This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Thanks again to have mentioned the Scout shop - they have elusive navy school jumpers in stock for £2 each!
Also have some other colours and some shirts/trousers in the sales section if anyone else is doing some last-minute back-to-school shopping!
Not a Christmassy bargain but saved some much-needed pennies so cheers again!

Can I please take advantage of your collective wisdom in all things… I really struggle with cold feet in the winter. Does anyone have any stand out winners that will help? I use Skechers slippers at the moment because I also need super thick soles. But would love any recommendations for others worth trying.
When I’m working (at home- desk based) I have my feet in an electric heated old lady foot pouffe thing which is brilliant. Do electric slippers exist that I can wear all over the house?! Or do I just need an old lady electric foot warmer in each room that I sit in? It’s even an issue in the car- hence why transportable ones would be AMAZING!

mumonthehill · 02/09/2025 06:46

I cannot seem to get the haul discount. i now have ten ton of stuff i do not need in my basket but will not checkout now without one! None of the stuff is stuff I need......

@Elpheba Ugg boots or similar with socks. Cosy!

Dreamqueen · 02/09/2025 07:27

Thank you to whoever posted about the space encyclopaedia. It arrived last night. It's a beautiful book and perfect for GDD age 6.

IlovePond · 02/09/2025 07:34

Not a bargain really, but:

The Boots no7 calendars are out today.
There’s £10 off if you buy it - today only - with code: ADVENTSAVE10

I don’t know if this code works for everyone or just if you signed up to the waiting list.

Have you tried the type of slipper with a microwaveable insert?

These look like a nice bargain - £12 reduced down from £32 - but there are loads of options out there if tou search microwaveable slippers.

To those with Sparks offers on perfume... all I have is "Sparks preferential rates on M&S Travel Money"!! Worst offer ever!

Could someone kindly explain TopCashBack to me? Or perhaps just share a code if that's how it works and anyone has one!?

Re foot massagers - this one is not cheap but its the top pick in Which? and I can confirm it's ace

I love TopCashBack. You download the App and sign up. Then when you look for something, make sure you search through the TCB App rather than through Google. It takes you into the shop and you can browse/buy as usual but if you make a purchase you get a percentage back into your cashback account. You can then save it and cash in for vouchers or transfer any money made into your bank account. It’s super simple and I have yet to find a catch. I once made £106 from Currys when I bought a gaming laptop. It’s fab!

@roonetta amazing thanks, downloading now!

Here4the · 02/09/2025 08:48

@Elpheba for cold feet you really can't beat decent woollen socks. I got some lovely ones from a local shop for about £8 that have just the tiniest bit of elastance so they wash well and keep my feet a million times cosier than standard socks. I can't find the name unfortunately but any farmer or military shop should have decent options. Might also be worth trying the Celtic and co sheepskin liners that usually have an offer on.

zacsGranny · 02/09/2025 09:03

@Elpheba have you tried bamboo socks? I have very cold feet and they certainly help me.

you can bookmark the last post you've read, then when you next visit the thread it will automatically take you to your bookmark.

"Bookmark" is at the bottom of every post (far right)

Would that help? @Montanna15

beetr00 · 02/09/2025 09:32

@Elpheba have you tried Heat Holders? (also on Amazon)

IlovePond · 02/09/2025 09:32

Hi,
Has anyone bought a TCB gift card and then used it to pay for something online?

I am tempted by the cashback offer, but it’s a lot of money to risk if the gift card doesn’t work.

Montanna15 · 02/09/2025 09:35

@beetr00 amazing thank you!

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 02/09/2025 09:41

I'm looking to get some new Christmas mugs this year. My ideal would be to get a set of 4 (or 6) Emma Bridgewater but I really can't justify the cost of them 😫

Can anyone recommend some similar ones? It is the shape of the mugs that I particularly like. Or has anyone seen the bauble design massively reduced? Thanks!

beetr00 · 02/09/2025 09:57

@Arewesureitisntbedtime

1 pint £19.99, half pint £17.99, small £12.99

CakeCrumbs44 · 02/09/2025 09:59

Argos have a lot of toys and craft activities at 3 for £20. Some of the objects are £11 or £12 so it is good value.

For example there's a Harry Potter Lego £13 or 3 for £20

ChristmasMad1 · 02/09/2025 10:15

Has anyone managed to get the Haul codes working?

WhiskyandWater · 02/09/2025 10:22

Latest in beauty have a teen skin kit worth £200 down to £40, save an extra 10% with code KITTEEN10 looks really good and I think DDs will love it, lots of different products for different skin issues.
