A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

For reference here's a link back to the previous thread

Latest stats to follow in a moment!

list is hilarious.

idea for when you're really bored mummya

lily06 · 01/02/2011 17:57

Grin at Chloe and her anticipated fretting - don't you know that's what we all do and that's why we're on here? If we were the kind of people that just sailed through these things we'd be out in the real world sailing (or something like that). What I mean is you're in good company, so fret away! Smile I'm not looking forward to staring clomid having read everything, but then again, I guess its what we are both going to have to endure.

MummyAbroad · 01/02/2011 17:58

I was just reading it too, it was making me feel sad actually, there is me going on about not having AF after 8 weeks. I didnt know at the time I had AS and no amount of pills were going to bring my period back! oh, that seems like such a long time ago, and I am still here thinking about lotions and potions. Oh dear, I think CD1 depression has just kicked in.

lily06 · 01/02/2011 18:02

Poor MummyA, we're all here for you. Chocolate, wine and pizza/curry/chips/biscuits (delete as appropriate) prescribed for you. Just remember everything you so rightly said earlier - there are so many things you know you can do this month. Thinking of you though x

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 18:02

Hmm I am just not sure about the whole cough medicine thing, I am up for trying the grapefruit thing though even though it tastes vile - at least it's reasonably healthy (she says after consuming a years supply of calories today!)

I read 'at least I know what to do with the peel' as 'at least I know what to do with the pee' I wondered what I would be opening up from the link! Grin

cep · 01/02/2011 18:09

mummya i'm sorry. i wasn't making light of the problems they were talking about. I'd just read up to the using real egg white and it'd made me giggle.

i read it as that at first chloe. i'm thinking with the cough medicine at least i shouldn't get a cough.

MummyAbroad · 01/02/2011 18:10

thanks lily Smile

chloe I think its better to only try one thing at a time anyway, otherwise you dont know what works.

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 18:34

CD1 Mummy bugger :( only a few more days to go til its ovulation time :)

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/02/2011 19:04

mummya it's odd to read that list now isn't it? September feels like a lifetime ago! Sorry you've got cd1 blues Sad it is by far the worst day and tomorrow will be better x

We've just made choc chip muffins here, covered with melted chocolate, a weight watchers nightmare but IMO things the dcs make don't contain real calories so it doesn't count

jigglebum · 01/02/2011 19:33

Evening everyone - just having a little break from marking exam scripts, and liking the wine and choc muffins talk.

Well AF arrived 2 days ago for me. First since mc - so a relief in some ways as shows things are getting back to normal and was about the same time since mc as my normal long cycle (36 days ish) Bit disappointing though as of course hoped I was pregnant. Will help explain the foul mood I was in at the end of last week though!!

Can empathise with the talk about mums not always being as supportive as you would hope. My mum was frankly useless after my mc and said a few hurtful things (unintentionally). Last time she saw me she asked me why I was still looking for part time work when I was wanting another baby. I didn't say (but perhaps I should have!) - because it took nearly a year to get pregnant and then I lost it so can't assume it is going to happen anytime soon (if at all)

Best get back to it.

OrangeGloss · 01/02/2011 19:40

Evening all, sorry I've been so crap at posting, just unusually tired this week

Wombat my DH says the same about MN support, when I was bleeding he knew I'd posted and kept asking what replies I'd had, think it helped him too
Chloe I had accupunture and liked it, I've heard good things about it with fertility
Collie I hope WTF passes quickly so you can look forward
Mummya sorry to hear about AF, but like you said you have positives to improve on next month
Lily sorry your mum isn't more sensitive, I haven't even told mine I'm pg as she upset me so much last time
Cep I had less than half a pint of grapefruit juice a day and could tell the difference. Think it can't be from concentrate though
Jiggle sorry she got you, it's early days, and no reason to take the same length of time as before (((hugs)))

Just had takeaway Chinese [guilty emoticon] and have my scan date of 11th Feb, so nervously counting down

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 19:55

I don't think the tiredness is unusual Orange Wink

Starting to feel a bit low. My period pains are definitely getting stronger so I am in no doubt that AF is on her way and have just lost my rag with ds as he is being a bugger at bedtime atm so my lack of dealing with it calmly minus the shouting suggests a distinct presence of PMT Sad

Velvetcu · 01/02/2011 20:02

Mummya sorry she got you, fx for a Valentines BFP :)

I don't have a problem with cm (in fact i probably have too much!) so what can I try??

You lot need to stop talking about food - I had a salad for dinner and then come on here and its all about the chocolate muffins and wine Grin

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 20:06

You don't win friends with salad Velvet Wink

Velvetcu · 01/02/2011 20:31

oh yeah, forgot to say - I found out today that 2 of my year 10s are pregnant Angry

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/02/2011 20:40

velvet Shock

Chloe55 · 01/02/2011 20:44

How old is year 10? (I am still in the 1st/2nd/3rd year decade!)

mousebacon · 01/02/2011 20:57

Oh my god velvet, that's shocking and bloody awful for you. Sorry pet Sad Sod law isn't it? A mw friend of mine says she always know's the 15 yr old's baby will be fine whilst a broken hearted woman sees no heartbeat. Really sorry love x

kat2504 · 01/02/2011 20:57

Oh velvet how horrible. people who shouldn't even be having sex getting pregnant when it will cause them all sorts of problems and they are not old enough to deal with it. And us who desperately want it and are ready to bring up a child having problems. Life is very unfair. Is a bit of a tragedy in many ways for those poor girls too though in my opinion.

Mamapower · 01/02/2011 21:09

velvet that would piss me off! Makes me Angry almost as much as pregnant women who smoke outside maternity wards Angry Pfffff there is no justice!
Big hugs lovely Smile

cep · 01/02/2011 21:24

grief, what's that about 15 then??
ooh mamap i know drives me crazy.

mummya you ok?

MummyAbroad · 01/02/2011 21:40

velvet am Shock too, and pitying them. Do you think they will actually last long in school?

cep yeah, I am fine thanks. Dont be sorry you didnt do anything wrong. It was just weird seeing my posts on that thread - that was back when I thought I would get AF and be pregnant again in no time! (I was a lot more chipper then!)

Izz wow, was it only September? September isnt actually that long ago. I didnt look at the date, I just thought back to when I was at "that stage" and it felt like years ago! I guess a lot has happened in a short space of time.

Anyway, I've just been to another supermarket and found grapefruit juice Grin So for your interest and amusement this month I will be conducting the Great Grapefruit Juice Experiment. Every day of my cycle until ov I will consume:
one tall glass of grapefruit juice
one pregnancy vitamin
one EPO capsule
one Flaxseed capsule.

I may even at some point put some eggnog in a test -tube glass of water cep stylee. All eggnog activity will be reported in real time and there will also be a brief summary by way of conclusion of the experiement after ovulation.Grin

cep · 01/02/2011 21:49

does it matter if it's from concentrate?

mummya it does actually work, it sinks straight to the bottom.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/02/2011 22:11
Collie2 · 01/02/2011 22:20

chloe I'm sorry the Chlomid is having such awful effects for you. To be honest I don't know much about it but I've just been reading and it sounds shit- a really rough deal. I hope you feel better with it soon x

velvet I can't believe that news, that must have been hard. I would have wanted to scream. I know some young girls go on to be good mothers but it still seems cruel.

mummya flaxseed is for after ov, in place of epo. see here
