What are you getting your husband?

My husband made a comment that he gets the same stuff every year and I should try to think a bit more about what he'd like and he's right. He's very creative and always puts a lot of thought into his presents. I tend to get him new clothes, shoes etc nothing too exciting. We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old so it's always been quite rushed but wanting to make the effort, so maybe if I saw what you're getting your husband I could get some inspiration?

OP posts:

@Sausagedognamedmash can you tell me more about the sherpa lined hoody?

Nothingfree · 02/12/2022 21:18

Some Dior Sauvage that he has wanted a long time.

God, what an entitled comment!

I used to put a lot of thought into presents for my husband but I've come to realise that actually he does want the same thing every year 😆 He wants whiskey. He wants books. He wants something hobby-related (which often he has to basically order himself and say it's from me!)

So this year he's getting whiskey, a book, waterproof socks (for mountain biking) and a Spicery legend box (he loves cooking and I bought him one of these last year and he loved it so I bought another (different) one). Don't fix what ain't broke!

Yeah but… OP’s husband isn’t happy with what he gets, and OP says while he is imaginative with her, she isn’t with him..

I don’t think it’s entitled to say what you want in a relationship, it’s good communication.

Your situation is different obviously.

Bean to cup coffee maker - He currently has a Tassimo but has been looking to upgrade a while now.

A new Combi Drill Kit - his last one died a couple of months ago and he is desperate for a new one (not sure why as he hardly does DIY 🤦🏼‍♀️)

A new pair of Nike joggers.

A new pair of lounge pants. Not something he usually wears but thought he may like!

Will probably get him some coffee beans, so when he sets his machine up we can both taste test.

Might also get him some standard chocolates and smellies as I do every year!

Topbird29 · 02/12/2022 21:20

Mostly get what I know he likes, unless he ask specified something particular.
Whisky -one i know he likes, and is a bit more expensive. Books - from sci fi authors he likes. Craft beers. Surprise this year is fir cones that are meant to burn different colours on firepir etc. Will give him an excuse to burn something!

MuckyPlucky · 02/12/2022 21:34

We spend about £100 on eachother.

This year he’s getting:

Some rare vinyl records he’s been wanting.
A Makita coffee machine he was dropping hints about in the summer.
Some marzipan (like every year).

PolkaDotMankini · 02/12/2022 21:44

A running backpack
A reflective base layer for running
Some posh button-down shirts
A mycelium t-shirt from the BBC
A stocking of bits: charcoal marshmallows (coal), a chocolate heart, a book and some socks

Not terribly exciting but I know he'll like and use them.

Jog suit, aftershave, latest fifa game, new wallet, smellies x 2 and will follow up with chocs.

I usually get him similar stuff every year, but he never needs or wants anything.
last year I got him a really nice pair of trainers but he has just got himself some.
He really likes the sauvage dior but I couldn’t stretch to that this year.

caramac04 · 02/12/2022 22:21

Two tickets for a gig so I can go too
Impact screwdriver which I know he wants
I will get some chocolate and maybe some new gloves and that’s my budget limit reached.
I tend to get practical presents as he’s not materialistic, buys what he wants although very careful with money and we have too much ‘stuff’ to have any more if it’s not useful or consumable

LemonsAndCherries · 02/12/2022 22:24

@Sausagedognamedmash I'd like to know more about the goody too please! Smile

My DH is a nightmare to buy for but he might like that!

Off to google too!

Blankiefan · 02/12/2022 22:37

The best thing I ever bought DH was an Ooni pizza oven. DH loves it and it makes great pizza - bonus!

This year he's getting ear buds, a voucher for a mountain biking coaching session, a gym shirt, a jigsaw and some nice choccies. Feels like a bit of a dull pressie bundle. I'd like to find something cool to add to it.
