Sigh. Bladder not harder.

OrangeGloss · 01/02/2011 07:02

Morning, I've been so tired lately I've been lurking all over the threads but falling asleep trying to type :(

Mamap and Pink good news about the scans, I hope that gives you some reassurance :)
Pink I know what you mean, the other thread scared me and couldn't read for a few days

Wombat I am obsessed with salt and vinegar crisps ATM too. And chocolate. Both of which I never ate before pg

I'm still waiting for scan dates, I'm now either 10+6 by dates or 9+3 by scan. I just hope they scan me sooner rather than later, but a date would be nice.
I'm having a paranoid moment thinking I can't imagine what's happening inside, so maybe it's nothing. Has anyone else felt like that

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 07:47

Ha going for a pee before scan reminds me...... Went for pee yesterday at clinic, and saw there were loads of magazines on a shelf above the toilet, turns out they are all grot mags-must be where the boys get sent to do their semen sample Grin

He reckons the train vibrations are bad or something?? Can't find anything on google, no idea where he got that from.

Hope you all have a lovely day xx

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 07:53

wombie, orange and nix I've also gone right off chocolate, just the thought of the milka I brought home makes me want to spew. However, a nice bag of salt and vinegar real McCoys would go down a treat and I don't normally eat crisps! Also can't stop thinking about burgers......

orange I've been trying really hard to visualise a little baby stretching out and growing-I know it doesn't look like a baby yet but it's a bit harder to visualise a little blob! Is it worth maybe getting one of those books that explains week by week what's going on? Helps me believe it's real-need something to cling onto as it'll be a long time until we get to see or feel anything moving I guess.

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 08:43

orange i am paranoid at the min, even though scan was only over a week ago I am turning into a paranoid wreck! Doesnt get that much easier.... harder in fact as i knwo there is a bambino in there, with a heartbeat that was waving and backflipping... Still pretending not happening. even as i sit at HQ now typing this sporting a mega large belly im pretending its just normal... to very strange glances!! Off to docs tomor as i think i have a bacterial infec internally again :( rather just get swabbed for the sake of it, to be on the safe side!

So of course that is fuelling the paranoia.... because they cause late MC! FFS will i ever relax?!?!

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 08:46

pink i have devoured a few big macs, and a couple of happy meal hamburgers...but my food of choice was white plastic ham butties.. and weetabix... funnily enough havent had any weetabix for about 3 weeks! Still off coffee, chocolate, cant touch pasta, did sit and eat a whole tin of mackeral in tomato sauce the other day on its own...GO FIGURE?

Fresh OJ and fizzy stuff is good for nausea if anyone is suffering xx

OrangeGloss · 01/02/2011 08:54

I'm obsessed with burgers too! And off tea/coffee

Grin @ grot mags!!

Thanks I think I was a bit tired, DH sent me back to bed, I work flexi so can show up whenever. I think writing it down helped too.

I just wish I knew what dates to go by, then I could read and imagine what's happening

Nix I hope you get sorted at the docs. Funny imagining you sat at work pretending it's not happening! My work trousers only just fit, I think it's wind tho

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 10:06

nix straight from the tin??? Hehe Ming!! I am paranoid my colleagues know-is paranoia a symptom?? I am a bit bloated, haha about you just ignoring your tummy. Bet Boone says anything just in case you're just a bit fat these days!! Grin

Texted dr yest as was panicking about backache and cramps-he says it's v common and nothing to stress about.

Felt really pukey this morning, feel fine now though apart from an overwhelming urge to cry, for no reason. Anyone else get this???

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 10:07

Ps swab sounds like good plan nix. What infection do you think it is? Apparently I have strep b so that wi be something else to mental about if I get that far....

owlbooty · 01/02/2011 10:26

Train vibrations?? Time to tell him to shush, Pink :)

Nix boo, evil infection. Hope the doc sorts it all out for you.

I went off chocolate for weeks and weeks and have only just begun to find it edible again.

Womble - vinegar?? Weirdo :p

Wombat33 · 01/02/2011 11:14

Not a weirdo Grin vingegar is wonderful Grin

I'm off chocolate too - bleurgh - normally I'm the world's biggest chocoholic!

I'm paranoid about my colleagues suspecting but I don't think they do yet. The girl I share an ofofice with even commented the other day that she's so impressed that I have the willpower to just stop drinking tea and coffee for my January detox depite drinking loads before Hmm Grin

Nix I'm sure we can all relate to the paranoia! Scan was 5 days ago and allready i'm fretting again! 6 days til next one!

hairyfairylights · 01/02/2011 11:16

orange yes, I feel like that too. Today I feel completely un-pregnant, can't picture it, can't 'feel' it.

I am trying so, so hard not to freak out and kind of doing that 'nothing to see here' thing.

Been asked today if I 'caught' easily both times and said yes (nice lady at work, very sympathetic, says all the right things and none of the wrong things) and I just managed not to say 'damned easy this time' as I have vowed to myself not to tell anyone at work until sixteen weeks.

Roll on Friday and fx for a heartbeat. Although I kind of wish I could just not have a scan til twelve weeks.

I am desperately trying to do the PMA and 'visioning' and 'affirming' thing

OrangeGloss · 01/02/2011 13:28

Hairy glad you have someone nice to talk to. How far will you be on Friday? Sorry if I missed you saying. I hope it reassures you

Good work on the detox Wombat Grin

Pink paranoia is definitely a symptom!! I asked the MW about backache and cramps, she wasn't the slightest bit interested, calmed me down a bit

I've had my scan date, 11th Feb! Let the countdown begin. They are obviously going by my LMP dates, so that makes me 10+6 today. Gonna read my book tonight for visualization and hairy's PMA - now I know which bit to read

I didn't puke this morning, which means my nausea is worse all day. My colleague keeps asking if I'm ok, he just caught me heaving Blush Grin

hairyfairylights · 01/02/2011 15:03

I'll be exactly six weeks on Friday. I am truly cacking myself.

I also have blue finger nails and am paranoid I have some kind of undiagnosed circulation disorder (consulant has me on 75mg of aspirin per day).

youremindmeofthebabe · 01/02/2011 15:54

You do know that there's an old wives tale saying if you crave savoury foods, you'll have a boy?

Just a thoughtGrin

Good luck for Friday hairy

Wombat33 · 01/02/2011 16:24

I heard that yrmotb. I googled it too and there's as much out there saying it's not true as confirming it so sadly I thing we'll have to wait for scans/arrivals to confirm!!

Hairy I too have blue nails (new since pg) and am constantly cold - I thought it was meant to be the other way around but apparently not for me!

owlbooty · 01/02/2011 16:36

I've been told I am having a boy (by the dr at the scan) and I am not craving anything. I could quite fancy some green tea ice cream though. Does anyone sell it round here? No they fecking don't.

Mr Boots refuses to let me buy an ice cream machine.

Excellent news on the puking and retching and weird twinges - blue nails is a new one but I did get the constantly cold thing for a couple of weeks :)

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 17:28

Hang in there hairy. Blue fingernails doesn't sound good-get some slippers on!!

owly I think wasabi do if there's one near you. I'd steer clear though as I think it comes out of a mr whippy style machine. A basic ice cream machine is max £50 from Argos or amazon-I've got a kenwood one it's fab!! Tell mr boots that's your valentines prezzie of choice!!

I'm constantly cold too!

Have just had a bag of, you guessed it, salt and vinegar real McCoys. It was amazing. I have another in my handbag-luckily I'm with colleagues so would be too embarrassing to eat them otherwise I'd be straight in there.

Ive still been drinking a glass of pineapple juice every morning as I like it but read on the other thread the enzyme can cause uterine contractions-shit!! I am too scaredto eat anything these days-might just stick with the crisps.....

Hello YRMOTB by the way!

hairy I am so jealous of the people that find out they're pg at 16 weeks-that would be a dream come true.

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 17:38

£24 kenwood on amazon-buy two owly!!!

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 18:31

Mm is blue fingernails bad circulation? I am in the cold spell at the min :) with CANKLES today....WTF?!

Pippaandpolly · 01/02/2011 18:51

Hi everyone (shy wave), especially Nickster who I recognise :) Just wondering how you go about asking for an early scan? I've got a booking in appt with the midwife next Wednesday (8 weeks) - can I ask her for one? So desperately want to know it's all ok in there. Or will she be able to hear a heart beat? Really don't know what to expect!

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 19:03

What are cankles?? I've discovered what the danger of train journeys is..... Have been on the train for an hour and forty, trying to suppress the urge to fall asleep and/or vomit on my colleagues :/

Think I'm going to have to ask DH to drive me to acupuncture tonight, way too tired to drive....

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 19:07

Hi pippa sorry no idea as round my way you don't even get a midwife appointment until 12 weeks, then the first scan at 14 or 16 weeks!! Yeah right, as if I was going to wait that long!! I would imagine you can ask for one ,but hopefully someone will be along with answers soon.

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 01/02/2011 19:13

nix just looked cankles up-chin up hun, you're in good company as I swear Jennifer Anniston does too. Have a look at the ankle airbrushing on the cover of Marley and Me ( don't watch the film though)-it's so extreme she must be turbo paranoid.

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 19:19

talk to either gp or mw... mostly unless you have a bleed problem peeps tend to pay for a private scan. I think they are about 60 squid. ish.
