What a shit thing to say. Maybe the person died at Christmas time, maybe they loved Christmas, maybe they are missed more at this time of year because family get together.

Nobody should be berated for talking about missing a loved one at Christmas.

Agree with so many of these, and I’m generally a positive Christmas-loving person.

The absolute worst: the boy/this one, my world/my little family, crimbo, spuds, lucky boy/girly (about their own children).

I am serious- I have a six year old child and lots of contemporaries with similar-aged children. I have not seen one single "Elf on the Shelf" social media post.

It's all snowy walks in all-weather clothing and chat about food banks.

Children do not need an extra bit of chocolate a day (substitute all the other expensive shite that modern calendars can contain).

But can I make a pitch for the ultimate one? "The Big Day". It's ONE fucking DAY. I once saw a Good Housekeeping 'countdown to "The Big Day" that started in early November.
