I know every year it gets slated by the ones who click on It to say how awful it is. But don't know if it would be genuinely insensitive?
I'm only asking because I finally have a proper huge fridge for the first time in years 😀

Can’t believe I’ve never seen the fridge thread, came looking for an M&S Christmas food thread but this one will do 🤌🏼

TheGirlWhoLived · 19/12/2022 22:37

Will definitely take a before shot tomorrow. Click and collect thursday for the afterparty

Logicalreasoning · 19/12/2022 22:43

I would, but one of my fridge freezers is broken and we are awaiting an engineer that is due tomorrow and secondly we haven’t done the fresh shop yet, only frozen and dry goods so far 😊

TwoRockSalmonAndAHaporthOfChips · 19/12/2022 22:52

I’ve done my sort and clean of the fridges today, but I’ve still got stuff in there we are using up before the big delivery on Thursday, so I’ll post a very empty ‘before’ on Wednesday! The pantry and my special Christmas shelf in the big cupboard upstairs are groaning. I’m feeding 6 on Christmas Day and 4 on Boxing Day (different guests each time) so although we are only two, I’m stocking up. Plus I don’t want to cook again for a week after the big day!

My favourite thread of the year 🫣🫣

kateandme · 20/12/2022 01:36

Mum getting a fridge full for her family is her love language.first thing the siblings do in entering is to look in the fridge for what's she got them in.we love it. My brother then proceeds to check every other cupboard for food, mapping out his consuming itinary for being home is a serious job😁

Harperweek · 20/12/2022 06:48

I love Christmas fridge. The poor poster who started the thread last year got such a hammering. It all worked out good in the end. I must clean my fridge tomorrow.

Not done the big shop but have started on the cheese selection.
Have had to put up a sign to ward off dh.

I need this sign. Dd has opened two Christmas cheeses so far 😡

ChristmasFreezer · 20/12/2022 08:11

My fridge isn’t Christmassy yet (although worryingly is pretty full of normal food). I can offer you my Christmas freezer though. Usually so well organised. It’s going to be almost completely empty after Boxing Day! Cooking for 8, 12, 17, 17, 8, 8 people from 23rd-28th 😀

Ready for some festive stuffing! This is pretty normal when the kids are off school, they eat me through house and home

@ChristmasFreezer that's impressive!

I've got a few bits in but am going to M&S and Waitroise on Thursday I think.
We are eating through sime of the current freezer contents in readiness!
Think we have approx 13 for Christmas. Unsure on Boxing Day yet.

I've got friends over this evening for our annual Christmas get together which we'd usually have at a restaurant.

Shit that impressive

There's some good fridges on here already. We should be shopping tomorrow to fill up ours. I'll then have a window of about an hour to take a photo before everyone eats most of it. Tupperware should do locked safes 😁.

Impressive fridge loading there 😃

Oblomov22 · 21/12/2022 10:26

Haven't started our shopping yet. But Dh has picked up a couple of bits. And as I forgot to take a photo last year, I thought I'd get an early one in.

@kateandme I love your use of ‘love language’ it’s perfect! I understand and am the same with food for my family.

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 21/12/2022 12:10

@kateandme @ChristmasFreezer Thank you. Still more to go in!

lightand · 21/12/2022 16:13

I wont be posting a picture. Partly because it will be filled with a big fresh turkey from tomorrow, that DH insists we have every year. Which means there is much less room for other things until the turkey is in the oven.

What I am noticing however is how much more people manage to put in the fridge doors than I usually do.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 21/12/2022 18:39

Got our click and collect today, closest date it could get and no way I'm dragging 4 dc around Xmas Tesco.

I deep cleaned the fridge and now feeling v satisfied.

We are going elsewhere for Xmas day so its periphery food for the week here.

enjoy everyone!

@TheRealKatnissEverdeen OMG I have total fridge envy!!!!

pompei8309 · 21/12/2022 20:56

Genuine question: why do people buy 3-4 bottles of milk? BewareTheBeardedDragon has 6 , are you all milk lovers ?? the shops are only closed for two days
I see a lot of waste here , unfortunately

SingaporeSlinky · 21/12/2022 21:05

We got loads of milk because of the extras teas and coffees for guests, and I have no intention of going back to the supermarket for about 5 days if I can help it. So it’s not just the 2 days the shops are closed.

Most adults know how much milk they will use before they shop next, and buy accordingly. You get the hang of it after a couple of shops, to be honest.

Have you considered the possibility that some families might use more milk than yours?

RJnomore1 · 21/12/2022 21:11

For me, I get milk delivered twice a week and it’s double deliveries this week with none on Monday.
