I know every year it gets slated by the ones who click on It to say how awful it is. But don't know if it would be genuinely insensitive?
I'm only asking because I finally have a proper huge fridge for the first time in years 😀

One of the Christmas cupboard for good measure.
I haven't bought the booze yet.

Ahem

I see you have Villa Maria, enjoying a glass of that at the moment. We bought a bottle of Cloudy Bay as a treat to have Christmas Day before everyone arrives 😂

Aw bless you kate.
I wandered, blissfully unaware, into my milk shaming 😂
Two years ago ds1, who is a big teenage boy, would only drink milk, and we used to have 5 6pinters in the fridge. Can only imagine the minds blown if I'd showed that.
I also never run out of milk, except when we've been isolating during covid. As ds1 has ASD, milk supply was always a top priority (he literally wouldn't drink if there wasn't milk), and even though he's moved on from his milk fixation the need to have milk in at all times has stuck with me.

Ha yes.my brother still has milk as a drink 😄

Maya678 · 23/12/2022 02:18

@mum2jakie absolutely, the squirty cream is there specifically for my children, especially for hot chocolate!

Oh, everyone's fridge looks amazing. So neat and organised.
Here's mine. I tried to keep it neat but ran out of patience, plus I had to stuff things in at the back!
Drinks are keeping cold in the garage. The turkey and gammon for Christmas day are in a separate fridge drawer, along with ready made pigs in blankets. 😊

why are potatoes and oranges in the fridge?

Genuine question: why do people buy 3-4 bottles of milk? BewareTheBeardedDragon has 6 , are you all milk lovers ?? the shops are only closed for two days
I see a lot of waste here , unfortunately

We get 10 pints delivered 3 times a week and there’s never any waste. Just because you wouldn’t use as much as some of these photos, doesn’t mean others will waste it.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 23/12/2022 08:01

I keep citrus fruits in the fridge if we’re not using many/I want them to last longer. I get at least another couple of weeks that way.

My favourite thread of the year!

Shopping just delivered and I'm off to brave the rain for the bits that didn't come.

Our Christmas fridge so far, the door is filled with milk and cheese!

Bottom shelf is being kept free for the turkey/beef/sausages/bacon etc I'm getting from the butchers tomorrow.

The freezer below this fridge is full but we also have another freezer which we barely used so I defrosted it last week and it's now being used as storage for all the alcohol and snacks, as and when drinks need to be properly chilled they can be moved into the fridge.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 23/12/2022 12:16

Argh pic wouldn't attach

I love seeing other Christmas fridges! Here is ours, just me DH and DD2 this year. So I have a chicken in the freezer and will do a roast. We seem to have an enormous amount of cheese!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Here’s mine! Would usually be Prosecco but I’m 37 weeks pregnant so not this year! Still need to get bits to make sausage rolls…

I've got a big order coming tomorrow from Ocado with everything in bar the turkey, which is being picked up today. In the meantime this is the crisp cupboard. It's high up if the angle is confusing. In my defence there will be teens attending. It's quite deep so there are twiglets and nuts at the back.

Have my extra veggies and drinks in the garage fridge.

Both of our fridges here. Little fridge needs a bit of a sort out.

Husband has just asked why I'm taking a photo of the fridge....

Just managed to get it all in. The black box on the left is Boxing Day ham, the shelf below has the turkey crown, Heston Blumenthal pigs in blankets and the roasties. The green box on the left is apple crumble and the ones on the right above are stuffing balls. Just realised I haven't managed to get the green beans in the veg drawer!
So much packaging though!

I still have a small list for when I finish work tomorrow, pretty much all fruit such as strawberries and raspberries. I have only made the bottom layer of the trifle so far but have made a lemon Victoria sponge. Not really room for much else now

Turkey is in a bucket of brine in the garage and the booze is in the fridge or outside...

My fridge is no longer shameful. That strange yellow thing is the inside of my Beef Wellington covered in Dijon mustard.
Today I put my butchering skills to the test as I bought an entire fillet of beef wholesale. It’s now cut up into another roast beef joint, several steaks, a beef bourguignon and a tougher bit for pizzaiola. Those should see us well into the New Year…
The Bailey’s is for making a cheesecake (rich? Noooooooo!) and maybe a tiramisù on another day.
I’ve made bolognese sauce for Christmas ravioli (one of which contains a slice of cork, our family tradition from DH’s grandfather) and then my stick-to-your-ribs Boxing Day lasagne. That’s a throwback to when we had different people coming downstairs for lunch with a hangover.
I miss those days but my family’s too far apart and nobody has taken over the custodian role since DM died. She was a Christmas fanatic!
We’ll raise a melancholy glass on Sunday to all those gone.
Happy Christmas to you all!
