Hello flouncingmoletta I should also be on a mission today but I am in bed while MrBoo and small child play lego Harry Potter downstairs. Was supposed to be having a sleep but smallchild woke me up to wipe his bottom so I thought I might as well mumsnet before commencing house blitz. I wouldn't bother but we are doing this mad canapes safari thing with our friends/neighbours where we all go to each others houses and eat and drink then move on. With kids in tow. It's going to be a bit hectic.

Hockey in Birmingham is where the jewellery quarter is so was thinking that might be where truffles has gone.

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 10:07

Hockley even. Morning sunshine soz, x-posted. I am in Worcester but I can see Birmingham from here with my special superwoman eyes. And I am a Brummie too.

InTheSunshine · 15/01/2011 10:08

Moley did you used to hang around outside IceNine in Notts??

InTheSunshine · 15/01/2011 10:09

Ah Boo I thought for a little minute you were in America and got all confused. Then I read your post properly.

Truffkin · 15/01/2011 10:58

Moooooorniiiiiiing

Have just rolled out of my pit after a lovely long sleep, sorry to the FESH who have been up with mimi mes already.

Boo I shall indeed be in that there Hockley when I get my arse in gear later on. Our jeweller (does that make me sound like a royal?) has had his own workshop there since I can remember and all of my family go to him so he made my Dad's wedding ring as well as mine and my sisters' and my engagement ring. Bless TGB, who drew him a picture to commission it and was so nervous I wouldn't like it when he picked it up, he got down on one knee in the middle of the road (Boo it was the roundabout with the clock tower so bit of a landmark!) instead of taking me on 'the Birmingham wheel' for romance times.

Erm sorry, I appear to have wandered off into my own memory for a while there. Fact for you though, his workshop was used as a filming venue for this series of Hustle so am looking forward to adding it to Birmingham landmark spots.

Also Boo that food and drink safari thing sounds ace! We don't really like our neighbours so wouldn't work for us but lovely idea, enjoy.

Am valiantly battling woman flu that arrived suddenly last night. I didn't realise my body could hold this much snot.

Ariesgirl · 15/01/2011 11:20

Lord there's been some Class A wittering this morning. Good going.

I too liked Depeche Mode a bit. especially the black and purple coloured album they released in 1993 which I am too old to remember the name of. Perhaps you can help, Boobs?

Am not testing today - have missed first-thing wee.

That's not really the reason - I am not testing because I am A Coward.

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 11:21

Neighbours were friends before I moved in Truffs. They found me this house when I was looking for a house share. Then I moved Mrboo in and here we still are. What is fab is that the neighbours had a little girl 6 months before we had smallchild so we are still able to socialise with one another. Then we've got the hedonists over the road, some mates who moved nearby 3 years or so ago about 6 doors down , and then single mate (with carefree glam life, we all hate her and love her in equal measure, she is still in her 20's Envy) in gorgeous shared flat down the road. Regular little bohemian community, we is :o

Love the proposal story and yes I know that very clock - I used to work at a jewellers in Brum and would walk to 'the trade' every Thursday with the outwork. It holds a very sepcial place in my heart does Hockley and am very :( to see so many places having to close down 'cos of the recession (not the main shops, the jobbing jewellers).

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 11:21

Songs of Faith and Devotion Ariel. My favourite album.

starnosemole · 15/01/2011 11:22

Ice nine!! yey!! I used to save up me babysitting money and go and browse tie dyed t shirts and huge boots for hours! Do you know BB's too? Got my very fave pair or dungerees from there

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 11:24

Don't test if you don't wanna by the way Rie. I have had cystitis and very painful it was too so I don't know about all this kidney punching.

starnosemole · 15/01/2011 11:26

Am experienceing neighbour envy Envy Mine are all 83 and called Ernie and Edna. Perhaps I should move out of SunnyEnd Retirement Community?

Truffkin · 15/01/2011 11:42

Boo I have a dreamy vision of you all wafting about in velvet, tie dye and doc martens eating falafel and drinking home brew! I don't think was realistically expect too much violence from our resident hippy, just lots of lesbi-friends action.

Yes it is sad that the trade has dropped off so much, although I think my grandparents take him 3 or 4 jobs every week for a day trip into town, they should be on commission!

Rie we won't make you do anything you don't want to do. Now, when is droid due exactly? I want to determine exactly how tough lovin' we can get

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 11:43

The downside is that everyone knows everything about everyone. Like a fecking village. Right I've got 4 hours to clean the house and rustle up some canapes out of the scraps food we have, cos I'm too skint to buy anything in.

Catfood Bruschetta anyone? :o

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 11:49

Nah, think bohemian in the Parisian sense truffs, all poetry, corsets and absinthe, I have hippy tendencies 'tis true but I still like to look vaguely current, tie dye just doesn't cut it any more. I could doss about on here all day but I have to kick those two off the PS3, I totally disapprove of wasting time messing about in front of a screen when we could be doing.. erm,... better stuff.

Ariesgirl · 15/01/2011 11:50

You take me to, you lead me through Babylon...this is the morning of our love, this is the dawning of our love...

Well remembered, non?

Am on Day 29 Truffers. This isn't unusual, but I was fairly sure I ov-ed on day 14/15. Oh I don't know. I actually think I feel far too energetic to be diffed. Am boucing up the stairs two at a time and stuff I thank you for the gentle treatment of the kidneys though - have never been a pressure-tester. Have never been a tester at all, in fact. Have only ever done three.

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 11:53

:o

PrincessBoo · 15/01/2011 11:55

*engage

Closing eyes very tightly and praying to every single deity for rie including the God that is Gahan.

I AM off. Enough clusterposting.

Ariesgirl · 15/01/2011 11:56

Well given you have just displayed some appropriate lesbianism, I think perhaps you can stay. Do not regress to fluffiness

rocketleaf · 15/01/2011 12:30

"velvet, tie dye and doc martens" might all be corsets now but thats a pretty accurate description of 20 years ago :o

sending strong swimming vibes to all those of you doing the sechs this weekend and deliberately not looking at rie

AlpinePony · 15/01/2011 12:35

Aries Because you didn't list me on your list yesterday (post 16.33.32 if you please!) I will deliver a kidney punch which will make you piss bloody shards! In other news lovely, that nasty cunt of a woman has had a bad week. The river flooded and her home is under a foot of shitty French industrial waste and sewage. Grin

sunshine Have you POAS'd?

I am on holiday from ce soir and expect at least one, if not all of you to be diffed by my return. No pressure.

OP posts:
Ariesgirl · 15/01/2011 12:42

That's tremendous news Alps. I am revelling in Schadenfreude.

Sorry about the lack of your name on the list Grin

cheezyquaver · 15/01/2011 12:50

Afternoon ladies,

I dont have time to read the several pages I have missed over the last few days, but I have the feeling I have missed something from the brief skim read.

Droid arrived this morning at 3.30am while I was standing with Mancheeze who seems to have come down with norovirus over night.

What a sight our bathroom was this morning, himself puking, shaking and heaving over the loo and me standing with emergency wad of tissue betwixt mine thighs to stop the flooding while passing him water to drink and tissues to wipe his sullied face! being nice while all I wanted to do was cry with dissapointment and be furious with him because yet again he is ill (He's had quite the year last year and this better not be a sign of things to come) yet again i am on full time childcare, full time cleaning duty, full time nursing duty, what a delight.

and yet somehow I have managed to complete my tax return.

just call me supercheeze!

Ariesgirl · 15/01/2011 12:57
