Starting this in Reastie’s absence. Hope that’s ok.

Does anybody have any tips on the cheapest way to buy, or where to look out for offers on books for a 3yr old... I'm thinking classics like..

Gruffalo, Room on Broom, Stick Man, Tiger who came to tea, etc....

They're all about £4 on Amazon but not sure if there's a deal to be had if I'm buying quite a few

Thank you to anyone who answers x 🎅

If you can get to Costco they usually have these books in a bundle, maybe 8 books for £10

Robotik · 29/10/2023 00:38

If anyone has an argos code they aren’t going to use I’d really appreciate it please! Buying a Nintendo switch and games and they’re pricey 😮

I’ve just returned from holiday and, having had barely had any Wi-Fi signal whilst away, see I’ve missed an entire thread!!

Gutted to see I missed the White Fox discount as a hoodie is on DD’s Xmas list so keeping fingers crossed for a good Black Friday discount.

Off to read the rest of the last thread…

I think I have a 15% you can try?

Any suggestions for nice whisky miniatures? My DH loves a tipple and has tried all of the "normal" ones (Glenfiddich, etc ) I'd like to get some miniatures for him of more fancy ones which he could try without forking out for the big bottles to find out he hates it! He really doesn't like peaty, smokey whiskey, prefers Scottish, rum, cherry casks.

Any pointers would be great (and bargains obviously 😄)

Thanks 🙏

My husband is a whisky expert I will ask tomorrow!

thaegumathteth · 29/10/2023 00:59

Sorry @whoknows1230 see you've had much better advice when I've read the whole thread!!

Got some super bargains at The Entertainer online! I took advantage of the Squishmallows offer and got 1 at £13, which halved the price of the £50 one. I then got a few items from the sale, plus the extra 10% off, went through TopCashback and then found a hidden £53 in my Quidco account so withdrew that too. All in, instead of £120, I paid just under £20! Worth staying up until this hour for.

DeathStarCanteenGal · 28/10/2023 23:40

@fishfingersandchipsagain I had an email from Redbubble yesterday (Friday) saying 30% off site wide but saying it 'ends soon' - although I couldn't see when that was

Ah! That was it.

I must have missed out. By soon I assumed they meant “in a couple of days” not “in a couple of hours.

AliasGraceful · 29/10/2023 01:40

A pp mentioned the 'just pay postage' offer on Christmas cards at Photobox. It's applying the discount against one pack of each of the card options (portrait, square, panorama etc), not just a against a single style. I paid £3.49 (postage cost) for 5 packs of cards in a single order, though of course they may not honour that if it's a glitch.

Sorry if my Asda suggestion didn’t work for everyone. I didn’t realise the missions were different for each user.

However, the star products should work for all shoppers. Worth trying with one single Terry’s CO and then buying more if it tracks!

My star product is the popping candy one.

Can anyone recommend anywhere to get personalised boot bags from?

Some football boot bags from Studio were shared on the last thread.
Studio Boot Bag £8 red or blue
Free personalisation. Not sure on quality or postage costs though

Can anyone recommend the best place to get Orchard Toys games? I know Argos does 2 for £20 and apparently you can get some from Hobbycraft (already used my Craftober and Birthday £5 vouchers thanks to these threads!) but my local Hobbycraft doesn't stock them and I don't want to pay delivery. I have seen them in Aldi quite cheap before but I guess that's just luck of whether they are currently stocking them? I would be 100% happy getting second hand for my child but I'd prefer new for gifting. I have a Toy Town and Smyth's in my area but would need to pay to park for both of them. Trying to really pinch the pennies this year! Any tips on where else I could check gratefully received! Or other suggestions? I'm looking for games good quality, lightweight (for international postage), and suitable for age 2.

I've had loads from Amazon

I’m looking for some of the bargain thread Christmas magic. DS has a red combine harvester top of his list this year. The playmobil one looks absolutely perfect because it actually produces bales but it’s the old model. I’ve tried multiple times to buy from the playmobil reduced section but it won’t allow me to check out. I’ve found a seller on eBay but they aren’t boxed and I’m nervous they will be missing parts. Had no luck on marketplace. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks I’m advance

Just checked Vinted but nothing. Have you messaged people on marketplace asking if they’re happy to post if you pay postage and PayPal fees? It also looks like duplo did a red combine if that’s any good, not sure how old your son is.

sorryiasked · 29/10/2023 06:40

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin there's a technical problem with the website - message at top of page.

Thanks @AliasGraceful that worked for me too- one pack of square and one pack of rectangle cards for £3.49 delivery is amazing. For anyone looking back- it’s on photobox- code is FREECARDS and it worked for me on the app just now.

Hi any recommendations on kids hot water bottles ideally something Christmas and not crazy expensive.

We have Father Christmas come to visit but I have to buy the gifts. If anyone hasn't done it before it's really good for £60 we get half an hour with Father Christmas in our house, he has a personalised letter all about the kids tells a story and plays a game. It's bloomin brilliant and such good value worth looking into! We have my 2 dc plus my 2 dn.

Try Primark for hot water bottles.

I've managed to get on to birchbox this morning to cancel my renewal if anyone still needs to. Don't know if box will arrive but didn't want to risk leaving it to late since its been difficult

Honeyandwine · 29/10/2023 07:20

@Elpheba thank you! I ordered one pack of 10 for free- just had to pay delivery.
