Hope I'm not tempting fate with that thread title Grin

Not sure if this is a Christmas thread or beauty thread puzzle but I could really do with saving some money AND actually getting the product if possible…
really want to buy Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber fragrance as a Christmas present. Husband getting a flight today so it was his job from duty free, however… no longer stocked. Told it’s discontinued. Ideally I wanted to get the small bottle as recipient travels and it’s an acceptable price but frantic googling has now just brought up 100ml bottle for an eye watering £125. Any ideas on either finding a small bottle or nudging the cost of a large bottle down? Airport charge was £45 ish for 30ml and £99 for 100ml.

I had a look on ebay - wow!! Expensive perfume! I'd love to know what it smells like. Wherever you found it - it is a bargain compared to ebay!! But they do have roll-ons perfume oil at £6.49 from a smell-alike source.

@Toooldforlonghair I second @IggyAce I have eczema and use Weleda now. I’ve got the face day cream and use their cleansing balm and skin food moisturiser at night. I used Aveeno for years and years and recently swapped to Weleda.

Interesting as my skin finds Weleda too harsh! I use jojoba oil on my face and shea butter at night on my hands (I get it in bulk from amazon I think via the soapery). Cera ve (I think that's the name of the brand) cream also doesn't irritate my skin and the best moisturising cream I've found for my skin is L'occitaine shea butter hand cream (not the lotion) but they reformulated it a couple of years ago and it's never been quite as good since Sad . Also not that bragainous! Such a shame about aveeno as their products are good. Gruum also do some quite gentle soaps etc (and do sometimes have offers).

DD2 has eczema and uses Aveeno products but wants to find alternatives because of Aveeno's animal testing. Can anyone recommend and alternative that does travel size/mini bottles that I can put in her advent calendar that way we can test them without wasting too much if they prove unsuitable?

Also gluten free chocolate recommendations please? I bought some vegan free from recently and it was horrible, very sugary and impossible to melt turning grainy immediately.

Thank you.

Odylique do samples and a small number of travel sizes - I have found their repair lotion really good for eczema https://odylique.co.uk/samples.html

Tryonemoretime · 20/09/2026 14:47

@Toooldforlonghair
I'm allergic to lots of things and the dermatologist recommended Cetraben cream. It's brilliant, if a little greasy.
Also, Aldi sell delicious GF chocolate.... I'm coeliac and currently scoffing Moser Roth Orange and Almond dark chocolate. Just check the list of ingredients. Anything in bold is an allergen, so no wheat, rye, barkey or oats. Anything that may contain these should also be avoided.

Thanks for the croc slippers. Definitely going to order for the kids. I can’t get the 10% code to work though. Anyone else having problems?

I can’t get the code to work either. Anyone else able to help with a code for the crocs?

hby9628 · 20/09/2026 14:58

@PandaBananaChocolatei think it might be account/product specific. I went back on and although the code had removed itself I did get 10% off one of the items. I don’t really understand why!

I’ve tried so many different brands over the years. I don’t know if aveeno change their formula but it began to irritate my skin.

Gruum are good, I use their shampoo and have used their face wash bar. I’ve never tried their moisturiser.

It’s such a mission to try to and find what works best.

Of course, no problem.

As you said, adding 3 of them gave 20% off, taking the price down to £37.20. I got a 15% discount for signing up for emails, so applying the code BAUFAMILY15 at the Coupon Code bit at checkout took it down to £30.22. Delivery is free over £25.

Hope that works for you, it's a great saving.

Thanks so much, I just got 3 candles for £30. Haven’t tried them before but I’m intrigued now after seeing so many of you recommend them.

Thanks to the previous poster for pointing out their referral scheme too. Wish I had realised this before ordering but would be tempted by another order if anyone used my link on the referral thread here:

Boots have this Sculpted by Aimee set for £35 at the minute. This is great value as it has 4 full size products, and I normally buy the serum on its own for £27.

I think they may have had it in the outlet at Bicester yesterday if you’re anywhere near there/ know anyone nearby? You could call first to check.

My 3 M&Sense candles from Amazon arrived today. They smell great, especially the Basil & Ginger one. Just be aware if ordering, Amazon packaged them all differently, even tough they were ordered at the same time. One was packed inside a box, one packed in an envelope, and one sent without packaging with a big sticky address label on it.

The label leaves a sticky residue on the box when I tried to peel it off and just happens to be one that I intend to gift. Maybe I should have ticked the "contains a gift" box when paying?

Thank you @RainbowRoadshow for bringing the to my attention though, I'll definitely get more.

Someone on here told me to use a hair dryer to get the sticker off and it did work in the main! Just still a little sticky
