Hi,

Not sure what's going on this year, but I got into the festive spirit super early!

And... thinking about what I want for Christmas this year, thought I'd ask you too! What do you hope you'll get?

I'm hoping for:
A polene bag
A gold pendant
Some oils for my neom diffuser
A gold pendant for my necklace
Anddddd of course... chocolate!

Possibly, a new bottle of perfume.
Oh, and Crystal Maze tickets.

@readingismycardio @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal Highly recommend the Velvetiser! I got one for DS two years ago, and it's very well used. Not in the summer so much (though you can make iced drinks with it) but very often through the rest of the year. We sometimes get the Hotel Chocolat sachets, but you can put other drinks in (or grate your own chocolate if you can be bothered). DS was 12 when he got his, and it meant he could easily make a really nice hot chocolate after school (and clear up afterwards) without boiling milk in a pan etc. It's rare that we buy hot chocolate when we are out now, as it's always nicer to make one at home. CostCo often have deals if you have one near you.

Ohhh, thanks so much for this! So tempting! I like the white and the copper one!

My due date is around Christmas so I imagine presents I’ll get will be for the baby. It would be nice to get something just for me even something small like food and drink. Even my husband is getting me a nursing chair which is generous as they’re expensive but it’s for more comfort with baby rather than something just for me.

CesareBorgia · 12/10/2023 21:11

We don't do 'large' presents in my family, so I'll have to buy it for myself, but a nice piece of jewellery - a good quality white gold ring.

EtiennePalmiere · 12/10/2023 21:22

Dry champagne, a perfume but I can't decide, maybe soleil blanc, carnel flower or Chanel allure eau sensuelle. I've also been thinking about getting a quilt rather than a duvet 🤔

Sounds perfect - you have things like chocolates to unwrap without wasting money on something you don't completely love

OhDoSitDownAndShutUp · 12/10/2023 21:24

My husband and I always tell our AC to just get us "a nice card" for Christmas, Mother's/Father's day, and birthdays. We don't need presents (we've got stuff and can buy things when we need them). They always buy us something, though. Smile.

caringcarer · 12/10/2023 21:27

All I really want is to see all my DC and DGC over Xmas. I've got everything I want and if I want something I just buy it myself. I tell my DC just a bunch of flowers would be lovely. DH will get upset if I can't think of anything he can get me so I'll let him buy me a new gold chain for my favourite sapphire necklace because I broke the one I had.

80sMum · 12/10/2023 21:27

I sincerely hope that I receive absolutely nothing for Christmas! I'm trying to declutter my house and absolutely do not want any more stuff!

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal please keep me posted re your debate on the velvetiser haha! Not sure what to do. And it's so pretty, too, isn't it?

We have the bonsai lego, so, so beautiful!

My son bought me the Lego bunch of flowers when he moved out into his own house.

Absolutely - no one knows my tastes better than I do!

A cross trainer

Lovemusic82 · 13/10/2023 08:46

I love this thread, every year I look for it and add what I want for Christmas. I’m a single parent and I don’t really get many gifts, I make myself a stocking and buy myself a present (from the dc).
There’s not much I want this year so I will read through and see what others are wanting. I guess I would like a bubble tea set and maybe a book.

PurpleMonkeys · 13/10/2023 08:48

This is not a placemark, it just looks like one, but it identifies as a thoroughly interesting and worthwhile post that every must say thanks too because of its usefulness...

I haven't wanted anything for Christmas for 30 years so I'll be reading all your ideas. 😁

PumpkinSpicedTea · 13/10/2023 09:57

For the first time I've actually made a list of things throughout the year that could be used as ideas as hubby says I'm hard to buy for but I don't think I am so must be something about communication as I am happy with a box of chocolates for myself, to me that is a luxury!

Some of my ideas (only one gift will do if any!)

Slipper boots
PJs
Seamstress of Bloomsbury vest slipover
Bullet journal with dots
White or black plain trainers
Guliyan seashells or Aldi version
Classic Lilly handbag
Massage voucher

Books
Preloved by Lauren Bravo
Calm the journal Fearne Cotton
My Hygge Home
Wabi Sabi by Beth Kempton

VeridicalVagabond · 13/10/2023 10:02

I want the blanket my daughter has been crocheting for me all year. It's a surprise in the sense I don't know what it looks like but I'm so excited to see what she's done, she's so crafty and clever.

CurlewKate · 13/10/2023 10:09

I want a little Pyrex jug. I've already told ds! 🤣

KitchenSinkLlama · 13/10/2023 10:10

Peace and love

Whilst I'm not sure how likely that is, I rather like the Marc Jacobs orange leather tote bag.

CurlewKate · 13/10/2023 10:12

@Sleeplessinseattle234 Have you seen Scribd? A more limited selection than Audible, but sooooo much cheaper. Check though, some books are abridged.
