Hi all. So for the first time ever I will be hosting Christmas Day dinner in my home.

And to that end, I've decided to give my house a massive clean, declutter & reorganisation (very badly needed!).

I've worked out there are 16 weekends to Christmas (well actually 17 but I want to use the last one for food prep) so I'm dividing my house into 16 sections & going to spend one day every weekend on a different section.

I'm starting this weekend. Would anyone like to join?

The Very new customer discounts specifically exclude gaming now, so that's not a goer.

I got a gift card via our work discount offering which meant I got 6% off. I was more keen to make sure I had it (as I've promised it to ASD DS) than wait for any potential discount. I got a Mario / steering wheel bundle from Curry's.

I’ve got no decluttering done this weekend. There’s been a few bereavements recently and I think we all just went into slump mode.
Sometimes sorting kids stuff is like playing ‘is it cake’ like the TV show. You hold up a scrap of something that looks like rubbish (a stick, a badge, a broken plastic man) and it’s 50/50 if it’s rubbish, or actually an incredibly precious belonging.

I've had my flu jab today ouch
Taking dd2 to an apppointment later
I've hoovered downstairs, done a wash, put a load away, sterilised the travel mugs and cleaned the extractor hood filters
I think we are going back to dhs uncles house later...more stuff to sort through!
It feels like it will never end 😩

Label up the DC's new winter coats.
Prepare and cook the start of spiced quince and apple jelly - it will strain overnight.
Go through the present stash, and fill in my Christmas planner correctly.

26/10 Hallway, stairs and landing, incl airing cupboard: DH has had to find yet another plasterer, who has been to give a quote and says he can do the job in a 'couple of weeks'. I'll ensure the area is cleaned and clear this week so there will be nothing to hold him up!

Can't decorate and order carpet until it is done; if plasterer doesn't fit us in by the end of this month we will be pushing it to get finished for Christmas. Ah well.

This weekend we are decluttering the conservatory and wiping away all the cobwebs. I am dreading it 🕷️🕸️😱

So, I've done some ironing🧺
I might go for a walk round the fair later and get some chips 🍟 😀

We've been to a couple of lovely garden centres today and picked up some beautiful Christmas decorations . I've come home vacummed done some washing and put that away. Relaxing now in front of the fire planning on ordering in a curry for dinner so looking forward to that . Jobs next week are to sort out old toys with the children and take them to the charity shop.

Sorting through winter bedding as its getting bally cold at night now .
We don't wait till Christmas though , DD demands hers right after Hallowe'en .

I've been looking through the old stuff to recycle so that can go out

I got DS to go round the skirting boards with one of those eraser cleaner blocks and warm water , then I mopped the floors last night ,

Going to scrub the shower mat exciting!
Been to m&s for some steak for dinner 🍽
No baking today...I can't be bothered 😕

Are you going to RTFI (read the flipping instructions ) or just wing it ?

We got a new WM and TB earlier this year and there were two huge manuals to plough through.
So many cycles on these - I only use a few of them.

I need to clean before the decorations go up then proper clean once they're down.

Like you, I only use about 3/4 cycles and I've purposely bought a basic condensor this time...heat pumps are rubbish 🗑 😑

Finished decorating DD’s bedroom last week. Need to refresh the hallway/stairs and kitchen by the end of November. Will need to start on the stairs tomorrow!

Loft being re-boarded this coming week, then the next 2 weeks are cleaning before the decorations go up.

02/11 Hallway, stairs and landing, incl airing cupboard: DH finishing prep and cleaning for the plasterer who should be here on Monday so had to swap things about a bit, but hooray!
Fingers crossed we still have time to decorate and order carpet before Christmas.
Whole house will need another quick going over once the plasterer has finished as dust does seem to get everywhere.

Not much else getting done...dds bf here and dh just back from a long haul work trip so a lazy day - other than the tonnes of washing 😫

...on the plus side, we've pulled the washer out and dusted/hoovered behind it was very grim and the wooden bench in the hall.
The next job is the fridge and freezers 😫

Oh yes the dust behind the WM/TD .

Ours is in a Utility (cannot call it a room , it's a pretentious cupboard ) , the TD is on a shelf put in when we had building work .

I managed to get some washing outside today , <bonus>

Ours is a stacked wm/td combo with the downstairs wc so its tiny
I've used the new td..its got that "new" smell 😊
No chance of outdoor drying today, the weather here has been awful
