I'm taking a punt here that we won't need another thread before Christmas, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage
www.find-book.co.uk
www.find-cd.co.uk
www.find-dvd.co.uk
www.find-game.co.uk (as in PS4/xbox etc)

@Threeboystwocatsandadog I found some bags in (I think) the size you're after..got them in the Works. Perfect size for a few presents and nice Christmassy designs aprox the size of a bag for life. £1 each, they had bigger ones too but they were too big for my needs

Yes! Both of mine absolutely loved their bilibos, fantastic for spinning (small adults can do it too), turtle shells, carrying toys around, stepping stones e6tc etc. Endless fun and still look new after 10 plus years of play, so definitely recommend.

I'd second this @Bippityboppitybooo
Ours had a very busy life inside & once outgrown (much to the despair of my spinny kids) it lived on in the garden as a cauldron/fire pit/soup pot. It must be over a decade old now & is still used for carting snow/ice/water about!

Bippityboppitybooo · 21/12/2024 23:30

@Arglefraster and @IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile Thanks, have ordered 2 from educational toys, they're £20 each there with free p&p!

Did anyone receive the converse yet? If they won’t be here in time I’ll need to re-balance piles.

Jemimapuddlesduck · 22/12/2024 01:43

If anyone is looking for Christmas clothing/jumpers/pyjamas etc they are showing as full price on the Argos website but when you get to the payment page they are reduced. I picked up some Christmas jumpers, socks and pyjamas for next year. Both kids and adults. For example the Stormtrooper Christmas jumper showing as £17 but I paid £5.10. Also a nice tote bag for £1.80 instead of £6.

Sorry, I am full of questions today.

Has anyone managed to use the Amazon Co-Op £20 off £60 voucher that they had as a promotion last week?

There were a few items where as a “promotion” if you purchased them you were emailed a promo code for £20 off a Co op order via Amazon. When I try to use it, it says it’s expired, yet according to the email the dates seem to be fine.

I tried Amazon via chat but they took and passed me around three different departments.

I had to order then get a refund once it was delivered...I asked for extra as I'd been in chat for ages with so many different people. So got £30 back.

Tigi 2x750ml shampoo and conditioner sets are £10ish on amazon right now.

BOOTS Buy 2 get 4 offers a range of gifts and you can treat yourself - might make good stocking fillers or secret santa gifts

I treated myself to 2 full size Sanctuary spa body washes plus an extra for DD and the green Ted Baker body spray

If you have trouble finding it online search Ted Baker. Click on it and you can look for everything on the offer.

Sorry where is the buy 2 get 4? I can just see the usual 3 for 3.

watchuswreckthemic · 22/12/2024 08:37

Thanks @MrsBloomsburyBarton1 and I also got the Etsy code to work!
Really hoping I haven't forgotten anyone this year.
My birthday stashes are coming along nicely too so thank you all.

Restlessinthenorth · 22/12/2024 08:39

@WeAreTheWeirdosSanta thanks for sharing the bed head. What a steal...gift to myself!

ArthurChristmas22 · 22/12/2024 08:50

@Givealittlebit I've started on birthdays as well! Copper cocktail mugs and some bargain gin for a January birthday, I did a big Carrie Elspeth order with two birthdays, fishing BBQ for another one. Definitely on the look out for Christmas sales. We have a VERY expensive roof replacement next year and things are going to be tight.

fishfingersandchipsagain · 22/12/2024 08:54

Thanks @WeAreTheWeirdosSanta It’s good to know it wasn’t just me! I think I might give that one a miss - I can’t bear the idea of another hour on chat trying to get the refund.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 22/12/2024 09:07

Thank you @WeAreTheWeirdosSanta 😁

Livinginacatdictatorship · 22/12/2024 09:44

Morning everyone, does anyone know where you can get cheap little studd earrings from? Doesn't have to be fancy but if anyone knows of places that do birthstone ones that would be ideal! TIA

Livinginacatdictatorship · 22/12/2024 10:09

Thank you @IlovePond I will check those out now 😀

Has anyone had a dispatch email for the converse yet ?

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 22/12/2024 11:47

@starrynight19 yes I had mine a few hours after I ordered (a few days ago) it's with parcel force

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 22/12/2024 11:50

@starrynight19 I was ordered at 9am ISH on 20th and dispatched by 1pm with parcel force tracking

Babynumberthreeee · 22/12/2024 12:36

Can anyone help? I ordered something next day delivery with dpd. The supplier dispatched it to dpd last Monday, and it has sat in their warehouse ever since.

I cannot get hold of anyone, the WhatsApp customer service is an autobot and useless. The phone line takes me round in circles and not to a person, theres no email and couldn't care less on social media. I even changed the delivery to a pick up location incase that pinged it back up on their side incase it had been missed somehow but it still remains sat in a warehouse with 3 days til Christmas!!! If anyone can help I would really appreciate it
