I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Here is the link: https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/house-of-fraser/the-beauty-bag-751248

Anyone know a way to serve the £5 delivery at House of Fraser?
or if this bag is available in store?
House of Fraser | The Beauty Bag | Multi | FRASERS

Edited

I don’t think you can swerve the delivery charge. It is quite steep but I usually order a few things to make it worth it. The beauty bag is a very good deal

Is anyone going to Aldi tonight and wants my £1.25 festive treat code from Vodafone? I’m not going out tonight and won’t use it.

Hi, Lovisa have their jewellery advent calendars reduced to £9.

They would make a nice gift for a teen/tween.

Unfortunately delivery is £4.95, (I think), but free for orders £25+.

https://www.lovisa.co.uk/search?q=Advent%20calendar

Plus, there is 25% off all sterling silver jewellery - no code needed as it’s automatically applied.

There’s also a free gift with orders over £30 - a choice between two necklaces and two earrings - all four are quite decent free gifts.

Thanks for this. The code APP20 gives you 20% so the calendars were only £7.20!

Has anyone used discount dragon before? Placed an order with them a few days ago had an order confirmation but nothing since!

On the upside DD bike arrived today with yodel! 😊

I’ve used discount dragon a lot with no problems.
Great your bike arrived. Panic over.

IlovePond · 13/12/2024 18:28

That’s brilliant @boobybum - glad it was helpful!

I’m getting DH a record player from marketplace as a Christmas surprise. Where is the best place to get vinyls from for him? He is into reggae x

See if you've got a local independent record store - there are still lots around! They are usually better value and the staff will be able to recommend some good stuff as well.

Have a look on here for your nearest www.recordstoreday.co.uk/store-locator/

Anyone need a regatta discount code? I’ve got a 15% off one if it’s of use to anyone

ArthurChristmas22 · 13/12/2024 19:37

@Cupofteaandbiscuits my advice (based on my DH) would be to do him an IOU and make a day out of vinyl shopping, there's a group that tours markets, so we managed to get 2 or 3 in the same weekend. Trying to guess what he'd like is a disaster!!!

Anyone want a code for 25% off oddballs? Works on their already reduced items.

I get a new code everyday this week til 15th and I’ve already ordered twice this week 🙈 so trying not to order anymore 😂

Yes please! That would be brilliant

SugarIsHardtoAvoid · 13/12/2024 19:56

Could you buy him just one to start him off from HMV etc, maybe a favourite album?

2 for £20 with the code LOUNGE20
further 10% off with the code Socknews10

and if you order over £40 free delivery and a free gift

Sorry, but for the Sock Shop offer. Do they just give you a random gift for the free gift or do you choose something? Thanks.

Florence19791 · 13/12/2024 19:59

please can I have some help, really struggling for ideas with my 75 yr old dad. Last year I got him an air fryer and that never got used.
Would be good to get him some sort of boredom buster type thing but I’ve done jigsaws to death, he doesn’t have the dexterity for model making. Any ideas please?

Bugger the Liverpool strip we ordered from China has just emailed to say we will get a refund - they can't fulfill. I don't know why, I'd assume they're not hard to find! Am now faced with buying one from the Liverpool shop ☹️😳

For a stocking filler gift would he manage a Eugy kit?
www.hobbycraft.co.uk/eugy-3d-koala-model/6572071000.html

Would Baker Ross type craft kits be suitable? Or weaving, soap making that type of thing? Would he bake?
