The most remembered present you received as a child

Over 30 years ago my aunt. (Who died a couple of years later age 42) bought me and my siblings a child size porcelain mug. They each had a cartoon drawing on the front and a small corresponding teddy inside. So mine said "I'm a little Angel" and had an Angel doll. The other two said Vampire and Monkey. They all fit our personalities too. I was very quiet.

My dd's would definitely not appreciate them as much as I did however I've looked and cannot see anything similar. I'd love to see a photo of one again.

What's your story?

When I was 8 I wanted a red Phillips Roller ghettoblaster I loved the ad a girl on rollerskates with it on her shoulder! I only wanted a red one. I remember my mum telling me that Santa might not be able to get a red one and I was so upset. I can still remember so vividly walking into the livingroom on Xmas morning and it sitting out on top of all my presents the only one not wrapped in all its redness. I loved that ghettoblaster so much, I taped the charts every Sunday for years. My dad still has it, he used it as part of his speech at our wedding.
Turns out Dixons tracked one down and my young uncle was sent on the train 160 mile trip to go and get it. It was so worth it.

I saw pound puppies in the entertainer the other day! Was very tempted for myself, ummm I mean my daughter

I bought my dds a dog and cat one 5/6 years back. I think Smyths still sell them.

Thanks @ahunf. I saw a Pound Puppy at Tesco recently, but it wasn’t the one with the surprise babies inside. That was super popular as I think you got 2 or 3 tiny puppies with it 🥰
