I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

If anyone's looking for offers on the Godzilla X King Kong Giants, they're £18.99 and £15 on Amazon, as opposed to £30 everywhere else.

@hugsandpugs excited for primark feedback. I could do with going but haven't got it in me!

I’ve survived but £50 lighter which isn’t toooo bad for me 😂

fishfingersandchipsagain · 17/12/2024 15:09

Ugh, I placed a Nio Cocktails order on Friday, didn’t think to screenshot the confirmation.

Should have been 15% cashback on TBC but it hadn’t tracked, which prompted me to check my card. Still in pending transactions.

Do I risk waiting, and the order might go through? Or do I reorder, and risk ending up with two?

DeathStarCanteenGal · 17/12/2024 15:18

you can never have too many cocktails @fishfingersandchipsagain 😂

BeaLola · 17/12/2024 15:23

Any ideas please for sons new and first serious girlfriend - have only met her a couple of times she is 16 and at college andby Christmas will g go ace been dating for 3 months.

Budget - probably up to £30 max

No idea what she is into - has long hair, doesn't wear much make up

I was thinking an initial necklace ? But maybe too personal ?

Is it from you, or from your son? If from your son the a necklace would be lovely, but not from you if they’ve only been going out a few months. I’d go with nice smellies so it doesn’t come across as being too much.

Ladies, this is the first year I've followed these threads and enjoyed them enormously, had plenty of bargains and I think it'll be a new Christmas tradition for me ❤

Having said that, I need help, I'm twitching hard over one last thing for my 3 and a bit year old. I'm after something under £20 he can play with by himself (so no board games), no more vehicles, nothing really noisy, he's already got gravitrax jnr, loads of duplo and Brio. What's been a hit with your kids of this age, anything really cool? Not so fussed about bargains at this stage plus you've all already saved me a fortune 🙏

hugsandpugs · 17/12/2024 16:13

My bargain of the day from RL shopping.

Jeep socks down to £3.99 a pack and then 3 for 2 so had all 3 sets for £7.98!! 🧦

Our kids (4 and 7) love magnetic blocks (lots of themes available on Amazon), magtiles, play kitchen, playmobil (any sets, but particular the starter house) and you can add to it.

Playdoh! My 4 yo loves it and it gives me time for a cuppa in peace. Or magnetic tiles?

Magnatiles although they can be frustrating until they get used to them.
Something role play ish food from Melisa & Doug -( the ice cream parlour is particularly amazing but over budget)
small (football training) "traffic cones" plus a reflective waistcoat &a plastic hard hat . Can play roadworks all day 🤣
other dressing up like a knight etc

I've seen people mention Stanley Cups on previous threads. If anyone is still looking for one they are on offer today for £35.99 in Lakeland as part of their advent deals - I don't how that compares to previous deals as it isn't something I've needed to buy

Thank you for sharing...I've twitched! Was looking at a dupe on Amazon and they were coming in at £28 so £35 is good. Now just got to keep everything crossed that it gets here for xmas!

£5 bonus when spending £15 on eBay via Quidco. Don’t forget to opt in

Walker12 · 17/12/2024 17:12

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cuddle cushion (adult size) please? I'm sure I've seen them mentioned on previous threads

Oh no you just reminded me that I didn’t use my voucher in greggs earlier - too busy being given a list by my 13 year old!

Thank you@Christmasmcchristmasface

running2 · 17/12/2024 17:47

I've loved these threads so far, thanks everyone.

My sock shop order got lost in transit so they've refunded me as they've sold out of the crackers. Can anyone recommend any other crackers as now I'm quite set on doing something a bit different. Need them to be bargainous like the sock shop ones though...

Also looking for a Chromebook or android tablet for a 7 year old that can cope with homework but also apps like solar smash.

Maiyakat · 17/12/2024 17:56

I ordered from spectrum of misconception (which was recommended here) a couple of weeks ago, I've not had a delivery notification and when I try to email it bounces back as undeliverable. I've sent a message via their website but not heard back from that. Have other people received their orders from here?

handmademitlove · 17/12/2024 18:03

@Joiedepotato busy books with their favourite characters, or if you can find on offer, the melissa and Doug latch set - if you have the kind of 3 year old who likes that sort of thing!
