Hi
I ordered the taster pack before Christmas and was one of the people who had the order cancelled.
They sent a £30 e gift voucher but that has been disabled.
I have emailed them and had no reply. I have asked if they are not going to honour the gift voucher just to have my postage refunded and still not a word. I know they are probably closed for Christmas now so just wondering if anyone else has been able to use the gift voucher? Had it cancelled? Heard back from them or has just given up trying?
Thanks

The email they sent we t pre Xmas was that the voucher would be valid from NY. Some pister managed to order when they first came through (but it doesn't look like those orders were sent)

Flubadubba · 29/12/2022 11:06

The message at the top of their site also suggest that nothing will be shipping until 11th Jan. It's a small family business, so they are probably taking a break after a torrid fee months.

HiccupHorrendousHaddock · 29/12/2022 11:07

OP, read the email, they are very upfront that it's valid from January.

Barbequebeans64 · 29/12/2022 12:14

I asked for a postage refund after the voucher came through and never heard back. I get that they're a small family run business but they should have cancelled the offers much earlier than they did when it was obvious they couldn't keep up with demand as now I'm unlikely to use them again due to lack of communication.

Freeekedout · 29/12/2022 12:17

They put an update on their Facebook page this week. I think they’re a small company that got overwhelmed.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 29/12/2022 14:28

Happy to save my voucher for the new year, planning to order a case of wine for Easter 😂

fancyacuppatea · 29/12/2022 16:35

Chargeback on your card if you don't get anywhere.

Sisisimone · 29/12/2022 16:39

They said the voucher was from January so I plan to use it then. I ordered a box of Malbec from them in their BF sale and it was lovely

Adelais · 29/12/2022 17:29

I requested a refund for the £3.99 postage paid but never got a reply after sending 2 emails. I paid debit card so don’t think there’s anything I can do.

CarrieMoonbeams · 29/12/2022 17:49

I requested a refund for the postage too, and got it - along with an apologetic email - the next day.

anyolddinosaur · 29/12/2022 20:17

You still have rights with a debit card, just not as many. Banks dont like chargebacks but you can ask.

LemonAndLimeTree · 29/12/2022 20:41

I’m still waiting for 12 bottles of wine I ordered in November. I am trying to reclaim my money through PayPal.

Their latest FB post is bizarre. They are complaining that refunding people will wipe out their profits. Well, yes, if you take money from people but don’t provide what they’ve paid for, you don’t get to make a profit. I’m really angry with them. They have still been letting people place orders when they haven’t fulfilled orders from November. And selling gift cards. Also blaming Royal Mail is pathetic, I have received every other online order I’ve made in November and December.

Sisisimone · 29/12/2022 20:47

I'm sure they will refund after the Xmas break as they have refunded others. I wouldn't raise a chargeback for 3.99. SG would have to pay CB fees on top of the transaction refund and I think that's a bit shit when it's a small family run business and we were all sharing codes for free goods when we shouldn't have been. I really felt for them reading the Facebook updates

LemonAndLimeTree · 29/12/2022 20:57

Luckily I had enough spare money to buy another case of wine. Otherwise that was our Christmas booze gone. I have had no reasonable explanation of why my wine hasn’t been delivered. As I say, I’m not buying the delivery problems excuse.

People wouldn’t be having to do chargebacks if they had refunded when they knew they couldn’t deliver.

Why shouldn’t we have been sharing the codes? I thought that’s what they were for?

Sisisimone · 29/12/2022 21:25

Why shouldn’t we have been sharing the codes? I thought that’s what they were for?

The website offered a spin of the wheel that gave most people 10% off an order or 20% off an advent calendar but then someone shared a code for free taster boxes on the bargain threads and suddenly people were ordering multiple free boxes for just p&p from different emails. I'm sure they didn't expect to be inundated with orders for free boxes.

snowmanshoes · 29/12/2022 21:34

I emailed waiting for my refund - no reply. I’m giving them time though because I think they’ve been overwhelmed. If I’ve heard nothing by end of Jan I’ll have to do a charge back which I think is fair enough. I’ve emailed with no reply - an answer would Atleast tell me they’ve acknowledged my refund

AxolotlEars · 29/12/2022 21:35

I am in the same situation...no news

LemonAndLimeTree · 29/12/2022 21:37

I think the codes were from their refer a friend offer (you got a £20 voucher if someone used your code) so they were encouraging people to pass on the codes. If people were using multiple email addresses to get the introductory offer, that is not on, I agree.

Sisisimone · 29/12/2022 21:53

No the codes were for free cheese and wine boxes and free malbec tasting boxes and everyone was just paying 3.99 postage then letting all their friends know the free codes and also then getting the £20 refer a friend codes. So there was a lot of free stock going out for just p&p

LemonAndLimeTree · 29/12/2022 22:02

Yes, there were a lot of tasting boxes being ordered for p&p only, because that was the deal they offered. Just like the Gousto free boxes a while back. You can’t offer a great (almost) free offer and then complain if people take it up. People sharing referrals codes did nothing wrong. I shared codes and every time someone used one I got an email thanking me (with a money off voucher). It’s not customers fault if they have set up an offer which they can’t fulfil. Also, once they realised they were overstretched, they could have just refunded everyone straight away.

And tbh I would be less sceptical that their problems are just the tasting box offer being “too successful” if they hadn’t failed to send my case of wine which I paid £80 or so for too.

OneHundredOtters · 30/12/2022 00:16

Seems a bit harsh if people were sharing a code that was supposed to be for the winning customer only. Clearly they should have been issuing one use only codes so a big mistake on their part but it's an easy mistake for a small company to make.

TheCrow · 30/12/2022 20:30

I was more annoyed that they didn't refund the postage fee when they cancelled the orders and sent the voucher, so if we did reorder in January we'd have to pay postage again. How many unused £3.99 postage fees were they sitting on?

snowmanshoes · 30/12/2022 23:33

They just haven’t replied to me at all. Not great tbh.

Filterphobia · 01/01/2023 11:10

Anyone got any updates? I used ordered one box which was cancelled and I was issued the £30 which then got disabled. I assumed like other it would be available to use from Jan. I’ve checked just now and mine is still disabled.

MoiraDavidAlexisJohnny · 01/01/2023 17:32

I got physical vouchers for cheese and wine tasting boxes that I gave out as gifts for Christmas and the recipients can't use them. Nothing explaining that they'll be able to use it after a certain date or anything. No ability to pre order, just a broken QR code.

It's pretty unprofessional and is going to harm their business going forward as I'm sure my recipients won't bother using them.
