I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Brilliant It's difficult when they set their heart on something and you can't find it!
I remember searching everywhere for a particular Furby, back in the 90's!

Hi can anyone please remind me of the board game that people have raved about recently? With online answers? Un-something? Thanks

Is it outsmarted?

Ceejadess · 15/12/2024 19:54

I've randomly had 2 argos codes sent to me this week.

This one is 10 off 100 and expires at midnight today

A9GHYZAUNMJN

This one is 10 off 100 and it says it ends midnight on the 18th

Thanks so much for this, I stupidly ordered on Black Friday but totally forgot to pick it up so had to reorder and this helped with losing out on that discount!

LostMyRubySlippers · 15/12/2024 20:18

I’ve disappeared down a rabbit hole looking for a nice hamper for round about the £50 mark. Needs to have enough in it for 4 people. I was going to go with Laithwaites, but then realised that their £85 hamper is exactly the same one as sold elsewhere for £45, so lost faith in it being good value.

Also looked at Cutter and Squidge, which look good but you don’t seem to get much for your money. I remember there being talk of Chuckling Cheese a few threads ago too? But not sure the recipients would want all cheese.

Any recommendations from someone who has received rather than just sent one?

I’m only seeing the Snowy Delights hamper cheaper in places that have a sale and the postage seems dear.

Anyway I had the Starry Night hamper, the Seasons Greetings basket and the Cheese and Wine hamprt which looks to be out of stock. I’ve been really pleased with all of them but the Seasons Greetings basket is particularly lovely. If you used a referral code (if you are a new customer or have someone in the family with another email address) you could get that and another £30 item for £40. I can PM you a referral code if you want or there are plenty to choose from on the bargain referral page.

I decided to get a second tree for my kitchen whilst my hubby was away on holiday 🙈. Has anyone seen multicoloured lights with pinks in it. Thanks

Any suggestions for 5 year old boy? I've just realised I've bought more (In number of gifts) for my DS7. Want to spend very little really, so a cheapy Lego set, hot wheels, monster jam, play doh, kinetic sand, drawing, any suggestions please?

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 15/12/2024 21:08

@fishfishfingersandchipsagain try Hay Hampers, lots of variety and prices to choose from.

Best hamper I ever received was from Inverawe Smokehouse, beautiful smoked salmon. They may be sold out now this close to Xmas.

@fishfingersandchipsagain (and anyone using Etsy!)
if i’m not too late .. Etsy app currently has 50% off for new users. I’ve used this on a hamper from the cornish company :) lots of other hampers on there … I just know this company. Make sure you add the code as an Etsy code at basket not a shop code. Code is GETAPP50 (one use only)
