Thread ?17? the one where I've lost count

I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Sorry, but for the Sock Shop offer. Do they just give you a random gift for the free gift or do you choose something? Thanks.

Use keyworker15, gives you 15% off - at least it did a few days ago

I bought my dad DVDs of films he'd really enjoyed when he was young and then watched them with him. Ditto music.

What are his interests? I bought DS The Times World Puzzle quizzes. I know people have had success with these maps

in the past and also ordnance survey quizz books.

Snackverse Winner!

I asked for a number and got 2 (thanks guys 🫶) so I'll fund one out of my own pocket just to say thank you for the help and niceness this thread has gave me over the years.

I just counted from the bottom upwards, message 2 and 5 are the winners 🏆

@Squ1ggle and @FilthyforFirth you are both winners. Please send me your addresses and I'll sort the box out asap!

I wish so much I could give one to everyone that messaged. Merry Christmas ⛄

This may have been in here but I missed it. 50 items for £40. Free delivery. Make up, small jewellery and accessories. I ordered at the weekend and it has arrived today. Items great for stocking fillers and for teenagers. Really pleased with quality www.everything5pounds.com/collections/beauty-cosmetics

Thanks @stimpy1 I was just randomly browsing the site while on a boring Teams meeting, and I can’t believe I got to 50 items 😱

14% cashback with Quidco with a new account, and free postage, so it came to less that 70p per item.

I got several boring but needed things like nail scissors and tweezers, but also got coloured lip balms, lip glosses, some eye palettes, lip pencils, sparkly hair clips for Christmas, a couple of fun nail varnishes.

Would be fantastic for anyone for tween girl stocking fillers! There were also unicorn hair and make up brushes, necklaces,

Does anyone know where I can find cheap stockings? We have some visitors for Christmas this year and thought I would do everyone a stocking then can't find any really cheap ones!

I ordered some of these for £1.50 and really like them. Postage is quite high but if you are getting a few / also buying some other things like i did its a little more acceptable.

Diddlysee · 13/12/2024 23:23

Can anyone point me in the direction of decent photo albums. I have searching fatigue! A bargain would be preferred, but a decent one (well probably quite a few of them) is important. I have my mum's old photos and want to sort them and put them into albums for her.

Givealittlebit · 13/12/2024 23:39

Just a few last minute bits to get for an awkward husband, any suggestions?

Into retro games. No real hobbies. Likes nuts etc to snack on. Doesn't read, has just brought himself a load of new clothes. Already got boxers, socks, chocs

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 14/12/2024 00:16

Regarding the sock shop loung wear, what are the sizes like please? Dh usually wears a size small in chelsea peers but they have a drawstring. Sock shop don't have a drawstring. Don't want to faff about buying different sizes and sending unsuitable sizes back.
Thank you!

I’m twitching thinking my adult dds need a beauty box. What is a good one and do I still have time!?

Lurleene · 14/12/2024 00:27

Not sure if someone has already shared this. I saw this outdoor version of Throw Throw Burrito in The Entertainer for 6.99, an 80% discount apparently.

I had an email from Bridal Beauty Co that they are launching new boxes this morning after 7am. Each is priced at £30 and includes Charlotte Tilberry. I've had several from them and they are always good!

Can anyone please recommend one of those beauty pod things? Doesn’t have to be a huge bargain, just one that is well made. I was originally going to get one of the Debenhams ones, but they had similar in Aldi and they seemed very flimsy.

Maybe something like this instead? But a recommendation would be good.

I bought recently from Amazon a brand called Vtopmart to keep makeup etc in.

clear boxes with drawers, different sizes that stack and they are great.

often have Amazon offers on.
