This thread title made me think I should make up a 12 days of christmas song for all the main bargains we've got! Thanks@Yalz and @ApiratesaysYarrr for the inspo on the title.

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

@Beckafett thanks if you used my code! I’m super impressed they arrived so quickly and through the letterbox!

Pinkkisugarmouse · 18/12/2023 20:50

In case anyone is looking for some inexpensive pyjamas, Asda is having a pretty good sale on all the Christmas related ones and a fair few others too. Men’s, Women’s and children.
A lot of them are half price but stock will vary in different stores.

@BackToTheChaos I might be a bit late but 'the silver sword' is a lovely ww2 one by Ian Serraillier

Yeknom · 18/12/2023 20:55

@BackToTheChaos The Lion and the Unicorn by Shirley Hughes is great too!!

Used the one from the referral thread so hope so! Really pleased with them- I am soooo nearly done!

@captainflash I love those Little people , big dreams books, bought for my great nephew. I'd like some for me , just lovely!

Nestnearlyempty · 18/12/2023 21:10

I’d just add War Horse by Michael Morpurgo as I can’t believe it’s not been on already

hiredandsqueak · 18/12/2023 21:28

@BackToTheChaos The Machine Gunners by Robert Westall, I read it as a child when it was first published and have read it again as an adult and it really is very good.

That’s World War 1 not WW2 though.

I popped into my local B&M today (Gloucester) the lady behind the till said that they will be doing 3 toys for £20 tomorrow on their 2 for £25 range.
I presume this will be the same for all stores so might be useful for any last minute toys!

My HC order has been dispatched too.

Has anyone found any nice gift boxes or bags for the Fahlo bracelets yet?

I wrapped mine in tissue paper and put them in a small gift bag (69p home bargains) with a couple of lindor chocolates and sealed the bag

evtheria · 18/12/2023 22:17

Another great find in Poundland, I think I paid £2-3 for this! It's for myself as a Boxing Day activity, but is def gift-worthy if recipient is into jigsaws or London. In my local Poundland it was on the bottom shelf where they've put Christmas stocking stuffers etc. Size 3-4 slipper for comparison Grin

@BackToTheChaos
my 9 year old is currently enjoying my friend the enemy, I’m enjoying reading it with her tbh

Yalz · 19/12/2023 00:56

Goodnight Mr Tom still haunts me. There’s a really dark bit in it. I’ve read the book, seen the film and been involved in a production of the play, and I wouldn’t choose it for a primary-school-aged child.

Your DN might not be affected in the same way, but since you’ve had other good suggestions I’d go with one of those.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 19/12/2023 02:19

If you don't mind using Amazon, the Stranger Things sock crackers I posted a few threads ago have the 40% discount voucher available on them again. They're a UK size 3-7 so should work for teens/tween fans and with six in a pack you could divvy the box up between stockings or use them as DD/DS friend gifts.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 19/12/2023 07:04

This thread is one of my favourite Christmas traditions and this year has just been so crazy I’ve barely been on here. I was wondering if I’d missed any dunelm codes? It’s for kitchen chairs so not even Christmassy!

dwho4 · 19/12/2023 07:47

I just want to ask if anyone has the link to the lock picking kit that was mentioned a few threads ago.
It’s for a January birthday.
Thanks.

I suppose this might be more of a post-Christmas bargain request, but our tree lights are quickly failing, so will need new ones next year. Are there any places in particular to keep an eye out for good bargains on lights post-Christmas?

I always get mine in the sale from lights4fun.co.U.K.

not cheap, but lovely.

I saw some on homebase half price yesterday. You can normally get a decent deal if you go somewhere like b&q, or chain garden centre etc around this time. I’ve got a loft full of wilko bargain lights

LemonFrosting · 19/12/2023 07:58

I've had bargain lights from whsmith in the past after Xmas. I've had four packs and all have lasted well, good quality plugs too. If I remember correctly a couple of packs were reduced then there was a code flying round too so got them even cheaper.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/12/2023 08:10

Anne franks diary has 2 versions. Abridged for younger readers and the full diary. Do you could order which one might be more suitable

Helluvawomen · 19/12/2023 08:22

Not on the high street 15%off with code SORTED15

My NIO cocktails arrived at lunchtime today - only 24 hours after a Sunday order, which seems pretty impressive. Just sharing here so people can see the packaging - easy to split up into separate gifts / stocking fillers.

You’ll find a referral code over on the referrals board to get £10 off, but bear in mind that tomorrow night is the cut off for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

i also saw a recommendation above for Boxtails. I haven’t tried them but this is whetting my appetite for cocktail gifts - wish someone would buy me some 😬

How much were they?

MamaClausToTheRescue · 19/12/2023 09:07

@wite you get a box of six cocktails delivered for £29 using the referral code - £39 is the minimum order for getting the £10 off.

I plan to split the six into two packs of three with a nice tumbler each so not a bad gift each for about £20.

you can buy a pack of three cocktails for £19 but that doesn’t meet the minimum threshold for the referral discount unless you buy two I guess!
