How am I going to tell her Dad!

My teenager has just announced that she is pregnant. How could this happen? We are a religious family and her father is going to hit the roof. She is a very good girl and we go to temple every week. She seems very content and happy to tell me she is due in three weeks time. She thinks its a blessing but only waited until now to tell me. It's amazing she hasn't shown until now. I'm a wreck how can we tell him this news?

We are back from Hospital for DD final scan. I saw my lovely grandchild. Doctors are a little concerns as there seems to be a bright circle around the baby's head. Doctors are looking into it. What could it be?

aww, the little angel!

StAnne · 07/12/2009 09:20

Well that went well yesterday. The Wedding on Thursday. Thank goodness shot guns haven't been invented yet! New in-laws-to- be are going to pay for the Honeymoon.
So much to do before then I have to buy a hat.

How was the wedding?Have they gone away now?

saintnickelas · 15/12/2009 11:31

I hope they're getting on okay!
we haven't had an update for ages, StAnne!

it's such a long journey.
did they manage to get a donkey? your dd won't want to be walking all that way.

nymphadora · 15/12/2009 19:39

Must be about half way now.

How were the star gazers doing?

uglymugly · 15/12/2009 19:52

Well, the stargazers have probably got lost because of cloudy skies. Will they ask for directions?

nickelbabyjesus · 16/12/2009 12:41

don't worry, the stargazers will use GPS, in this day and age, i should think!

Iklboodolphtherednosereindeer · 16/12/2009 12:49

It's OK - there's a really friendly bunch of shpeherds that hang around wathcing their flocks this time of year. They'll help out with directions of they get lost

Shodan · 16/12/2009 13:08

Should've told the OP to tell her daughter to pack extra tea towels and some spare socks.

nymphadora · 16/12/2009 20:17

and soap

Heated · 16/12/2009 20:30

Have they booked? TravelLodge do some good deals at this time of year.

nickelbabyjesus · 17/12/2009 11:31

you just know they're going to leave it till the last minute and end up having to sleep in someone's garage, don't you?
it's always the way it goes!

nymphadora · 17/12/2009 12:36

Backpacking whilst pg just isn't going to work is it

StAnne · 17/12/2009 13:03

Oh! you lovely people I thought you lost interest (Must ask Mumsnet for a hug or Kiss emotion) Well you are all right. Typical of a teenager she has left everything to the last minute. BA wouldn't let her fly so late into her pregnancy. Well! Thank Jehovah because she would have been stuck if they strike. So against my advice they have gone overland with my donkey. She has taken her laptop, ugg boots and that blue veil maternity dress and very few baby things. Not sure about Joseph now as he seems to think they'll be okay even though he hasn't booked ahead! My poor baby hope she'll be okay

Blokes!

At least if shes got her laptop she can email you, she could always try Travel Inn online en route?

StAnne · 17/12/2009 19:40

She has sent me an e-mail and said they are spending the night in a 'Yurt' & sleeping on a 'futon'! What is she talking about? I sent a message back about Travel Inn online. Does anybody have the discount code?

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 17/12/2009 19:45

Have they seen the forecast? Did she remember her coat? Has the donkey got snow shoes? I do hope she isn't prone to chilblains

nymphadora · 17/12/2009 19:51

Maybe Chloehandbags friend the shepards can advise on places to stay?

ChloeHandbag · 17/12/2009 20:00

Nope sorry friend asked her dh, but they were just sitting around on the ground.

StAnne · 17/12/2009 20:58

Yes! She has a coat but insists on showing her bump... I told her dressing with your midriff showing is bound to give you kidney problems. But does she listen, No.
MerryKitten I did pack her Maternity bag and in there are some lovely cashmere socks for the labour. She'll be glad I packed them tonight.

OP posts:
OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 17/12/2009 22:04

She will be, but if she sits on the ground in this weather she will get piles! (or is that hot radiators...?)

StAnne · 18/12/2009 08:32

I thought it was cold steps and walls I think it's snowing again here! Hope my little girl is okay? She says Joseph has been lovely. She asked me to help her with her Birthing Plan but I don't know what to tell her. Advice Please?

OP posts:
ChloeHandbag · 18/12/2009 09:47

Not sure about birthing plan, but remind her she won't need a crib for a bed just yet - hay will do.

nymphadora · 18/12/2009 13:37

Has she got her swaddling clothes ready?or will she pass a mothercare?
