Thread ?17? the one where I've lost count

I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Absolute bargain and big enough for one of my DS. Many thanks.

No problem 😊 I also ordered some for my oldest DS

onedayatatime73 · 15/12/2024 16:10

Thank you to the poster who recommended Vinted a few threads back. I've never thought before of buying Christmas from there
Have managed to buy
4 board games. All new in sealed boxes. Less than half price.
Christmas PJs for the kids - all new with tags
Some sylvanians for nieces. Not boxed but great condition.
Sorry I can't remember who suggested it but am definitely going to do the same again in future.

Got a good deal on the Lego Minecraft Crafting Table set on Argos. £80 down to £60, then used a £6 voucher and some Nectar points to get it for £46!

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8211482

It's a 18+ build but will be suitable for an older child/teen.

My 10 yo DS built this without help. He is a Lego fanatic though!

Callipygion · 15/12/2024 16:20

I’ve had an email off Argos today with a £6 off a £60 spend, expires midnight tonight, if anyone can use it -

@LetMeJustCheckMyCitrusPocket no ramen at the Jellycat store in The Trafford centre sorry! For anyone thinking of going, it is totally rubbish, I’m not sure whether they’ve sold out of a lot already but my local garden centre has a better choice and it was packed.

theres A stockist local to me called one more bear, they sell loads of jellycats and have an online shop, might be worth trying there?

yoshiblue · 15/12/2024 16:35

@NoWordForFluffy

thanks for letting me know. My son is 11 and again Lego nuts, so should be fine

Could some one find me the cashmere fingerless gloves that were very popular a thread or three ago? They weren't on my radar but have just been mentioned today and I can't find the link.

Try Harrison’s of Greyabbey in NI. There’s no website but you can get their phone number online and they will post if they have it. They have a massive selection.

Was just going to say the same. Can highly recommend them and they have a great Facebook page which shows lots of pictures of their massive range.

fishfingersandchipsagain · 15/12/2024 17:41

I’ve disappeared down a rabbit hole looking for a nice hamper for round about the £50 mark. Needs to have enough in it for 4 people. I was going to go with Laithwaites, but then realised that their £85 hamper is exactly the same one as sold elsewhere for £45, so lost faith in it being good value.

Also looked at Cutter and Squidge, which look good but you don’t seem to get much for your money. I remember there being talk of Chuckling Cheese a few threads ago too? But not sure the recipients would want all cheese.

Any recommendations from someone who has received rather than just sent one?

LOpportunityCestFuckingEnorme · 15/12/2024 17:44

Any recommendation for a company that prints photos onto canvas?

captainflash · 15/12/2024 17:52

@LetMeJustCheckMyCitrusPocket
I saw the Ramen bowl in a Waterstones this afternoon. It’s not available online to order but you can search your local stores for click and collect. It seemed to be available at around 4 different stores with a half hour/45 minute drive to me. Might be worth looking

Does anyone know where still sell Pomsies - they’re little fluffy cats that have tails that wrap round your wrist. They make noises too. My youngest loves her cousins and has asked Santa for one but I can’t find them anywhere. Thanks

Normallynumb · 15/12/2024 18:24

There are Pomsies on Vinted and pre owned on eBay if that's any good?
You can always message sellers for more photos if unsure

Normallynumb · 15/12/2024 18:26

Just checked out of interest and Vinted has some marked brand new

pasinphoebe · 15/12/2024 18:46

Any bright ideas for a (not very exciting!) electric toothbrush? annoyingly missed black friday deals, I’d hoped to spend £20 but everything now on boots and argos is £25. Any ideas / thoughts codes appreciated 🤔

Iwanttoputmytreeup · 15/12/2024 18:55

@pasinphoebe I got one from Home Bargains about a week ago...had pink or black with a travel case for either £20 or £21 something. Might be online too.

IlovePond · 15/12/2024 19:02

@pasinphoebe - I saw some in Lidl this week.

Tombobombo · 15/12/2024 19:42

Hi can anyone please remind me of the board game that people have raved about recently? With online answers? Un-something? Thanks

Sneezein3 · 15/12/2024 19:42

@Flubadubba and @Normallynumb thank you! I had checked Amazon but didn’t fancy paying £30 odd. I’ve ordered the ‘like new’ one and will keep fingers crossed it’s packaged.

Generally I have had pretty good experiences with Amazon Resale (used to be Warehouse)- 99% of the time I haven't been able to yell the difference!
