Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I have. I had to chase them up though. They said I’d been issued a refund but nothing appeared in my account. I emailed and it appeared a couple of days later. Did yours get ‘lost’ in transit?

What was the sock shop loungewear deal?

Their loungewear is two for £20 with the code LOUNGE20. Can mix and match between mens and womens.

Also a further 10% off with the code Socknews10
which stacks with the lounge 20 code.

Free delivery and a choice of a free gift (choice of boxers/socks) when you spend £40

@hugsandpugs @nightcap What is the sizing like on the loungeware? I've just had a look and the smallest is 10. I'm an 8 but wondered if they are true to size? (In other words would I be ok with baggy or will it swamp me?)

I’m in between a 10 and 12, I went for a 12 cause I wasn’t sure how the sizing was either and they fit me perfectly. Roomy but not massively baggy if that makes sense. I think a 10 would have been tighter than I’d have liked X

@wibdib this phone holder is really good. 4 of my friends also bought one after seeing it in my car.

Thank you, that’s exactly the sort of thing I was hoping to get a recommendation for - that’s great! Will give it a go :)

I have to say a huge thanks to the poster/s who recommended the loungewear from Sock Shop. I dithered for a while then put in an order of loungewear (for me) and socks (for the family).

After I bought it was having buyer's regret thinking 'I really don't need any of this' but it arrived today and oh my gawwwdddd the lounge wear is incredibly soft and comfortable! Am now considering another order... Apologies I have no idea who posted it originally but thank you!

Edited

I don't need any more socks. I already had the sock advent calendar. I DON'T NEED ANY MORE SOCKS...... oh darn, looks like I'm buying some socks and some lounge wear 🤣 🐑🐑🐑

wibdib · 10/12/2024 21:44

Can’t believe I managed to do a big stick shop order and couldn’t get the freebie or the 2 for 20 to work, and just ordered anyway as I was tired and didn’t want to miss out. Just missed out on the discount and the freebie. Argh. What was it in the end? Have I missed anything good?!

elb1504 · 10/12/2024 21:44

I've also decided to order from sockshop 🐑 Currently quite pregnant so hoping the loungewear bottoms can be comfy for post partum!

IlovePond · 10/12/2024 21:57

Thanks @LostMyRubySlippers and @hugsandpugs

I haven’t followed this thread due to other pressures, so apologies if it’s been asked a million times…
has anyone got a discount code for Smyths? I think I’ve missed the £10 off £100 ☹️

why, yes, yes I do. Thank you for asking.

it lasted about 8-10 years and I drink a lot of hot drinks. I didn’t replace it with another as my wifi is now shit.

Twonka · 10/12/2024 22:06

Could anyone recommend somewhere like Sephora or look fantastic that offers free delivery? I’m after a £10 voucher but it would be a bit of a crappy gift if £4 of it went on p&p
thanks

Sneezein3 · 10/12/2024 22:09

Thank you to those who suggested sticker makers - I’ve only just managed to catch back up.

i am now looking for x30 pairs of socks (preferably Xmas or fluffy) for team gifts. I need them as cheap as possible delivered by next Thursday, can anyone suggest anywhere?

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 10/12/2024 22:09

The sock shop advent and loungewear was one of my fave buys, it arrived today. The advent is for me to strip as I have no nice socks left! But it is beautiful and an absolute steal. I would happily have bought this as a standard advent in future years. The loungewear is for DH and although I havent opened them, came in individually wrapped bags which look rather smart. So chuffed as he loves their boxers. Thanks so much for the tipoff

The sock shop advent calendar socks are down to £29.99 for 25 pairs if that’s any good?

ruralwanderer · 10/12/2024 22:15

@Sneezein3 , have you looked at Vera Tucci? They were doing mystery bundle of 10 pairs of fluffy socks for a tenner last year and arrived really quickly. Only downside is some of them are mink so though they're really warm and comfy, I question my ethics every time I wear them.

IlovePond · 10/12/2024 22:19

@Twonka - except for special offers, (like around BF), all the places like Sephora, LF and Allbeauty usually have a minimum spend to avoid delivery charges. (Sometimes it’s possible to find a free delivery code, but it’s by no means guaranteed that there’ll be one available.)

I know many people like to avoid Amazon gift cards, but if you want your recipient to avoid extra delivery charges, (especially if they have prime/can sign up for a trial), then an Amazon gift card may be the way forward. You can get lots of the main beauty brands on Amazon and pay with an Amazon gift card.

Alternately, if your recipient can get to a store, you could get a voucher for SpaceNK or Sephora. However, in-store there’s very little for £10, (there’s a bigger choice of things under £10 online, but then, of course, there’s delivery!)

IlovePond · 10/12/2024 22:25

Apparently I am not eligible for the Moonpig free card 😿.

More worryingly, my account brought up my last order from early December two years ago as I haven’t logged onto MP since then.

I was horrified to see that I had made two orders for Xmas from two years ago and they are - apparently - still in transit! I had completely forgotten that they had never arrived 🙀

Note to self: Keep better track of what I have ordered 🙈🙈🙈
