Thought it would be handy to start a thread!!!

You should all get an ID number for parcels, so please quote it in your thanks (you can name change ) to make life easier for people checking their parcels have been received!

for Christmas Spirit!

thankyou thankyou thankyou so so much.

you made a very grateful mum and 2 small poorly children who were at home off nursery smile a lot this morning when the postman arrived. The clothes are beautiful and they will be wearing them on christmas day. I can't remember the last time they had brand new outfits, my ds was over the moon with the dinosaur top, thankyou, you have been very generous and kind. and i know exactly which toys to get with the voucher - some things that we wouldn't have been able to afford if it wasn't for your kindness.

i am overwhelmed at the kindness someone can show to a family they have never met. Thankyou so very much.

This morning I received a lovely card and vouchers in the post, and I wanted to say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are so generous and kind.

then later on a confused DHL mann knocked on my door and said "are you the mumsnetter of the house?"!, "does that mean something to you?" so thank you also to whoever sent me this beautiful bouquet

I am so humbled and overwhelmed by these gestures, and feel like the luckiest person ever right now!

THANK YOU THANK YOU

THANK YOU

ChiefElf · 10/12/2008 20:29

Ooh I love this bit, when it all starts coming together.

manythanksyouarewelcome · 10/12/2008 20:58

Manythanks - glad you liked the flowers, and hope you can treat yourself with the vouchers, Do you think there will be lots of confused postal workers around???

To the lovely lovely lovely person who has sent me some vouchers today in the post, I cannot believe someone would be so kind and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, you restored my faith in the human race!

Love the anon name!

DH will definitely be watching them ALL with me, he promised when he saw how touched I was receiving them, so I'm holding him to it.

And I forgot to say a special thank you for the MN Christmas card - even better in the flesh as it were, it will be kept for a long time, it was a really nice touch

Thank you so much, for my voucher/open gift. I looked at the shop last night on-line and found it incredibly difficult to look for things for myself as I only ever buy stuff for my DCs

However, I have settled on an indoor clothes airer (a house present) as I have just one, and in the winter find washing/drying such a slow process that a second airer will make me feel like a domestic goddess :-)

Thank you so much,

STOP OMG! I'm now sobbing, I just went to see if I could find your initials to add to this message when I realised that the value of one card is £10 and you sent me FOUR of them

Thank you so so much Fiona for my vouchers.....

I am off to look at digital photo frames and/or hair straighteners or blackout blinds as we don't have a single curtain/blind in the house.

Your family and Mumsnet have just made my Christmas

GodBlessYousSanta · 11/12/2008 10:33

Gosh that arrived quickly!!

You are very welcome. Although a clothes airer doesn't sound very exciting if it helps with your laundry every day it is prob very exciting!

Enjoy - and buy something frivolous too!

Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas.

Santa1605 · 11/12/2008 11:50

pgwithnumber3 - you are most welcome, glad they arrived safely and Happy Christmas

my parcel iis ready to be posted tomorrow. what is the convenr=tion re: wrapping? Should i wrap or let the recipient open the parcel and decide what is best suited for each dc. My match has dcs of same sex and similar age

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 11/12/2008 13:55

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 11/12/2008 13:56

Wrap & tape in parcel is great, as is wrapping but putting a note in for the parent so they know what is there.

blushingm · 11/12/2008 13:59

i wrapped mine - kids xmas paper for the DD and grown up paper for the mum - i wasn't sure what to do and was too shy to ask

migolapland · 11/12/2008 14:06

am crying reading this thread, it's so nice! sent mine yesterday - wrapping paper & tape in the parcel is a good idea, wish I'd thought of that, didn't wrap mine as thought mumsnetter might like to do it (and also so that she could see what it was). Will know better next year

J2O · 11/12/2008 15:08

Wow!!! What can i say?! Thank you so much to the lovely lovely mumsnetter that sent the massive box full of clothes for dd2 and books for dd1 and also a pressie for me!
I had no idea that i would be in the recieving list, i really feel part of the mumsnet family now. I'm going to wrap the books up for dd1 and the wintery clothes are just the right size for dd2 and the summer ones will fit her when it gets warmer.

thank you

BexieID · 11/12/2008 18:06

I included wrapping paper, but no tape and tags! Last year I wrapped them, but the recipients unwrapped them and i'm not sure if they did it carefully enough to wrap back up, so I just included some as I didn't want any going to waste!

FioFiosanta605 · 11/12/2008 18:11

FioFiosanta605 sorry forgot to add paper to wrap them with!
