I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Claire's Accessories have cancelled the order I made with 50% off in the Flash Sale on Tuesday. Not impressed - especially with no email update. I only found out because I checked my online account.

hugsandpugs · 12/12/2024 12:17

This 10 pack of nail varnish is down to £5 on Superdrug originally £15. Would make a good stocking filler

Sorry to hear that. I tweeted them a couple of days ago after the 50% off purchase I’d made on the 2nd was still ‘in progress’, and it was sent out later that day, and arrived today. I thought mine would be cancelled too.

hugsandpugs · 12/12/2024 12:24

This set is down from £30 to £8

Sockshop order I made yesterday breakfast has already arrived. I have already made another order. That doesn't make it a bargain, does it 😂

10pfreddos · 12/12/2024 13:08

Those of you who ordered the Dena shortbread Black Friday deal - has your order arrived yet?

I have a tracking number from Royal Mail but it's been stuck in transit since last Saturday 🙃

Any ideas to pad out a stocking for a 20 year old girl? Not too spendy.

Bit late to this sorry. This is what my DD has/has had :
AirPod cleaners
Trainers cleaner (like an eraser)
Furry scrunchy
Lip balm
Fluffy socks
Little notepads
Eye mask
Little trinket dish
Little pot
Chocolate
Squeezy toy

I’m looking for gift inspiration for a very difficult person to buy for.

Active late 60s male retired
diabetic, doesn’t drink much
doesn't live near any obvious RHS gardens or National Trust places.
Has everything they need and won’t want anything clutter.

previous gifts have included clothing, books (but not a huge reader) theatre tickets

hobbies going on holiday and boating (but boat is pretty well equipped already too)

Not sure of your budget, but maybe subscription to a Boating magazine?

Geminijes · 12/12/2024 13:42

I have only just come across this thread and have spent a few hours this morning reading it and the previous threads. Been most enjoyable and have ordered a few of the suggestions so thank you.

Here’s an offer for bouquets of flowers but limited delivery dates.
Go to this page
https://www.flyingflowers.co.uk/category/exclude-from-search-offsite-offer?awc=1268_1734010498_be6f055a0d670c4c48ecb4adb54f4e21&utm_source=awinFF&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.viglink.com

it shows bouquets with 40% off.

select an offer then, at checkout add code SANTA for an extra £10 off.

Have just ordered a £38 (original price) bouquet for £12.80 with free next day delivery.

My choice was only available for delivery for Saturday but I’m sure my mum will like an early Christmas gift.

hugsandpugs · 12/12/2024 13:45

Not a bargain but has anyone had any difficulties with yodel deliveries recently? A company I ordered a bike with sent it out on 7th. There’s been no update on yodel tracking since they received it 5 days ago. I’m trying to contact them but having no luck.

Been waiting on live chat for ages for no one to answer so trying to call them now and stuck in a queue with a voice message repeating over and over saying the same thing ‘our next available advisor will be with you shortly!’ Driving me slowly insane 👎😂

Mine arrived with the recipients on Saturday. Royal Mail sent a notification of date and estimated time of delivery beforehand.

Restlessinthenorth · 12/12/2024 13:54

I know a few people on the thread were looking for laneige gifts for teenagers. Boots have an amazing start gift today with a variety of their bird in for £35, which seems a great price as it's so expensive. I'm chuffed to have bagged one!

Pinkladymel · 12/12/2024 13:56

I'm not sure if this is allowed but I posted my Snackverse referral link on here and I've gained 3 referrals. I would like to use this credit to gift someone a snack box. I'd need your address but if you search my profile I've been on this thread for donkeys years! If you send me a message, I will stick your name in an online randomiser and announce the 'winner' tomorrow :)

Fairyliz · 12/12/2024 14:04

@Pinkladymel
What a lovely gesture in the spirit of Christmas. I won’t put my name forward as my DC’s are now adults and I’m sure there are posters with younger children who would benefit more.
Just wanted to say thanks; have a little tear in my eye, must be coming down with something.

lemonsmum · 12/12/2024 14:10

Lego bonsai tree is 33.99 at Smyth's.
Shelf showing 47.99 but did scan at 33.99. May explain why it's sold out for home delivery though but seemed to be plenty of stock in stores.

Does anyone have an argos code they could pm me please? Dad has asked for some tech between us and looking to save a few pennies. Thank you

It wasn't Christmas gifts (I've got all those already!) but for DD's birthday next year so I can wait for another deal.

Having issues with yodel myself. I’ve finally managed to get hold of them after being in a queue for an hour to be told they don’t have it yet even though the tracking says they have it on the 7th December! According to them it’s not reached their warehouse yet as it’s coming from an international supplier! Errmmm since when are bargain max an international supplier 🧐

Looks like I’ll have to contact bargain max to see if they can provide any further info…. Panicking a bit as it’s DD’s main Xmas present 🎁
