Best time for advent calendars is usually March-may when online has left over stock to clear

End of summer sales are brilliant bargain hunting times

Had an email from Lidl saying they have 50% off sale starting on Thurs 5th on all their ‘middle of lidl’ stuff. Can see some items included, homeware etc, as well as twister splash game down to £5, but not the full details of what they will be stocking…

Has anyone seen and offers for a "dryrobe" type thing (not the branded one) ideally less than £50 if such a thing exists...

Looking for one for a friend so adult sized rather than kids

Regatta have some at decent prices

Luhou · 02/09/2024 22:12

Not sure if already been posted but spotted on JL this morning, also price matched at amazon. Lovely gift for babies/todlers

@MtClair what about a panini press or toastie maker? This one is on offer on Amazon and has a waffle plate too.

Ahh this is amazing. I have one child who wants a toaster maker and another who wants a waffle maker. I can see a joint present being bought. Thanks

Petal7 · 02/09/2024 22:35

Jenga, Boggle, Game of Life and Trivial Pursuit (Family edition) are also great deals on Amazon. We love a game!

I check things on there far more often than is probably healthy!

Some Harry Potter/Super Mario/Architecture Lego on offer there too.

IlovePond · 02/09/2024 22:39

@PurpleSock - Debenhams online have some for under £60.

I got a thin one for £36 from MW - I wish I had held out for a thicker one with longer arms, but not bad for the price.

Just a heads up

On a thread in previous years, someone said how their son was so confused that they got them deodorant. They were autistic and couldn't wrap their head around why someone would buy you something so everyday. I asked my autistic son if he felt the same and he admitted that, yes, he had always wondered what my fascination was with getting weird things like socks and deodorant 😂😂

I never even thought about it!

Gracesquirrel · 02/09/2024 23:52

Does anyone have any recomendations on where to buy a reasonably decent Telescope for a 10 year old? Preferaby one that he can use with his phone to take pictures etc. Budget up to £150 but ideally a bit less if possible.

Confusedmeanderings · 02/09/2024 23:54

I lost you all for a while. Have I missed much?!

Yalz · 03/09/2024 01:52

There are probably better Lego bargains in-store, as mentioned above, but if like me you only shop online at Sainsbury’s they do have some kits at 2 for £15 like this one, which seems to be about £13 elsewhere.

Yalz · 03/09/2024 02:08

It’s not the one which several of us bought last year, but Boots has a Light up mirror for £10 on £10 Tuesday (£9 if you have an advantage card) which might be a useful gift. Unfortunately it needs batteries: last year’s had a plug.

The Disney Baby Changing Backpack might be a good buy on the same offer for £10 instead of £59.95.

I’d be happy if someone gave me the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour body cream, and had paid £10, usually £29.95.

Yalz · 03/09/2024 02:20

There are other Disney baby items in the £10 Boots offer, like the Milestone blanket or the ABC blanket whose sole review is discouraging, but the reviews are better elsewhere on the internet. Both are normally just under £25.

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 03/09/2024 07:16

I know game of life was talked about a lot in a previous year. I’ve just ordered for a joint present for DC xx

Thank you! I was waiting for junior cluedo to come down!

i can’t decide between regular Cleudo or the junior version. Could a 9 and 8 year old handle the normal version?

We brought the regular version when our DS was about 9, he needed a bit of prompting on how to play, but soon picked it up.

We played one called Outfoxed yesterday which was basically Junior Cluedo. Was good fun.

Grr missed this deal as missed the old thread filling up and missed the start of the new one!!

Must pay more attention!!

Ladybaga · 03/09/2024 08:55

Does anyone know if the £12ish prices of Junior Monopoly and Junior Cluedo are the best they are likely to be this year? We are moving house so trying not to buy too much unless it's unlikely to drop again. Thanks :)

purplepandas · 03/09/2024 09:21

Unlikely anyone is specifically after Lego Artemis but I was and has been reduced from £219.99 to £186.97 on Amazon. Birthday gift really but all good! Thanks for these amazing threads.

This is a long shot but if anyone can help it’s you guys.

Dd2 recently got a bundle of Betty Spaghetty dolls from a charity shop and has fallen in love.

they seem to be mega £££ on eBay etc. I am not on Facebook. Any ideas where I can get her a little bundle? Preferably for the same price of £2 that we found in charity shop 😂
