Last year I bought a beautiful wreath from
www.dibor.co.uk/sale.html
Today I got 2 garlands half price.
Worth a look as I thought really nice quality.

Thankyou
Just bought a lovely looking wreath . Won't be putting outdoor lights up this year due to fuel prices

TulipVictory · 18/11/2022 11:36

@HalfasleepChrisintheMorning thanks for the reef hint, just bought a reef hanger, four beautiful stockings and stocking hangers too 🙈🙈 my poor bank account

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 18/11/2022 11:45

No idea if it helps anyone but you can get the glossybox advent calendar for £70 using the code GLOSSYNERO at checkout (guess this is via glossybox website code came in an email from caffe nero)

Kracken · 18/11/2022 11:51

I was prompted by a poster on an earlier thread to sign up for the okay beauty box mailing list to get reminded about their back Friday deals. Got the email this morning and ordered three of their boxes (the 'big three bundle') for £95 plus a free gift. I checked the contents first and it's all things that me and my daughters will use, lots are full size and for us it's really good value as I'll use some of the contents for stocking fillers and also wrap up some items in mini-bundles as extra presents for other relatives and friends. Here's the deal

think these threads are rubbing off on me, just 'argued' with Moo {printing company} over justifying the cost of their business cards and got £10 off!

want to get a lava lamp for DD but the 'original' amazing Ines are £60 upwards... that's not my budget unfortunately. John Lewis has some for £30ish and I thought surely they'd be okay but the reviews are a bit hit and miss Anyone know where else? or have a JL one and think its just fine? Bit worried about them getting overly hot!?

We have a Mathmos one which I love, but be aware of the energy costs.

They do, of course, have to get hot as that is what makes them work. I think ours is 60W, and I used to have it on a timer coming on from 4pm until midnight through the winter. On current tariffs that about £6 per month.

WaitWhatOh · 18/11/2022 12:05

@user143677433 ah of course the cost of running it...never twigged. totally cant afford a beautiful mathmos one sadly.

Itsallyellow22 · 18/11/2022 12:07

@1stTimeMama The llama lego is £86.24 at John Lewis

user143677433 · 18/11/2022 12:08

@WaitWhatOh yeah, mine was a present for a big-birthday and now is sitting forlorn and unlit.

How about one of the low-energy alternatives? Bubble lamp? Glitter lamp? Star projector?

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 18/11/2022 12:09

@slithytoveisascientist
I can send you this if any good. A plain ribbon and the outer wrapper the Oodie came in, although it doesn’t say Oodie any where on the bag. It wasn’t sealed so you could stuff it in and seal it up.

Rubyroo73 · 18/11/2022 12:11

@WaitWhatOh I got my tween one from Argos last year. It was a bargain at £5 in the sale but still have others for £20-£30.

She has been pleased with it. lavalamp

user143677433 · 18/11/2022 12:11

@WaitWhatOh we have this star projector which also doubles as a lamp, and really recommend it

thank you @BloodyMabel that was me!

usernotfound0000 · 18/11/2022 12:24

@WaitWhatOh I've bought DD one from Dunelm, was only £10 and looks nice, obviously not used yet. She won't use it all night so not overly concerned about running costs (although admittedly I hadn't considered it until now!).

onedayatatime73 · 18/11/2022 12:31

Can someone please link me to the Amazon chocolate? I think I'm looking at the wrong thing.

Shutitwierdo · 18/11/2022 12:36

@onedayatatime73 I just put dairy milk into the search bar and looked for the 850g on. It's usually £8.

Changingagain · 18/11/2022 12:38

redjoker that explains why I got several refunds from amazon a while ago, each for about 5p! It was probably last years black friday.

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 18/11/2022 12:39

@buckeejit A few places have a bundle with resident evil reduced to £349.99. We won't let him have that game but is still £50 cheaper than we were going to pay without. I downloaded the John Lewis app and got an additional £10 off so have just paid £339 for the bundle which I'm pretty happy about.

@Howmanysleepsnow your dh is right. We bought a brand new £600 laptop and it still wasn't good enough for gaming (we bought the best in our price range for gaming in the hopes it might work but it ended up just being used for homework) My dc is wanting a gaming PC set up... I've told him he can buy one of those himself lf when he moves out 😅 get the rats!! Apparently they're incredibly smart and easy to train!

@Howmanysleepsnow have either of you tried building one?
