I've started a new thread!

OP posts:
SassySusan · 30/09/2010 21:56

am a bit tiddly... and having read that back.. it sort of reads that I called DH's member 'the horse'
He would love that... Grin

hippychick66 · 30/09/2010 21:57

I'm gonna have to love you all and leave you. True Blood in 5 mins.

See you tomorrow.

Night all. Last one out please turn out the lights.

diege Yay - we're mates again Grin.

Beattiebow · 30/09/2010 21:58

oh Sassy I'm sorry af arrived. it's shit when you get so close.

Yes we are going to try EMSp this month. How honest with your dh were you? did you tell him you needed to swi 3 days in a row, or were you just inexplicably horny for those days (and the alternate days from day 8)?

I am not doing opks as I never get a positive with them - I'm doing to do my clearblue fertility monitor thingie instead.

diege would be good to know the vitamin prescription if you could post it?

and (sorry tmi) I have had another really light period - even though I was about cd37 with a huge number of days LP. i really worry that I am just not getting enough womb llining (or whatever) how can i boost this does anyone know?

OP posts:
SassySusan · 30/09/2010 22:02

I was honest BB - dh says he found it easier last month, because the schedulde made sense and the timing was more purposeful iyswim

I think it appeals to his sense of order

Sorry - dont know how you boost your lining.

hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 09:35

beattie Not sure how you can increase your womb lining. How long was your LP this month? What does your accu lady say?

I think I will be joining you both with the whole lots of sex thing soon. I don't feel pregnant and I caved in an did a test this morning. I'm 10/11 days post ov so would expect to see a faint line if I was preggers and that half of the stick was annoyingly clean and white. Feeling annoyed cos I was so bloody chuffed with 4 lots of sex in that friggin' caravan Angry.

Anyway, I know what you'll say - it ain't over till the bitch arrives, which is what I would say if i was reading this. But they are quite sensitive tests.

sas how are you feeling today??

SassySusan · 01/10/2010 09:58

hippy it is too early to test... if only we could combine our approaches - me too scared to test ever, and you doing it too bloody early.

Am feeling ok - in the great scheme of things, it is just a blip. The important thing is to stay focused on getting up, brushing ourselves down and trying again. You haven't failed, until you give up etc etc.

I have bought us some flowers to cheer the snug up, as well as some chocolate croissants - back to the rain tomorrow, so best make the most of it. I hope nobody minds, I also used the thread credit card to buy a fancy coffee maker...
(offers to make everyone a latte)

SassySusan · 01/10/2010 10:01

lmafo @ my own post...

surely, I meant the important thing is to stay focused on getting it up Grin

At least I am easily amused.....

hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 10:04

Would love a Latte please. Grin

I know it's too early to test and it's usually me telling off the main offenders (you know who you are!)

I just got up this morning and thought 'Oh what the heck I'll do it.'

In a way it's not a bad thing cos I am now awaiting and expecting AF and have no excitement or expectations re: pregnancy.

It is annoying though isn't it. How many bloody sperm did we lay on for the egg this month sas - between us it must have been fucking millions and we produced 2 eggs. How can we both have missed??????

Oh what the fuck,Angry give us another latte.

galwaygal · 01/10/2010 10:22

BB just to reassure you, that lightness of af has no relation to thickness of womb. You'd have to have a scan to see if womb thickness ok. I had an extremely light af after a scan confirmed excellent thickness of womb, so, it is just the way it is for some people. I hope this reassures you.

OK so everyone is taking on the EMSp this month???? I really don't know how I will get my dh to do three days in a row, we can just about manage once or twice a month!!!!!! And if the three days occurred when I was away at work, we would be scuppered too. Can I just pretend to have a good active sex life instead, can I do the virtual emsp???? Hmm

SassySusan · 01/10/2010 10:25

phone sex?

I think you probably don't need emsp GG

Tell you want, I will try and fit in an extra shag on your behalf....

with my DH I mean - not yours!

galwaygal · 01/10/2010 10:35

phnew, sassy, I was just about to pick up the flowers and throw them at you for suggesting you shag my dh Grin. I agree that with having sex once in a month and getting pregnant, I think that the smep would end up with us having twins or triplets or something!

hippy - tut tut tut, testing early Hmm

latte- why not, been years since I had a coffee, so yes please for me too.

SassySusan · 01/10/2010 11:00

(hands GG a frothy latte)

I dunno though GG Maybe I would have more success if I shagged your DH Confused
Have already been almost looneys DHs ex though... this thread is complicated enuf! Grin

hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 11:04

Hi GG - totally agree you DO NOT need the SME plan. Knowing you and your DH - you can probably get preggers by post Grin

I hope what you've told Beattie helps her. It is all such a bloody worry, what am I doing right? what am I doing wrong? etc.

I know it's too early - blame diege she keeps popping on to say she's tested - It was her miss, honest!

I do feel like AF is on her way and whenever I get a twinge I get a bit more grumpy Grin Or it could just be caffeine over-load making me grumpy.

Set me up with another one of your excellent Lattes please sas.Wink

Beattiebow · 01/10/2010 11:06

ohh thanks GG. I haven't seen E this week, so she doesn't know about the positive test.

I am going to be doing the EMSp this month. Sassy's dh, my Dh wants to know all about it in terms of timing which I'm slightly worried about.

He is being very supportive atm - but lets see if he is still like that in 2 weeks time.

hippy sorry about your neg test. It is too early of course, but still gutting I know.

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 11:10

beattie Will your accu lady tell you off about the positive? - she told you not to do it.

It's like being a teenager again, you're gonna have to say, It was an accident Miss - we didn't mean to do it - it just happened!

jolly It was so nice to see you in the snug last night (looking lovely, as ever Smile) please don't bugger off again!

SassySusan · 01/10/2010 11:29

(hands BB and hippy a latte, and hands hippy a sticky nut patisserie... i hope you like those)

Hippy it is just shit trying to interpret every twinge... I was doing that yesterday... it's almost easier today... it's not the despair that is hard to handle, it is the hope!

Have been discussing strategy with DH, but he keeps saying he doesnt' know... actually I think he is keener on more sex rather than less... Confused

EMSp gets you to start on day 8 which I know is too early for me... but perhaps it is helpful in getting the sperm production in tip top shape? I can't see why it makes any difference if you don't bother to shag at all till you get a pos opk? Or am I missing something? I assume if I can get a pos opk one month, I'll probably get one this month? Is that right?

hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 11:50

I can see the logic behind it all. If you just wait til you get a pos on an OPK and then shag you could be getting the old dregs who've been sitting about waiting to be called for days. If you start on day 8 by the time you ov you'll be getting fresh, young lads who are keen to sniff out the egg Grin

But as you say sas, I would be a bit like, "Why am i bothering now?" on day 8 - if I knew i wasn't gonna ov for about another week.

Oh god the bloody effort involved is exhausting me. I think I defo have PMT. I feel like crying at it all.

I totally agree, the hope is worse. Every new month is like, "Right this could be it!" and then 24 days later I'm sat here surfing the preggo section - hating them all Shock

Give us another pastry, love????

hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 11:51

Off out to do some chores now, tescos & collect prescription etc.

Will be back to moan some more later [smile.

hippychick66 · 01/10/2010 11:52
Smile
Diege · 01/10/2010 12:05

I'll have a decaff americano with room for cold skimmed milk please, that's if there's any left after Hippy's three lattes Grin
Ah Hippy you are a woman after my own heart testing at 10 dpo...I truly hope it is too early for you, but if not then you are in good company this month!
Sassy I agree about the hope being harder to handle than the despair. Like Hippy I look at the pregnancy threads with hardened eyes after af/bfn/dropped temp, whereas a matter of days before I would have been having a serious debate with myself as to whether it was worth going for the multi-buy offers on the Isabella OLiver site Blush
Beattie I think I would probably fess up to E as she might be able to pass on some nuggets about why she thinks the pregnancy failed. I'm also listing the fertility prescription I mentioned (from Marilyn Shannon's Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition. Over 40s need the following to aid conception and to 'prevent' chromosome abnormalities:

Vitamin B6: 300mg
Folic acid: 4000mg (???!!! - how many pills would that be? Confused
Vitamin B12: 1,000mg
Vitamin C: 1,000-1,500 mg
Vitamin E: 400-800 IU
Zinc: 25-50mg
Flax oil 5-10g (5-10 capsules)
or fish oil (1tsp)
Probiotics, such as acidophilus

TBH I'm a bit Hmm about all that folic acid, as I know too much can suppress vit B12 insufficueny (hence the 1000mg of the latter I suppose...). I think I'll be checking how much I'm already taking of the above in my Marilyn Glenville tabs, and then add one more regular Boots own folic acid tab (so 800mg). I'll also try some of Gum's supergreens.
Still not sure about the pre-seed - may try grapefruit joiuvce instead Confused

AlbaDeTamble · 01/10/2010 13:03

Just a quick hello. V sorry about disappointments, but the month after a cp/early miscarriage can be good (and my 'af' was very unexpectedly light after chem preg, Beattie)...
Diege on your recipe... Zita says avoid that much vitamin C... It's great for colds as it dries up runny noses... Can have similar effects elsewhere IYSWIM (so you'd be needing the preseed...)

Hippy too early to know for sure... wait a few more days...

running away now before you kick me out

Diege · 01/10/2010 13:07

Alba wait!!!!!I know you are somewhat of an expert on folic acid - can I ask how much you took when ttc? How are things going with the pregnancy? Smile

AlbaDeTamble · 01/10/2010 13:44

Just the one 400microgram in addition to regular Zita multivits... Pregnancy fine but I've been completely exhausted, it's hard work at our ripe old ages! Way better today after a week of sleep. Really must run, sorry, work calling and loads to catch up on.
Good luck!

Diege · 01/10/2010 14:27

Thanks Alba and good that you are geting your energy back a little. I'll definitely supplement with the extra 400mg of folic acid. I've also had a look at the Zita West supplements (I've been taking the Marilyn Glenville ones) and notive they do a 'top up' type for women havinbg fertility roblems alongside the regular ones. Over £50 for both, plus oils though so may have to save up - boy do they know their target audience!

SassySusan · 01/10/2010 16:06

Where's the evidence for all the supplements? I'm just suprised, as we have spoken to a fertility consultant and a GP and no one has mentioned anything like this?
