well, but I'm guessing that it cost a pretty penny doing it that often!

I've heard of a reflexologist here who also practices hot rock massage and Reiki. I'm thinking I might give it a try. You liked the reflexology, didn't you Hippy? I especially like the sound of the hot rock massage. Sounds very relaxing.

I'll do anything if it will help implant a take home baby!Smile

Italiangreyhound · 23/03/2011 00:50

min welcome, so sorry to hear of your losses. May you get what you are hoping for. I hope we can help with hand holding/hugging and sprinkling baby-dust. Just curious and tell me to butt out but has your hubby been checked for anything. It sounds like the miscarriages and your tragic loss of your baby girls has all happened with your new husband, could it be that there is something in relation to his contribution to the pregnancy. Please ignore that question if you prefer.

Tina sorry to hear about your BFN but glad you can at least feel some cheer from the sunshine. Thinking of you.

In fact Sorry to hear about the BFNs ladies.

lolfactor can your doctor not do a test on the discharge?

hairylights were you hairytriangle? Sorry if this has been discussed, I pop in and out and don?t manage to keep up well! If you have had several losses are they now checking this out.

Curlylox Disneyland! Wow, actually Euro Disney has kids go free up to 12 so if they repeat that offer in the next 6 years, we will probably/possibly go! Just might need to leave DH behind as he hates spending money!

Hippy Hamster happy and surviving life with my rough-handed DD!

Hippy re the business idea, personally, I would be wary of trying to sell anything! I was a Phoenix trader for a year and made about £70 in a year clear profit... yes you read that right! I think if you are wanting to really throw yourself into it then do but if you are just toying with it, then you will possibly not make much money. If you are self-employed you will need to do tax returns, which are a pain! Will you have to put some money in at the start? You could possibly find your house is full of stock and bits of paper. I think being self-employed can be quite a lonely business. Also, I think if something is expensive it can be harder to sell, I sold cheap cards and it was a struggle, are these expensive products? My job has developed a lot and I now love it and so if you like being around people and stuff I would say paid employment beats being self-employed. But if you want to go for it and would enjoy it then go for it.

Muchlove how you doing?

Beattie yes, Comic Relief was emotional! Did you watch the Witney storyline on Easter Enders on Comic Relief, very upsetting.

Louise hugs to you.

Tank how are you?

Lia any developments?

Hugs to Nicole, OooohShiny, Shandybass, Jolls, Alba, Diege, Hopefulgum, and panshe.

Waves, baby-dust and hugs to all.

louisesh · 23/03/2011 09:20

Good day at work yesterday was nice to get back in to all the gossip and trival crap.Had a long conversation about Georgie with our new band 5 nurse he was appointed when I was off but had obviously heard all about what had happened and said he wanted to talk to me but didn t know what to say.As i told him i m always more than happy to talk about Georgie and would rather people ask as opposed to being ignored/avoided.
Ended up telling 2 more of my colleagues about GBOS they are so happy.Arh.......X

TinaO99 · 23/03/2011 09:39

morning all newbies, oldies and italian and lou thanks for the good wishes, AF is due today still on a bloomin high on the monitor, it's been so weird this month, I've had no sore boobs which i normally get before it's due but I'm guessing if i didn't ovulate my period may well have gotten delayed or messed up somehow

my colleague at work is convinced I'm preggers as she is getting all the symptoms (but is convinced she isn't herself) she had the same thing with a friend of hers who didn't know she was pregnant as soon as she found out my colleague lost all the symptoms

I'm sure I'm not but we'll see maybe the BFNs I'm getting are because I've been testing too early - fingers crossed

have a great day all - it's beautiful again outside Grin
