Thread 14 - the one with BLACK FRIDAY!

1000 replies

Reastie · 26/11/2024 07:55

I think I always (or nearly always!) call the one with Black Friday this name. I'm assuming this thread will see us through the weekend and I'm not premature!!! Make sure you keep your Black Friday bargains genuine bargains - not everything that looks reduced actually is as good a deal as it looks.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

PLouise, I’m sure I read something about this but can’t find it now. Any bargains please?

They have up to 50% off for their black friday sale so some good savings, no codes or anything

Annie1290 · 27/11/2024 23:27

Gymshark have a sale on, and there's an extra 24% off sales items with the code 'CARYS10' if you order before 9am tomorrow.

Just got two pairs of leggings, a t shirt and sports bra for £76 incl delivery

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 27/11/2024 23:31

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I think it's maybe just on some cards as every one I liked, it wouldn't work for and on my last attempt on an 'it'll do' card, it worked. So play about and try different cards.

LittleMousewithcloggson · 27/11/2024 23:32

50% off mancave shower gels for Black Friday
highly recommend them

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 27/11/2024 23:40

@hugsandpugs it was A5 I tried and should have all been fine but kept giving me an error when entering the code, saying code was valid but not for the item in my basket.

I've managed to get it to work now by refreshing the page a few times on the original card I wanted. Worth the hassle for 1p though so I'm happy as that's my dad's 70th birthday card sorted early ☺️

I think someone mentioned about a discount code for the happy puzzle company? I can’t find the post so if anyone knows can you repost please? Has anyone bought from them before? I’m tempted to buy a couple of puzzles but there’s very little info and wondering if they’re decent, get your teeth into puzzles or a couple of minutes and done thing. Anyone had any experience? Kids are very into/good at puzzles…

Ardagusdubh · 27/11/2024 23:45

Oh, specifically meant the Sherlock holmes ones!

PMAmostofthetime · 28/11/2024 00:08

@Oreyt if you go into a store and show them your order they will give you more boxes and bags x

EvilHerbivore · 28/11/2024 00:17

Does anyone happen to know a code for Debenhams at all please?

PinkSkiesAtNight · 28/11/2024 05:12

Joop! HOMME Eeau de Toilette reduced on Amazon, various sizes. The 200ml is down to £26.60 instead of £88!

Joop

I'm not sure my partner would like this , but I'm tempted to buy it for me to sniff, an ex boyfriend had it and I bloody love it 🤣
Could I wear it myself???

Can anyone help please? Need gifts for a 14 year old unknown girl (for the Tesco gift giving). Says nothing about the girl and what she’d like at all. Budget is around £25. I’m thinking as I know nothing about her to get lots of different types of little gifts eg some body spray, art stuff, a book etc in the hope that she likes something. Or maybe a voucher would be better. Any ideas where for? Any ideas much appreciated!

White slouch socks
body sprays
necklace, bracelet
nice notebook, pens, sticky notes
flat clay beads set

Has anyone had an Aquila magazine subscription for their kids? I think my daughter would like it but I feel it seems a little pricey. Was wondering if it’s worth the price.

I would say it far outweighs any childrens magazine at the newsagents

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 28/11/2024 06:37

The vtech kids dj mixer is back down to £29.99 on amazon

Morning! Wondering if anyone might be able to help me out with a Magic Mixies situation. I got swept along by the bargain talk and picked up one from Argos but I have twins and they only had one available. I’ve been checking over the last couple of weeks but they don’t seem to be getting any more in. I also tried ordering in store but there were none available to order. Amazon do have it but at nearly double the price!

Has anyone come across them anywhere else for closer to £20? Or would anyone happen to live nearby to Edgware Argos to pick one up?

Thanks so much in advance x

My DD11 will be walking to school by herself next year. Is there such thing as a watch that will fit her wrist whereby I can track her movements but doesn't need her phone?

Sorry not read the whole thread.

Not sure if there is a watch, but my kids have AirTags on their key rings to keep track of them.
