I've started a new thread!

OP posts:
BeattieBow · 05/11/2010 14:06

Welcome and hello tel1 you sound v similar to me - I had a mc on 1st Feb, but just can't get pg since, despite falling very quickly previously. I have suspicions about womb lining too as my periods have been extremely light for the last 6 months.

I have seen someone privately this week and am having tests too (2 day and 21 day tests fine). I suspect I also need to swi more though too...

diege my temps vary by at least that much on a day to day basis, and by as much as .30 of a degree or more even during LP. (mind you I'm not very good at doing it at the same time each day), and there are alot of factors that can affect your temp too.

OP posts:
Diege · 05/11/2010 14:30

Thanks BB - my temps also vary by up to 0.4 daily during my LP, and looking at my chart the mid-70s seems to be the average resting place for my temps this cycle anyway. All the same, I think I'll place the thermometer in a far away drawer for tomorrow!
Meant to say BB that my gut feeling is that it's just a matter of time before you get your bfp - let's hope it's this month so that you don't have to endure all that high-maintenance scanning!

tel1 · 05/11/2010 14:33

I'm going to see what the NHS people say first, and then think about the private route...

Diege, how long had you been trying, pardon me asking.... ? It's just good to hear positive news....

hippychick66 · 05/11/2010 14:42

Welcome tel1. I don't think you're asking too much to want another baby, my dear. I'm also finding that #3 is being very elusive!! Angry

diege I hope the thermometer has been shoved to the back of the draw now and we will hear no more stuff and nonsense.

BB How's my new bezzie mate doing??? Wink

Love ya really diege.

tel1 · 05/11/2010 16:26

thanks hippychick - at least I'm not so hung up on hitting the right school year and age gaps now, as I was.... now its been so long, I just want it to happen eventually - DD is just 5, DS is nearly 4..
great having them so close (14mths diff), but then you go from chaos to nothing, when they both start school. I've asked DS not to grow up, but he says he has to, as he wants to climb trees.
I wish I didn't want one, as anyone looking in would say my life is perfect, and it is... but can't get the baby thing out of my head... and I let it spoil what I have, which I know is really selfish.
Most things in life you can control, except falling preg... it drives me mad !!
anyone with a fertility magic wand??

do you all take your temp? or use those ovulation sticks?

BeattieBow · 05/11/2010 16:46

I do both, but am stepping away from the temp taking, as I just don't think it works for me. I have a temp rise which I think is a bit delayed (it is several days away from the positive on the clear blue fertility monitor anyway) and i get too hung up on it too - waking up at all hours etc.

The fertility dr I saw this week said it wasn't reliable, but opks are the way forward. my acupuncturist (yes, I'm obsessed) says that CM is the only reliable indicator.

diege temped though and it worked for her!

OP posts:
tel1 · 05/11/2010 17:07

right ok..
what are
OPK
SWI
EWM
AF
DPO
CD
CM
I can guess some, but please confirm
and please forgive me,and risk being shot down in a guff of laughter, do you use a normal thermometer, and use it in the mouth, or is there some sort of magic phallic thing out there I haven't heard of...
I did look on ebay and the clear blue monitor things, but the price put me off...

BeattieBow · 05/11/2010 17:43

ok:

OPK - Ovulation Predictor Kit
SWI - shag with intent (as opposed to SWOI - shag without intent)
CD - cycle day
DPO - days past ovulation
AF - Aunt Flo or period (i can't bear AF)
CM - cervical mucous. Best kind is EWCM - egg white cervical mucous
CBFM - clear blue fertility monitor

there is an acronym thingie around somewhere on the site.

I didn't know any of these acronyms either until a few months ago. Now it's all I can do to stop myself discussing SWI and EWCM with any old tom dick or harry Grin

You need to get a special thermometer (I got mine from boots), but you can use it in your mouth! (some braver folks use other orifices, but I can't go that far).

i got some OPKs off ebay, but never get a positive with them, whereas I always get a peak with the CBFM. I thought I'd only need it for a couple of months and then I'd be able to sell it on Sad hey-ho.

spottysox · 05/11/2010 18:04

Hello tel1, this is lovely place to hangout I'm so glad I delurked and am hoping to get my official club slanket soon. Smile

So I can let dh rest a while and only bother him around +opk time he'll be so relieved he was looking quite withered poor soul. I'm going to have to start doing opks earlier having been caught out this month. I have used a persona monitor before but the sticks are quite expensive you can buy 2nd hand monitors on ebay quite cheap. I think I will dust of my persona and start weeing on even more sticks and see how that goes.

Hippy did you see Harry Hill tv burps with Wagbo every time you bring up jollsters unfortunate crush that's what I imagine.

ILGH was it you who mentioned kind hearts and coronets? Brilliant film, I love all the old Ealing comedies, my kids just don't get them and moan there's no colour Sad they don't know what they're missing. Maybe when they get older.

Have a good weekend all

Spotty

Fedupttcnosuccess · 05/11/2010 18:17

OPK: ovulation predictor kits
SWI: shagging with intent ( to get pregnant! )
EWM: egg White mucus (raw egg whites not cooked; stretchy in texture not brittle!)
Aunt Flo: period
DPO: days post ovulation
CD: cycle day ( of period, first day of bleeding being counted as CD 1 )
CM: cervical mucus
HTH =hope that helps!!!!

Fedupttcnosuccess · 05/11/2010 18:20

Sorry cross posted!!!!

tel1 · 05/11/2010 18:23

thanks guys.... EWM the most gross I think

right DH home, DC both naked - better get off this and back to the family

happy SWI everyone
xxx

Italiangreyhound · 05/11/2010 19:29

Spotty T'was me with the kind hearts and coronets and for some reason DVD did not record it!

I am off to the docs on Monday to see if he knows where my af has gone.

Welcome and hello to Tel1 and Fedupttcnosuccess

TankGiirl · 05/11/2010 20:27

Bloody 'ell - this is all so friggin' exciting. I hope nobody minds me parking my tank on your front lawn. I think I have run over the ornamental gnomes ? they weren?t your?s Italiangreyhound ?

Having had your thread under surveillance for some time now Being a committed lurker, I am familiar with your vile and somewhat dubious methods, and I ABSOLUTELY FECKING LOVE THEM. I particularly enjoyed the sniffing incident - you know who you are, you dirty buggers... so I have been considering dropping in.....

Now, I know you are all old enough to remember me, and lets face it, I am feckin' famous. So you will be aware that I have numerous problems on the TTC front. Shagging a mutant kangaroo isn't easy at the best of times y'know - and if you think you have problems with nosey toddlers and caravans (I'm talking to you Mrs Hippy ) think how freakin' bad it is trying to swi in a freakin' tank.

I'm afraid I will NOT fit in here, as Tank Girl does not do slanket (spits).

Perhaps I can interest you ladies in <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=bigpicture.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/04/16/fn_herstal.png&imgrefurl=bigpicture.typepad.com/writing/2007/05/m249_automatic_.html&h=269&w=533&sz=126&tbnid=7onVtLW8nUESwM:&tbnh=67&tbnw=132&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dautomatic%2Bmachine%2Bgun&zoom=1&q=automatic+machine+gun&hl=en&usg=__ygt5FiFDDi24C7R-Iv9w69Ao7bc=&sa=X&ei=RGbUTLiEH5-W4gb6iqmVBA&ved=0CCwQ9QEwAw" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this instead. As the weapon of choice, it is appropriate for both ensuring SWI and evading SWOI.

Altogether the more practical alternative I think.

Anyway, I digress. I really came into snog Deige (did I mention my lesbian tendencies)
Well done darlin' - you're finally up the duff!

Now where's the booze to celebrate - it is Friday night.

Don't know if any of you temping can help me I had usual temp of 36.3 CD13 before a rise to 36.6 CD14 followed by a rise to 37 CD15 I thought my ov would be CD14 before the first rise but ff has put it as the day I got the 36.6 temp What do you think I'm clutching at straws cos CD13 would put me closer to our last SWI.

Hello to fedup and tank I think you fit in very well tankgiirl we could put a spittoon in the snug(you'd have to empty it though) although I understand you being an outlaw it may be difficult for you to visit regularly without being caught. Wink

Happy Saturday
Spotty

Diege · 06/11/2010 11:44

Morning! Welcome Tankgirl, what an opening post Grin Would you possibly wear a camoflage pattern slanket? They are all the rage I hear..
Gum, no the pre-seed was on the to-buy list for next month, so luckily avoided the joys of that. Other than good timing, the only different thing was the extra folic acid which I know people say helps with chromosome problems, but I'd think this would take a few months to kick in?
tel (I think you asked?)it took 8mths to get the bfp, the last 3 months of that charting. I've also been taking marilyn glenville fertility vits, plus her fish oils, and also agnus castus up to ovulation.
Jollster, don't get jealous now but when I was buying The Guardian this morning (of course Wink) I glanced at one of the red tops and saw that Wagner is in big trouble for walking in on Mary naked Shock. It took her 70 minutes to recover, as he wouldn't leave and just sat on her bed!!!!
Dd3's party this afternoon - have just about got away with the Teddy bear cake - thank god for buttercream is all I'll say Blush. Love to all - oh and have tucked the thermometer firmly out of sight in my knicker drawer!!!

galwaygal · 06/11/2010 13:45

tankgirl - sorry to have missed the friday night boozing. But anyway you might not fit in without this camoflage slanket they call it a snuggie bluegh but as long as you don't point the weapon at me in the snug - then welcome!

tel - welcome to the snug!

As for me, if anyone updates their stats again soon, move me to slanket phase please.

hippychick66 · 06/11/2010 14:09

It's weird to think that there are lurkers out there who read about us but don't post. I always tend to think it's just us and then BAM tankgirl arrives and knows all about me shagging in a caravan and sniffing tissues Blush.

Welcome to you, I assume you have an Ozzie boyfriend (is that what you meant about shagging a kangaroo or am I way off course???)

spotty I know it can take a couple of days for the temp rise to happen. to be honest I really don't get how bloody FF knows when you've ov'd it all seems very confusing to me. I hope FF is right and you ov'd close to your last SWI.

I have begun SWI for this month (troops in place, Jolls Wink.) I will catch that bloody diege up!!!!

Whoever mentioned Wagbo - yes, I know what you mean. If it was Wagner and Jolly it would be Wagjo. It's an awful creature isn't it??

Matt to win - I think I love him Hmm.

Must google slankets for kids. Father Christmas might be getting one for my funny little DS2.

Diege · 06/11/2010 14:21

OMG *GG, you mean there really is a campflage slanket Shock; if fact 'snuggie' seems even nicer Blush. I know adult babygros are all the rage (think they were featured in Grazia this week, or was it last week's Heat Blush?, but they were literally hundreds of pounds Hmmvery

Spotty, yes temp rises can take a couple of days - mine seem to follow the 'staircase' rise, other peoples sort of stop and start. Best of luck!

Hippy! In the early hrs I was thinking of the snug as I resisted the lure of the thermometer, and something popped into my mind about you returning to work? Did I make that up?
Right, better go and get some slap on for the party I hate kid's parties!!! Blush

Diege · 06/11/2010 14:22

'campflage' Blush - actually that's a freudian slip that might be quite appropriate thinking of the target market!

randomimposter · 06/11/2010 14:23

hello tankgirl and tel.... welcome to the insanity...

diege hope party goes swimmingly! And you cheeky mare, giving the newbies the idea I heart Wagner.... this joke has gotta stop!!! And that goes for Wagner's participation in X Factor too!

spotty sorry, know nowt about temps... am sure someone cleverer along in a mo.

BB ouch... scans every other day? that sounds expensive :( I have to go back on Tuesday to get my bloods re-done (apparently the lab needed more for one of the tests). The girl who phoned was very apologetic..... "that's ok, so long as I don't have to pay again" I joked.... I might have to go in Monday though for my day 2 tests as although I'm only day 22 today I've had spotting yesterday and today, so think CD1 is imminent (UCL is 24-26, last month 25). I had been hoping it might be implantation (yeah that old chestnut!) as had been having cramps/twinges for a few days which is not like me pre-period. BUT that's just the craziness of TTC obsession talking.... argh. I bloody hate all this crap!!

where's my hippy??

wave to all - must take DS to park before it gets too late.

Will pop back after fireworks
x

randomimposter · 06/11/2010 14:25

ooops XP lots
slow distracted and VERY (toddler) interrupted typing - park beckons... will catch up later
