Crochet for Christmas

Does anyone want to join me in a thread for Christmas crochet chat/ideas?
I realise it's a bit niche but Crochet and Christmas are my two favourite things!
I'm fairly new to Crochet but planning on making Christmas pudding tree decorations for everyone, stockings for the DC as well as toys to go in the stockings. My DC love to watch me crochet so I think they'll like them!
So, would anyone care to join me?

@coodawoodashooda i did a day course in how to make a granny square .. after 4 hours I had a half made square , then I discovered Bellacoco she does a really good tutorial on YouTube

I haven't picked up a crotchet hook for more years than I care to remember but have just bought a kit from Amazon to make flowers in pots. But I am seriously tempted by the Christmas blanket.

So glad I've found this thread. You've inspired me to have a look at some Christmas blanket patterns and get on it so I can have something done in time.

Has anyone got any recommendations for brands of nice soft yarn for blankets. I've used marriner from a local shop which is ok but would prefer something softer. I also use wool Warehouse but find it a bit overwhelming sometimes!

My friend made me this pig in blanket tree decoration last year and I'd love to try and make some of my own 🐷

I’ve just started crocheting and cannot get anything to look right so probably won’t be making anything for Christmas but will still be trying to make a sunflower blanket square for the blanket I’d hoped to make for my friends’ baby 🤣. Loving all the pictures that have been uploaded. Those pigs in blankets are fab!

I love crocheting. I work for a yarn company and I've been commissioned to crochet a big blanket. I thought I had lost my crojo but it's back! I'm more than up to this!

Love Christmas crochet! Start early, you will run out of steam when other festive things take over!
My favourite festive make - kitten in a wreath, which I think was in Simply Crochet magazine a few years back. DD loves this one.

And this was my attempt at a pig in a blanket, ds requested a proper one like you eat. I of course obliged. Dh came home from work and fell about laughing, wanting to know why a turd in a scarf was on the tree. I think I will try the choc orange version next time 🤣🤣🤣

So far I’ve made a little Santa hat to hang on my tree and a tiny mouse (not really Christmassy).

@SunnieShine ahh thank you! I’ve kept a few for stocking fillers and may sell a few on Etsy. They are super cute to make 😊

I like the little Ferrero Rocher covers done to look like tiny christmas puddings. I think they'd make a nice alternative to the cadbury's chocolate decorations in foil this year.
