Advent Calendars

Do many of you have advent calendars? Or do you not bother?

I have a Tony’s Chocolonely one this year!

I always have a picture one. DD has Cult Pens.

I have a Colin the Caterpillar one and a Build a Bear one. Cos why not.

I also make one up for my husband, so this year I've separated a Lego set and put it into 24 hessian bags (instructions are PDF I'm not a heathen).

That’s a fab idea! I’ve seen someone do that with the Home Alone set!

Just a Cadbury's one (although I accidentally bought a Maltesers one and, when I realised, I ate the lot)!

I’ve got a wine one!

DH has a Lindt one (requested)
DD1 has a coffee one
DS1 has a rum one
DS2 didn’t want one
DD2 has a wine one

DS2 will get an extra xmas present.

He didn’t want an advent calendar at all?!

I have a haribo one and a swizzles sweets one (couldn’t decide) and then Dp bought me a kinder bueno one..
got my mum a Yankee candle one.
Ds has a lynx and a Lindor teddy one then decided he fancied a cadburys one aswell.
dd has a soap and glory one and a pick your own Lindor balls one and then decided she’d buy herself a kinder bueno one.
dp has a Lindor, hotel chocolat and a haribo one.
yes I know it’s a lot but hey that’s how we do it… tbf I take mine to work in the morning and eat them when I need a sugar rush.

I’d love to have this much self control with Lego, as soon as I get a Lego set I have to finish the same day.

I love advent calendars and have made two as gifts so far. I now have none for myself, so am avidly reading what ones everyone else has, that would work as a gift from me to me.

Just a Cadbury one. I dont enjoy expensive one (beauty etc) because I don't use any 'products' and if I did I would want to choose them. I'm just too fussy for most of them to work for me

ive looked at the jigsaw ones this year, but didn't get around to ordering one. I might order one after Christmas so I have one in for next year.

I’ve got a space nk one, dh doesn’t have one, dc have got Tony’s chocolonely (dc1), kinder (dc2) and Lindt (dc3). Dc2 also has an asos beauty one requested as a birthday present from her nanna!
we are both so excited about Sunday 😂

I've got a Where's Wally one. I like to have to really hunt for the right door.

My husband has a Tiptree one (he has toast and jam every day for breakfast)

My daughter has a wax melts one

My granddaughter has a Toblerone one (never found a Bounty one, which probably would have been her preference)

My oldest son has a Lindt one
My grandson (autistic) has a fidget toy one

My youngest son (he's 32!) has a Star Wars Lego one

No one ever gets me one 😢

I have a tea one, my son has an LFC one, my fosterling has a personalised one and a Cadbury one

Having never had one as a child, I always treat myself a ‘little pictures’ one, and buy one each for the Gdcs. Perhaps surprisingly for children born into the chocolate Advent Calendar era, they still enjoy opening the little windows every day.
Must say I was appalled at first, many years ago, to realise that the chocolate ones didn’t have little pictures, too!

DH and I always have a paper one and take turns in opening it. I get the even numbers because I am a spoilt only child so have the 24th and the best picture.

Honestly the man is a saint.

I have a gorgeous German one of a row of houses (it folds out). Not chocolate but little illustrations behind each window. As a kid I used to make advent calendars, carefully cutting the windows and positioning the second layer of illustrations.

I usually have a traditional one alongside a special one. This year I have The Book Lovers Advent Calendar which I am very excited about.
Ds(19) has a fabric one with pockets you fill yourself. He still loves it. I rack my brains trying to think of things to put in it.
Occasionally, the 3 of us share one too, like the year we had The Office one - which was amazing.
Dh doesn't usually bother but I might treat him to a Cadburys this year.

I have got a bath and body type one from amazon. Also ordered a wax melt one as was on offer for black friday.

I have a Happy Socks one this year! Such an extravagance but I wanted it SO much and have done for years 😂

The elf will bring them all tonight!

To go in December 1st boxes I'll drop off tomorrow. Yes they're all adults, yes it's OTT, no I don't care - I'm living my best Christmas Fairy life.

I've got a jigsaw one which was a gift from my DS and a hotel chocolat one .

My DH bought me a Lindt chocolate one and I actually got myself the Holland & Barrett one as well though I went through it and got all the things out I wouldn't use and gave them to a local charity for their tombola.

I bought DH a Bonne Maman jam one which he is very pleased with.

I've also got a fabric one with pockets which I'll put chocolate coins in for ds when he comes home from uni.

Just got DD a Cadburys calendar.

Which reminds me, I must leave it out tonight!
