Thread 13 - the one where I'm dashing for the school run!

1000 replies

Reastie · 22/11/2024 07:25

Apologies for the rubbish title - I'm trying to get the kids ready and don't want my daughter to miss the bus!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@Ewock - Currys currently have a selection down to 11.99 (usually 14.99). The new book style ones are £9 but haven't seen any on offer yet.

BOGOF at The Essence Vault. Lovely dupes, we’ve all had several from there and are always very pleased.

Can anyone recommend a rechargeable reading light? The type that clips on to your book. There’s loads on Amazon but would be grateful if anyone’s tried them which ones they’d recommend

Fuckingfuckssake · 25/11/2024 11:48

Sigh. Here is the link to the referrals thread, as mentioned in the OP, where the referrals are put to not only avoid clogging up this thread but to keep it fair and give everyone a chance, I think it's a bit grabby posting on here tbh. You all know this.

Really pleased with the Yoto sale! Because everything stacks I've managed to get a story pack of cards, and two individual ones - used yoto club, yoto points, and BF discount so I've paid for £2.74 posted!

Just hope DC like them 🙈

Happy to share 10% referral code which stacks

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 25/11/2024 11:55

woodwaj · 25/11/2024 11:58

It looks like there's an extra 20% off the 3 for 2 gifts at boots. Discount is already applied so no code needed

evtheria · 25/11/2024 11:59

@Nearlyadoctor
I gifted this one earlier this year and they said it was perfect. I actually paid more via another site, think this is a bargain price.

I’ve got this one for music on a music stand. Clips on the book or the middle of the stand. It’s great for that. Lasts ages and then charged with a usb. Not sure if this is the type you mean.

Thanks for the lush info @DeathStarCanteenGal and @redjoker might as well get it all now out of the way then. (I know someone said they don’t like ‘thank you’ posts but my ‘thanks’ button doesn’t seem to be working and I feel rude not responding when someone’s helped!)

Nearlyadoctor · 25/11/2024 12:12

@evtheria and @Justkeepsmilingx thats brilliant thank you 🤩. They were both ones I was looking at as an extra for DH ( might treat myself as well 🙄)

Dreamingofwalden · 25/11/2024 12:19

Those of you looking for fluffy socks for men I recommend Seasalt. I was gifted some a few years ago and they are much better quality than Primark etc. I assume the men's are similar quality. Definitely pricier but they do currently have 25% off for BF. Men's Fluffies Socks Short - Seasalt Cornwall

Men's Short Fluffies Socks

A men's version of our famous Fluffies®. These super soft and warm socks are made using recycled fibres. Just slip them on and relax - perfect after a day on the high seas.

I'm looking for bed socks/sleep socks for a size 5 male please? Something a bit more substantial than the primark fluffy type. Has anyone any suggestions please?
Thank you!

I just bought some from tu- ds loves them and has asked for more, they are Sherpa lined and really thick

Slightlydustcovered · 25/11/2024 12:31

I'm struggling to find these?
I've found some blue heat holder ones on Tu but they look more purple coloured. Men's are too big and ladies are very pale coloured! 🙈

Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho · 25/11/2024 12:37

Regarding the celtic socks, sorry to be a pain! They all look quite thin, regular socks. I've tried looking on the site but can't find any bed socks type? Am I doing something wrong?

Amazonmulu · 25/11/2024 12:38

@Firsttimeposter121 sure will pm now x
