This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Ooh I’m going to try to join these threads. I’m always struggling for ideas come November and we’ve got birthdays to sort out in autumn as well.

Hi, Boots are doing a promotion on Soap and Glory:

Free 300ml body cream with the purchase of two products.

They’re the fall back ideas but I’m hoping to get some stocking size, interesting gifts to take too.

A set for learning to play Poker. It's a good game, started playing with family members recently (we don't use money just game chips).

Was just coming on to say the same thing - lots of lovely handwash for me and the wrapped soaps are fab (and have been very well received in the past)

PumpkinSpicedTea · 30/08/2025 13:59

Just bought some things Scottish Fine Soaps, thank you! They're on Top Cash Back too.

watchuswreckthemic · 30/08/2025 14:41

Craft ale! Hi all, I need some craft ale for a gift (leaving gift not Xmas sorry!)- usually I’d be able to grab some but looking unlikely. Any recommendations?

hby9628 · 30/08/2025 15:19

@Theimpossiblegirlthanks for the Abbott Lyon tip. I’m going to order my 14yo one of the heart birthstone rings. It says it comes with “luxury packaging” as standard. Do you know if it’s decent? Wondering if I should spend an extra £5 on a gift bag

for info it’s free shipping on first orders if you sign up to the newsletter

Giraffemonkey8 · 30/08/2025 15:33

Some brilliant bargains on Sports Direct for toys (same toys also available on House of Fraser), including lovely wooden puzzles for little ones currently half price.

Do have to pay for delivery unfortunately which bumps it up a bit but still worth it. Don’t forget TopCashback cashback and also Blue Light discount if you have it. If anyone is buying for a unicorn lover they also have some unicorn slippers, soft toys etc for a third of their regular price at the moment I saw.

I looked on vinted and the packaging looks fine. If not, you can get nice packaging nearer the time for less.

hby9628 · 30/08/2025 15:50

fab thanks. It comes up with an offer for a cute heart bracelet too so think I’ll grab one of those to go away

hby9628 · 30/08/2025 15:59

So I used the following codes for Abbott Lyon
vipshipping for free ahipping
hello20 for extra 20% off. This only worked on the heart birthstone ring which came down to £14.40

i also added the small heart bracelet that popped up but that didn’t get any extra discount.
v pleased though. Thank you!

Restlessinthenorth · 30/08/2025 16:03

@hby9628 how did you get the ring so cheap? I can't get it anywhere near that price

hby9628 · 30/08/2025 16:11

@Restlessinthenorthits the rose gold one (silver had run out & she won’t wear normal gold) just in the sale section. It’s the adjustable one…I’ll find the link

Theraffarian · 30/08/2025 16:13

Really not a bargain , but more a heads up that the Holland and Barrett advent calendar has opened its waiting list . Also the MacMillan Advent from Boots ( and some others ) is half price at the moment at £44 . There is a beauty advent mumsnet thread , but most of the ones on there are out of my more sensible budget !

Ah that's where I was going wrong! Found it now it's road gold. Thank you

hby9628 · 30/08/2025 16:13

Im hoping the stone is the right colour when it arrives. It looks very red on the pic & it should be amethyst

Nowdontmakeamess · 30/08/2025 16:31

Not sure if they’d make good Christmas presents (unless someone you know loves organisation) but they were bargains - just got some fridge storage containers from Dunelm & when I got to the till they scanned at half price, and some stackable storage containers that scanned at 62p rather than the labelled £2.50. The containers could be filled with more exciting gifts perhaps.

Abbott Lyon packaging is very good!

Wellwhoknewthat · 30/08/2025 17:25

Link probably won't work unless you have the app, but Too Good To Go have 9 x kids coming mixes for £22.99, so just over £2.50 each. Best before Jan/Feb

I popped to Dunelm to get a few of the boxes and sadly they came up as the normal price! Still pretty cheap though and will help me with some food organisation!
