@Twitchyeyebrow if he has particular interests could you get themed pyjamas, oodie, artwork, blanket, pillow etc to bulk out the other gifts.
Other things such as headphones, projector lamp, pens/colouring/art supplies (need replacing regularly).

@Twitchyeyebrow I share your pain, have autistic son and daughter, their rooms are heaving with stuff, even worse now they can buy whatever they want as well. I tip our postman generously for their neverending parcel habits.
At Christmas I have cut right down usually I buy them a lego kit, son likes the car ones and daughter botanicals, a ps5 game for son and a switch one for dd and a stocking of stuff that fits their interests but cheaply interspersed with stationary, socks and a little tat.

This is what I did with mine to try and make them look more like a gift

Beautiful. DP has put them in the garage for now, all sealed up in zip lock as mentioned by PP to stop the house smelling like the lush shop!

I'll be wrapping them like this though, looks fab.

Tbf @Bogginsthe3rd your message did come across rude with the "dear god" and "mental"..... I'm not sure why you're surprised people would have taken it badly?

I love planning for Christmas, it makes me happy and helps me feel in control, I get overwhelmed very easily and if I left all the shopping to December it would genuinely send my anxiety into overdrive so the "mental" comment stung a bit.

For lots of people, they need to spread the cost throughout the year, or they like bargain hunting, or they just plain enjoy it. These threads have saved me hundreds over the years and we keep ourselves tucked into the Christmas corner of Mumsnet so it does grate when numerous people drop onto the threads with "it's too early" comments.

V good deals on Scrabble, Monopoly, Cluedo and Twister on Amazon - I always like to get a game to put away for Christmas (or the period between Christmas and New Year)

Does anyone have a link to the predicted dates for toy sales please? I’m sure I saw someone posted one because I remember Smyths toys being on there. Have searched on Google but can only find money tips 2023 one.

@Twitchyeyebrow - I agree with the previous posters’ suggestions. I just wanted to add that, if considering an Oodie, they sell cushion covers that you can stuff the Oodie into when not being worn, (which saves space and also creates a cushion!)

Other suggestions

Computer game codes for use on Steam, (you can print off and put into a card to open). I think you can also buy computer game codes from Amazon, rather than a physical item. Both options reduce ‘stuff’ in the house.

Online subscription to something such as Duolingo family, (again you could create a card to go with it).

Perhaps something that could double up as ‘for the house’ if your DS ends up not being interested in it, such as an under desk fitness cycle - Amazon currently has one for £33.99.

Maybe a bit random, but new curtains/quilt/lampshade/rug/slippers/lamp - replacing things rather than adding to what’s already there.
