I have no idea what thread number we're on now Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Just a word of warning on bridal beauty kits. A lot of people, including me, bought the one that they dropped last weekend. There were two products that were promised in it, and they are not at all what was advertised. There was supposed to be a hand wash set in it. It came as two separate products and some people, again, including me, actually got a shower gel and a hand lotion. A Charlotte Tilbury discovery set was advertised, but it came as 5 or 6 individual perfume samples. I can see in the new ones that they are telling you that they are just samples, but it was definitely advertised to us last weekend as a proper kit, which people thought they’d be able to give away as a gift.

If you go over to the style and beauty board, and read the beauty advent calendars thread you will see a few reviews. The boxes were still good value for the money, but it was very disappointing because a lot of people bought them specifically for the advertised products.

There was also some talk earlier in that thread about bridal beauty deleting negative comments and also using people’s real names to put up fake reviews.

Huge bargains on Disney’s Wish toys on the Entertainer. Search ‘wish’ and loads come up but a few highlights:
40cm plush star £6.50 one of the cheapest giant plushes I have seen!
Lovely Singing light-up jewellery box £8.99 from £30 - saw this in Smyths and it played the whole song.
Dress-up chest with two outfits £11.99 from £39.99 age 4-6
Polly Pocket-style mini playset £5.40 from £18

There are LOADS of others, several goat toys and Barbie-style dolls.

I just ordered a Sekonda watch. Reduced from £55 with 30% off, then an extra 10% for signing up to their emails. Just shy of £35 posted which I am very happy with.

Turtleoo · 14/12/2024 07:39

I posted this on the voucher code board but didn't get any takers - I won a Greggs sweet treat on the O2 snowglobe and won't use it - would anyone like it? Will need to email it to you

Has anyone used discount dragon before? Placed an order with them a few days ago had an order confirmation but nothing since!

On the upside DD bike arrived today with yodel! 😊

Yes, used them often.

Takes a good 4 or 5 days to dispatch, then you get a message to say.

I had mine delivered yesterday too. I got body lotion, shower gel, facial oil and a hand cream, some of it is quite bashed too. I’ve ordered 3 bags in total in the last few weeks and the previous 2 were definitely better. I also thought it was a hand care kit I’d be able to gift

IlovePond · 14/12/2024 08:14

@Stelmosfire1 - if you contact BB and tell them you are very disappointed, it was false advertising and you are annoyed at the condition the goods arrived in, they will probably offer you a partial refund. That’s the resolution that was - eventually- offered to the people who complained on the other thread.

I’ve emailed now, I saw someone had left a review with the same complaint and they replied to say they have reached out to her by email. I understand if there is lots of demand but I ordered before they had officially gone live with the offer so can’t imagine they ran out that quickly

IlovePond · 14/12/2024 08:36

Good luck @Stelmosfire1 - they have corrected the details of their latest offering, obviously due to customer complaints.

They state on their website very prominently that shipping in time for Christmas has passed (take note of unclear advertising, Bridal Beauty Box Confused) but awesome Whistlefish offer at mo ...

3 x free packs of 2 gift wraps when you spend £20 after discounts

This will stack with their site offer at mo of 20 Christmas cards (get them for next year) for £10, discount automatically applied. Website says - Online only Ends Monday Offer excludes stamps, gift cards, and delivery | Wrap packs must be added to the basket, and discount will activate when the basket total is £25 (inc. wrap), saving you £5

Free delivery on £25+ after discounts

If you find you are below any thresholds their candles are very cute.

Will also stack with a £5 referral credit (see referral board) - I have posted mine so huge love to anyone who uses it as I'll get a fiver too Grin

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 14/12/2024 08:44

Sorry should say take note of very clear advertising Grin

I have lodged an appeal to tcb but no, heard nothing yet. Can you remember what the % was? I think it was about 45%?

Daimyum · 14/12/2024 09:19

I've just looked on the tcb account, a superdrug spend from 7th September has just tracked today. So, it usually takes some time for them to go through. But make sure you lodge an appeal so it doesn't get lost

lakesiders · 14/12/2024 09:25

It was 45% @Daimyum

fishfingersandchipsagain · 14/12/2024 09:30

Thanks @toooldforbrat I’ll take a look at those.

Not that I need another one since I bought the Dunelm Mill crossover one.
