This thread title made me think I should make up a 12 days of christmas song for all the main bargains we've got! Thanks@Yalz and @ApiratesaysYarrr for the inspo on the title.

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Has anyone had their order from Chuckling Cheese arrive? Mine was due to arrive today according to the confirmation, but I've heard nothing :( will contact them tomorrow.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 19/12/2023 21:12

No nothing from chuckling cheese yet since confirmation of order. On Twitter they have said that they are still guaranteeing all ordered from before midnight on 15th dec

Ladybaga · 19/12/2023 21:17

Thanks for the reply @NaturalBlondeYeahRight I'm not convinced but hopeful. Will see what they say tomorrow.

@BackToTheChaos I might be a bit late but 'the silver sword' is a lovely ww2 one by Ian Serraillier

Seconding this!

Have reread it a few times in adulthood and may have to get myself a copy.

I'm still looking for recommendations for nice aftershave/smellies for a 50 year old sporty man. Any suggestions, please?

Thanks

What’s your budget?

TheSoddingCat · 19/12/2023 21:33

So many times I saw lovely suitable things and asked my daughter if she'd like to get something for her classmates (specialist setting only 4 other children in the class) and she said no. Now of course with two days left of term she wants to get them something and I'm totally blank!! It's four boys and the age range is KS2 (years 3,4,5 and 6). Thank you so much if you can suggest anything. Bring back the days of trotting along to The Body Shop and getting a nice little basket of smellies for my pals!

Can confirm B&M are doing 3 toys for £20. Was in there this evening but had child with me so will be going back tomorrow to see if there's anything she'd like.

Oh no! My family have all opted out of secret santa this year, which I didn't realise means we need to buy everyone a present!

Three sets of couples to buy for, hadn't budgeted for them, but need to get them something. Does anyone have any bargainous ideas that could work please?

agree homemade hamper-
afternoon tea: packet of tea, packet of scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam, bottle of rose?
Or coffee hamper- you can get a stove top Italian coffee maker for £11.99 Amazon with a bag of ground coffee and two espresso cups? John Lewis barista espresso cups are £3 each or
There is also an article on bbc food on how to make 42 gifts for £30 in a day (if you have time:hot choc stirrers, chutney, biscuits, etc)

Same here. I ordered on Thursday 14th, and the delivery was expected to be today. But I’ve heard nothing more. Slightly nervous now 😕.

I’m exactly the same. I left them a message today on their chat function as there was nobody available to speak to me. They emailed back saying sorry for the delay and they’re processing my order. Will see!

I’m keeping everything crossed for us all 🙂

ArthurChristmas22 · 19/12/2023 22:52

@TheSoddingCat what is your price range? Ideas for boys in that age range would be Lego (Argos have 2 for fixed price sets), rubix cube (or variations thereof pyramids, snakes etc) are all the rage, Nerf guns, books, top.trump cards. Hope that helps!

Thank you for lock picking set. Having delivered my family presents at weekend, I reviewed my own kids piles today and now fear they really fall short. So, I am now twitching and wondering what I can pick up in RL between meetings tomorrow!

NotMeekNotObedient · 19/12/2023 23:19

The personalised Mitre football mentioned a few threads back went down very well with friend's 13 year old ds! (we did a mini Xmas at the weekend) I'd seen a pp said they were not impressed by the printing but ours looked great.

He is now asking for a stand to display it!

Just reassuring anyone else who may have purchased.

PlanBea · 19/12/2023 23:25

I posted the chuckling cheese deal and haven't had anything yet - I've emailed them tonight but at 5:30pm so not expecting a response till tomorrow. I hope they turn up for everyone! 🫣

In positive news, my Hotel Chocolat order arrived today, so I only have three things I'm waiting for in the post and all of them are twitches 😂

PeoniesAreMyFavouriteFlower · 20/12/2023 01:12

TK Maxx have Meri Meri crackers in store for somewhere between the £10-£15 mark for a 6 pack - I can’t remember exactly how much. They’re not in stock online.

Edited

The card factory have some Christmas spinner type items that light up from £1.50 to £2:50, similar to things you can get at pantomimes or home bargins has some lovely books.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 20/12/2023 08:01

@TheSoddingCat DS is ks2 and his stocking is mostly fidget toys. They might also like a bottle of prime and some sweets and some fluffy Christmas socks or if you’re near a range and wanted to spend a bit more there was lots of board times and Christmas crafts around the £5 mark I stocked up on.

OhRightyThen · 20/12/2023 08:02

Had anyone ordered from Hamleys in the past week or so? I ordered on Saturday which was well within their timeframe for Christmas delivery and have had radio silence 🤐 but worried tbh!

WombatBombat · 20/12/2023 09:05

Extra 25% off sale at ASOS and still guaranteeing pre- Christmas delivery.

The discount % is dropping every hour though. Lots of Nike, North Face etc in the sale. I’ve just picked up a North Face down jacket for less than half price.

Hipponimous · 20/12/2023 09:53

Last minute any ideas for a tiny £5 gift for an 11 year old; quite science-y, like animals, reads a lot (but has loads of books so I wouldn't be able to buy one without risking a duplicate). Happy to shop online or in RL...

Realfastfoodie · 20/12/2023 10:17

Please can anyone help me with a look fantastic code? Referral code or generic discount as I’ve not ordered from there before. Thank you!

Not sure if it's been posted but Jojo Maman have started their sale, some Christmas Jellycats in it too (just got 2 elves for my boys for next year!)
