Hi,

Not sure what's going on this year, but I got into the festive spirit super early!

And... thinking about what I want for Christmas this year, thought I'd ask you too! What do you hope you'll get?

I'm hoping for:
A polene bag
A gold pendant
Some oils for my neom diffuser
A gold pendant for my necklace
Anddddd of course... chocolate!

Oh my god I've been eyeing these up recently. Annoyingly I'm struggling to find anything I like in a super king! That aside, I'm guessing your rate them?

Sorry for the late reply but yes! All of our duvets in the house are now coverless.

The current one on our bed is a 4 tog Night Lark one. It goes in our washing machine easily and is quick to tumble dry. Only a king size though, if you want a super king I'd just make sure it'll fit in your washing machine.

I really just want some practical things that I cannot be bothered to buy myself. New mugs, new towels, a new doormat.

Other than that, any kinds of experiences, theatre, trips, meals out etc. I’ve asked DH to get me nothing though as we are saving up for something and also want to focus on DD this year.

So many lovely ideas on here!

I would love:
The new Kate Atkinson book of short stories

Burberry Goddess perfume

My engagement, wedding and eternity rings repaired as my Lab bolted on the lead, taking my fingers with him and I had to have the rings cut off....

A box of fruity chocs from Hotel Chocolat

BaconAndAvocado · 20/10/2023 09:18

Re the Velvetiser.

I love mine but I think that's more about the look of it, (we have the copper coloured one) the ritual of using it....I can't honestly say the hot chocolate is any better than eg Cadbury's or Green and Blacks.

DS is on his year abroad this year at university in Berlin. We used to live in Berlin when the kids were tiny and I loved the run-up to Christmas there. So as mine and DH's present this year we've just booked a trip to see him at the start of December. Planning to go to some Christmas markets where we'll no doubt pick up a few Christmassy souvenirs, drink mulled wine and eat sausages with DS and generally indulge in a total nostalgia-fest. We won't have much to unwrap under the tree, but I honestly don't care. I literally can't wait. His uni doesn't break up until December 22 and can't fly home until the following day so in actual fact our best Christmas present will be when we pick him up at the airport and have all the family together (including my mum).

BaconAndAvocado · 22/10/2023 09:36

LillianGish
That sounds very very lovely!
Hope you have a wonderful time.

My brother and his family live in Berlin but he isn't a carrier of the COD (Christmas Obsessive Disorder) gene like me, so December is a bit wasted on him!

I have had ill health, broken bones and chronic pain this year. I just want it all to go away and to get my life back. That is my only wish.

NotLoud1 · 23/10/2023 14:01

A home Beer tap machine.
Combination of 2 loves, technology and beer.

DeathStarCanteenGal · 23/10/2023 14:14

A fancy new sleeping bag that has no zip. We go camping quite a lot and while my sleeping bag is fine I struggle to zip it up (I often find zips tricky tbh 🙄)
and a sparkly earrring from Laura Bond for my new helix piercing

BaconAndAvocado · 23/10/2023 18:22

garlictwist
I hope you get your wish.

We spent a lot this year - special holiday, new boiler, plus we just had all our windows painted, and have an expensive holiday bill again next year (one a family wedding, and both sons are going abroad with their schools) so I've suggested to my husband that this year we buy each other something that the house needs rather than what we would like, eg the towel radiator in the downstairs bathroom isn't working very well so maybe a new one of those, and we need to replace our kitchen floor.

DiscoBeat · 23/10/2023 18:48

My engagement, wedding and eternity rings repaired

That sounded so painful!!
I had my engagement ring repaired this year as an anniversary present too! It was so lovely to have it back (it slipped in the setting)

Whiskeyinthejaroh · 24/10/2023 09:35

There's a few things I'd like, but don't want to spend the money on myself:

A certain type of film for my camera
Birkenstock clogs
Blue and black Nike trainers
A couple of specific art prints for the house
A ridge wallet
A Eurostar city break somewhere

BaconAndAvocado · 24/10/2023 09:39

DiscoBeat
It was extremely painful and I thought my fingers had been broken!

Severely sprained/bruised and a month later still not right...

elizabethdraper · 24/10/2023 09:46

Nuxe super serum
warm fluffy socks

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 24/10/2023 16:29

My children are all adults. I've told them that I've got enough 'stuff' for now, and would like homemade gifts, which threw them all into a complete tizzy, until I pointed out that this could include:
Photos printed out and framed
Home baking
Meals for one home made and frozen
Embroidery or stitched cushion covers etc
They feel a bit better about it now and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with!

londonmummy1966 · 24/10/2023 16:57

My birthday is shortly before Christmas so I'm allowed an extra long list!!!

Large navy Pliage green as I have a black one I use all the time but sometimes wear navy instead.I have an insert so can just swap between bags.
Sweaty Betty running jacket
Good quality silver disc bracelet engraved with London 26.2 to celebrate finally getting to run the marathon this year
Ren rose oil
Diptyque Baies candle
A week at Northern Bootcamp to try and rectify the damage from Christmas indulgence!

I'm pretty sure I'll get the bag and candle as DD is on it and is good at bullying her father into getting me what I want.

I usually ask DC to buy me something inexpensive that I'll use like Palmers body scrub

Pinkkisugarmouse · 24/10/2023 19:36

I will probably request a mix of
books
pyjamas
a hoodie from a charity (not sure which yet)

Every Christmas and Easter DH & I have a sleekster box each from hotel chocolat so I will have my yummy vegan chocolates.

My DD (20) has said she would like to pay for me to have a tattoo to symbolise our belated 20yr old cat who died last year.

fukkingthreadworms · 24/10/2023 19:40

A lottery win

DarlingCoffee · 25/10/2023 08:51

On my wish list:

Nespresso coffee machine
Bordallo pinheiro cabbage plates
Outdoor solar lights for the garden
YSL hand bag

can anyone recommend me the best place for decent chocolate?

hattie43 · 25/10/2023 18:39

Jo Malone candle - pomegranate noir
Lego - sonic the hedgehog and the Vespa
Celtic and Co jumper
Must have a toblerone ( the only time of the year I have one and it's all mine lol )
New Equafleece jumpers for my 2 dogs
Apple Air Tags
Oliver Bonas vouchers
Christmas Puzzle
Pom Pom London bag

cakepip · 27/10/2023 23:42

I've been a bugger for just buying what I want this year so my list isn't very long, would love some Ugg Tasman slippers. Would also love the Lego Assembly Square set but that won't happen 😂 oh and a more reasonable Bagpuss Warmie.

TheSpikySpinosaurus · 28/10/2023 00:17

Books
Candles
A big fuck-off diamond ring
Peace

TheHappiestChristmasTree · 28/10/2023 00:19

Books, fluffy socks, Haribo strawbs, a nice candle, comfy pjs, and this Jumanji game, but it's £130 so I won't be getting that!

What do YOU want for Christmas this year?
