Posting on behalf of @reastie hope you don’t mind 🎄 🎅

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.
It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.
Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!
@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps
A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:
It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
No affiliate links
No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
Be nice or leave
If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes
The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.
To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk
Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)
So starhellostar would look like this.
hello
Obviously use the * not the word star
Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

This looks like a lovely set. It's an extra 20% off instore with a sparks card but stock seems limited in the local stores I've checked

Another request for help please, DD 11 has asked for goalkeeper gloves, I have no clue

The Abel and Cole farce continues, as they've now re-charged me for the refund they gave me last week! 🙈

Also, I went to put a second order on, and the 'free' Prosecco added itself to the order costing £13.50. However, they only deducted £10 from the order, so I was going to have to pay £3.50 for it. I cancelled the order.

Rumbles on for me too - they have now said they'll refund £10 as a goodwill gesture but haven't actually done it yet.

They also said they won't send Prosecco.

And I opened the pastel de nata I bought from them today - mouldy!

Leipling · 09/12/2024 16:50

My Abel & Cole arrived today. Got the free Prosecco, £10 off and a free bottle of passata. Sounds like I was pretty lucky

I got the same! Very happy. However I shared the deal with my sister who lives a mile away and she only got the free passata, no Prosecco! Bizarre.

Just Keepers - (Online )

She will prob need 7.5-8 but does depend on her size
So make sure you keep the receipt

Does she have a colour kit they need to go with or know the colour she will like?

What kind of gloves has she got already?
Does she play for a team if so, you could ask her coach what kind of gloves would be best
Its not a simple, go in and get some

@noodledoodler my DS has these, he’s not always in goal but they must do the job as they’re usually shared between five lads taking turns 🥰. I’d say you probably want a size 5. You could also search up what colour the keeper of her favourite team wears. 🎄

might help if I add the link

Has anyone got any good ideas for MIL/FIL - in there 70’s

MIL: likes dog walks, joules style clothing, cooking, tennis (Andy Murray), reading occasionally, would probably like beauty stuff

FIL: likes games, interesting facts, cups of tea, Bletchley park

How about a hamper with nice biscuits and tea, plus a book each that they would enjoy and a game they can play together?

If you’d prefer individual gifts, I got MIL a lovely soft scarf from Joules outlet if there’s one near you, and they had some lovely tops as well (or they may have some offers online). For beauty, M&S usually do some nice things this time of year

For FIL I’d still be tempted to do a hamper with a book, tea and biscuits

DM has just decided that she needs some gardening gloves which can withstand brambles but "aren't too thick" - are there such a thing? I would have thought bramble proof = heavy duty?

Look at Must Have Ideas. They have some flexible, long gardening gloves. Dh gas got me them for Christmas! £20 but there's always offers if you sign up for emails. Also they usually send me free postage if I leave something in my basket.
