On CD15, temp has finally risen slightly today, fingers crossed I'm ovulating. Anyone testing yet?

staceym11 · 02/11/2005 13:25

hi everyone, have had a few posts to catch up with and now cant remember anything i wanted to say but hope everyone is ok, well i must be on cd 25 so keeping fingers crossed af doesnt come, have a funny feeling it will tho as am eating everything in sight (quite usual around af) even tho dh has decided i have his dd2 in my belly (he usually hates getting my hopes up!!!) so god knows!

wont be testing until next saturday if i can help it as cant stand dissappointment i had last time (early test +ve then week or so later 2 -ve tests and a week after that a lartge clotty like bleed) which was horrible so will be puttin it off for as long as possible.

for whoever it was that asked we've had 1 BFP on this thread so far, hoepfully we'll have some more this cycle.

c'mon girls we can do it!!!!!!!!!!!

carly82 · 02/11/2005 13:36

can i just ask which test you used when you got the early bfp?

staceym11 · 02/11/2005 13:39

a clearblue, about 3/4 days b4 af due, then a week or so later did a tesco own brand BFN did one with doctors and BFN was due for a scan but started to bleed so never went.

Normsnockers, The surgery made me feel like I was completely overreacting until I became so dehydrated that I needed hospitalisation.
I didn't brush my teeth for 8wks. Just looking at the toothbrush made me gag. Dr told me to drink a fizzy drink. Tried lemonade. Still makes me gag-just the smell of it. Yuck!

Why are we doing this again?????

Hi ladies, can I join the list of you wanting Beanies or bumps for August!? I have been ttc since a m/c in May and have been floating about on these boards for a while. I also bought a Persona 2 months ago, but my body messed up this month and didn't give me an O sign before I ran out of sticks! Bought some CB OV sticks as well. Going for a blood test next week to see if I've oved. My doc has kindly said we can do them every month till I get PG or Feb when she'll refer me, which ever happens first. Fingers crossed for everyone.

jersey · 03/11/2005 10:21

Good luck Strike1, welcome to the club!

Anyone testing yet? On CD16, the long wait now!!!!!

Baba · 03/11/2005 12:42

Can I add my name to the bumps by August? We have been TTC since July and had no luck. Already have a 3 year old son and just feel so dissapointed every month. I had really bad hyperemesis last time - am 37, 38 next year so feel I really want to conceive asap. Period due 11th of this month and feeling the same old symptoms as usual - can't remember the symptoms from the first time I got pregnant though.

Are the PERSONA kits any good or should I just stick to my fertility chart which I did online?

Good luck to everyone on here!!!

jane313 · 03/11/2005 14:40

Got day 21 progesterone tests back. Had very garbled conversation with someone at surgery who said test needs to be redone as it showed no ovulation. But she was a bit confused saying they needed to be done at ovulation. So will call dr about tomorrow.

Can't decide whether its good to have an actual problem that may be treatable or better to be unexplained and just keep trying. Feel mainly just like crying.

strike1 · 03/11/2005 15:20

Hi Jane313. I think I might be just about to start the process that your on now. I went to see my GP yesterday as I'm not sure I'm ovulating. She sending me for a blood test this month see see if I have. I think we will repeat this blood test till the new year, then use that info in my referal. She told me the test needed to be a week and a day from suspected ovulation. In a normal 28 day cycle this is day 21/22. Last month I think I oved on day 17 so I'm going for a test on Monday. Maybe your test was on the wrong day for your cycle? It'll probably turn out to be something easily treatable and then you can move on, get pg and live happily ever after Investigation is a good thing, it just feels like a long process sometimes doesn't it!

staceym11 · 03/11/2005 16:38

oh jane hope they get it sorted. you deserve an answer, especially if it leads to treatment!!!

well im on CD26 and other than eating a lot i havnt had any symptoms, other than my boobs are hard on the top (TMI i know!!!) but dont know what thats about, so we'll just wait and see, will be trying to hold out until next sat to test but god knows if it'll work!!!

well anyway better go im knackered from childminding and dh is taking me out tonight to the cinema! have a lovely day everyone!

andyrobo237 · 03/11/2005 21:02

Evening ladies - I am on CD10 - so hoping for some fireworks on Bonfire night (BD'ing!). Did my first OPK test for this month - very feint, so hoping that saturday wil bring the two solid lines to suggest ov is in the next 24 hours! DH has been off all this week so should be lovely and relaxed! If no luck this month, won't bother for next month (but you know what is likely to happen!!) as dd will start school next septembe, so don't want to miss that! Don't know if I can be bothered to go to Drs for anytests - not too bothered if ttc takes 12 months (currently on month 6) but then I am 36 now!! Hard choice - but will get xmas out of the way then have chat with DH!

Good luck to all those due to test soon!

I only got to talk to the dr through the receptionist and evidently my progesterone is low and needs retesting to confirm. So another month. Have appointment booked with dr in 10 days. Can't decide whether to cancel it and make another after those results or not. Maybe it would be good just to chat anyway. I was so knackered after a few bad nights sleep that I went to bed when my son napped and missed the time I can get my DHs results at the drs. So will have to wait till monday for that.

So would you recommend persona? Have still a few clearblues left before I decide. they were £4 off in boots.

Problem generally with things like Persona and opk's is that they measure the same thing - LH levels.

Two points that you should all be aware of if using such things - not all women have one rise in LH every month and such rises are not always followed by ovulation. They have the same disadvantages of charting along with the expense.

Would certainly avoid these things at all costs particularly if the menstrual cycle is at all irregular (an irregular cycle is defined as a cycle length of less than 21 days and greater than 35 days OR with more than 4 days of variation from month to month).

Norms - you can say to your GP that you have been trying for a while now without success. Its often nothing to do with not bd at the "right time" during your cycle. I have read the bd two or three times a week throughout your cycle is fine.

Timing of intercourse is often a mistake and can make things a lot worse in terms of stressing you both out. Would suggest that you make love when you both feel like it not just around "ovulation time".

Generally speaking ovulation is not an exact science and it can occur earlier, later or not at all in any given cycle.

rubles · 05/11/2005 08:52

Meerkats,

You say "They have the same disadvantages of charting" which rings a bell from something you said in a previous post somewhere which raised a question for me.
What are the disadvantages of charting? Can you get a clear temperature rise, with egg white CM without having ovulated? ie You might have the oestrogen levels rising then the surge of progesterone but maybe no LH surge???

Thanks a lot.

MeerkatsUnite · 06/11/2005 08:43

Hi rubles,

Charting though is certainly not an infallible method and does have problems associated with it. For example you can have a rise in temp in the second half of your cycle when an egg has not been shed. If chart ends up looking like something akin to the Rocky Mountains then it can certainly become difficult to interpret. Charting also becomes a daily reminder that there could be a problem associated with ovulation and it can become stressful in its own right. Therefore I would not chart for any longer than a couple of months.

Many GPs and gynaes do not use temp charts anyway primarily because they are so unreliable. The surest way of knowing whether you are definately ovulating or not is to have blood tests done to measure your hormone levels.

Also opk's assume that women only have one temp rise and one LH surge every month - many women have more than one rise of each every month. Also such surges are not automatically followed by ovulation.

hi everyone, well on CD 29 now!! (usually have a 28 day cycle) and still no af!! so keeping fingers crossed, havnt tested yet and holding out for a while (if i can manage it) but will def let you all know when/as i test, please keep fingers crossed for me!!!!!!!!!!

JAG123 · 06/11/2005 17:53

Hi all haven't got round to posting for a while.

Good luck Stacey & anyone else coming up to testing.

Well CD 2 for me after a strange start to AF. I was due on Wed but there was no sign. Then Fri i started brown spotting v v light only a couple of times (sorry if TMI ) & hardly any cramping just sort of aching. Started red more like AF bleeding on Sat but even then was v light till afternoon when got a little heavier. Seem to have stopped now too. All very strange as i usually start straight away no spotting & although my afs generally not too heavy it tends to last a little longer than this, tend to get what i call the dregs for days (TMI again sorry)don't tend to just stop. Just my body tricking me again.

Anyway trying Persona this month so hopefully i'll have better luck.

We really could do with some Good News on this thread soon.
Take Care Everyone

staceym11 · 06/11/2005 19:30

I have not posted for a while ut am still desperatly trying to conceive for number 2, I have had 3 m/c since our ds was born he is now 3.5 yrs. I am on currently on day 22 of a usually 29 day cycle. Getting really fed up now as its been almost 12 months since last m/c and I keep thinking this time last year I was pregnant. What do you this is the earliest you can test?

Good luck to you all with ttc.
