Hi all. So for the first time ever I will be hosting Christmas Day dinner in my home.

And to that end, I've decided to give my house a massive clean, declutter & reorganisation (very badly needed!).

I've worked out there are 16 weekends to Christmas (well actually 17 but I want to use the last one for food prep) so I'm dividing my house into 16 sections & going to spend one day every weekend on a different section.

I'm starting this weekend. Would anyone like to join?

Cleared DD room for her new bookcase (yes she's an adult but she's injured her back so I did the main grunt work) got rid of a bag of rubbish, some recycling and a blanket .
I keep telling her I expect to find Lord Lucan & Shergar under the bed !

I cleaned out beside the washing machine/tumble drier stack in the utility cupboard yesterday. I had cleaned the shelves when I was home in August but didn’t get down to the floor level…managed to get rid of an old dog jacket and harness that are no longer needed and a mat we used to put under dripping wet suits for indoor drying in winter (we don’t need to do that anymore).

This week, I am busy but not so bonkers as recently at work so I plan to do a proper clean of the sitting/dining room and also dump a bag of bottles and of clothes for recycling.

The plan this weekend is to see the bottom of the wash basket. Sort out wardrobes, what were keeping, donating or recycling and get our summer/holiday clothes stored in those vacuum bags. Id also like to get at least one kitchen cupboard organised as I've started buying the odd food treat for Christmas so will be nice to have them in one place. I'm lucky I don't have to do any cooking over Christmas as we're always at different family member for the big meals so just snacks and treats to buy. I think Christmas starting to appear everywhere now has given me extra motivation to get a move on.
