Thread ?17? the one where I've lost count

I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I'm not sure if this is allowed but I posted my Snackverse referral link on here and I've gained 3 referrals. I would like to use this credit to gift someone a snack box. I'd need your address but if you search my profile I've been on this thread for donkeys years! If you send me a message, I will stick your name in an online randomiser and announce the 'winner' tomorrow :)

Aww what a lovely gesture, thank you ☺️ I’ll pm you. My dc would love this!

Pinkladymel · 12/12/2024 14:26

Could anyone help me please?

My daughter really wants a kit to make her own lip glosses, the kind with the wand. I thought I had it sorted but then I saw the company has bad reviews for selling fake products with chemicals in 😬

Can anyone please recommend me one? I've looked everywhere and I'm panicking!

Thank you ⛄

I have only just come across this thread and have spent a few hours this morning reading it and the previous threads. Been most enjoyable and have ordered a few of the suggestions so thank you.

Here’s an offer for bouquets of flowers but limited delivery dates.

it shows bouquets with 40% off.

select an offer then, at checkout add code SANTA for an extra £10 off.

Have just ordered a £38 (original price) bouquet for £12.80 with free next day delivery.

My choice was only available for delivery for Saturday but I’m sure my mum will like an early Christmas gift.

Ooh thank you for this have ordered some for me and some for dd she will be delighted.

TryingToHelpBut · 12/12/2024 14:36

Yes thanks @Geminijes I've ordered some for myself too! Love flowers in the house. If Miley Cyrus can but herself flowers, so can we! Don't forget tcb too

Sorry to be a pain but would someone with blue light please check something for me. I asked a while ago about Duke video discount. I always forget to check my blue light. Just remembered it and was delighted it was there. But - keeps saying Failed to load company when I try to get code.
I would appreciate it so much if someone would check and see if it’s doing the same for them. Thank you.

Same thing happening with me. I'm using the app but might be worth trying the website? I can't check for you as can't remember my password to log in on the website sorry!

This looks lovely but @Geminijes I can't see where to enter the code before it asks for my credit card details. Is it after that step?

Ignore: found it!

WhyDoesItAlways · 12/12/2024 15:03

Those waiting on Yodel deliveries, they were in the news a few days ago with big capacity issues and are asking some of their business customers to use another delivery company. It sounds like they have a big backlog processing parcels and a lack of HGV drivers to transport them around.

Oh no 😢 praying DD’s bike does actually arrive then as didn’t know about this :(

Squ1ggle · 12/12/2024 15:15

I'm also having Yodel issues. Not a present luckily (well, a present to myself I suppose, a jacket from Vinted). they reported having delivered it to my local store for pickup 2 days ago but they haven't actually dropped it off. I've been in twice and they are tearing their hair out as well, they are getting loads of agro from a whole bunch of really peeved customers who all think their parcels are there but they're not.

I've done the exact same thing! Did you manage to get the free chocs? It has only let me put one code in but I want both!

hiredandsqueak · 12/12/2024 15:21

I've bought more flowers for dd's tutors as they worked out cheaper with the discount than the pot of bulbs i was going to buy.

ImageMirror · 12/12/2024 15:24

Another one with yodel issues! My item was actually out for delivery on Saturday then I had a notification to say they had attempted to delivery but we weren’t in so they’d deliver the next working day. We were in and checked the CCTV and a yodel van (or any delivery van!) didn’t even come to our house.

Safe to say 4 working days later still no item. I have contacted yodel who said to give it 48 hours to which I pointed out it had been 5 days. I have also contacted the company (Perfect Draft!!) who sent a generic email saying there is a back log of orders. I pointed out my order had been sent out and they sent the same email again! I’m going around in circles

I’ve had literally this. I had a second email later that day but decided to leave it a couple of days to make sure it’s definitely there when I go!

Do you have any recs for which knife he would need?! Can't pass up 40%... He is going to be both happy and cross!

I’m no expert but in Japan they use very thick heavy sharp straight knives for fish. Personally I prefer lighter weight super sharp knives because it gets effortful otherwise. We have hardly any kitchen space so I’d also want a knife for fish cutting plus lots more. This Santoku one is excellent and in constant use. They do wooden presentation boxes (cheaper without box) and will engrave any knife if you want to add a message Santoku with box
If you find smaller knives more comfortable I have this one too which is great for small jobs. Paring knife

Flint & Flame 3.5″ Paring Knife | Flint and Flame

A very useful vegetable knife and a must for every kitchen. Being a short blade, it is perfectly designed for peeling your potatoes, stringing your runner beans and tailing your sprouts. It’s also excellent for making clean and precise cuts in fruits....

That is so helpful, thank you very much. I am a student so let me know if I can repay the favour with any codes!

L’occtaine order arrived today. Postie left it with a neighbour. Just opened it and this is what’s inside. Not bad for £2.40 delivered (samples are in the little navy envelope)

Has a spoilt dog!

Perhaps something related to his dog. On Etsy you can get loads of things from a good photo of a pet. Some people draw or paint from the photo. It's not cheap but they look really good.

It's at the bottom right before you hit 'proceed to checkout' @Nestnearlyempty just underneath the pink band.

Just for today only!
Boots have 20 points per £ spent over £60.
Ive just bought my daughter a Dyson hairdryer for £329 so I’ll get £65.80 back in points!
Honestly, I love these threads but I spend a bloody fortune because of them.Still, if l girl math it I can convince myself I’ve saved money!
Sadly no TCB on Dyson products.

Waystation · 12/12/2024 16:10

Does anyone want any of the elf cosmetics featured in a earlier thread -
I have a few bits going to waste - probably make good stocking fillers - happy to post out.
