Thread 9 - the one with stocking fingers

@6poundshower thanks for the title. A stocking finger sounds far too small to fit many bargains in though! 🤣

Apologies for belatedly setting this up - was at a primary tour for potential school for ds and then working. Pesky RL! Hope you can all find me.

Delivery date is after you've added the item to your basket, at the top of the page

If you click the view order button in the confirmation email, you can amend the delivery date
(thank you to the poster who spotted about the 6 weeks)

QVC have a pre launch of their hotel chocolat deal.

Remember £5 off if you are a new customer, referral codes on the referral thread and check top cash back as it can often be generous.

@Chocolateteabag
Please can I have the TU voucher if it's not already gone? It would help a lot!
Thank you.

For all those who missed out on the Vans bargains, I have just bought a gorgeous hoodie from Goose & Gander for a great price. Don't know much about them but will let you know what the quality is like when it arrives. Goose & Gander Hoodie

They don't have trainers but do have some nice T-shirts and sweats too.

roonetta · 04/11/2022 07:27

Also I think this code might get you 10% off but not sure, worth a try

@BeastOfBODMAS. How did you manage to change delivery date after the order was confirmed? I have the email but can't see an option to do this.
Thanks to the OP. This is a great offer

Thank you, that's odd, I don't a delivery date showing under the map. I'll keep checking in case it updates, otherwise it's an early gift for DH!

DS8 has asked for an x box for Christmas. I know absolutely nothing about technology so don’t know what to get. I know he wants to be able to play with his friends online(?) I think and they have series S if that makes a difference? He isn’t bothered about the model but I don’t want to buy one that we can’t get the games he wants for. Also are there any nice bits that would go along with an x box that he’d like?
sorry for all the questions but technology is just not my thing. We’ve been putting off buying anything but he’s feeling left out at school.
To try and be slightly helpful myself I can answer any horse related gift questions if that helps anyone

My 10 year old has an Xbox one and can communicate with all friends and no issues with games. He will need a gaming headset and also Xbox gold to able to play online. We buy the Xbox game pass. Slightly more expensive monthly but they then have access to a library of games to play as well as being able to play online.

I bought it 2 years ago. There was more variety in the type rather than flavour. I'm not doing it this year because too many flavours we wouldn't eat.

Any recommendations for a perfume for an 80 year old lady with dementia? I was hoping for something that might be nostalgic for her but I’ve no idea what she used to wear.
Otherwise something that she might like the smell of but doesn’t look too young would be much appreciated.

ChristmasCwtch · 04/11/2022 08:26

@gobblegobblenibblenibble I’ve just bought my eldest a used Frog bike from eBay. I bought his first Frog bike new, but their price increases over the past couple of years are bonkers, so I was lucky to find a nearly new one on eBay.

I’ve bought a new bell, water bottle and peddles from the Frog website, as those were the only bits looking a bit scuffed. Otherwise it looks new.

Good luck!!

BluOcty · 04/11/2022 08:43

I've found Facebook marketplace to be great for used kids bikes (we've had Squish bikes which are nice but a bit cheaper than Frog or Isla).

Cluckycluck · 04/11/2022 08:44

@gobblegobblenibblenibble

Keep an eye on The Bike Project. They sell refurbished bikes. I managed to get an Isla bike on their that was in really good condition. It had new brakes and peddles. A professionally refurbished bike is a better option than one that looks good but might potentially have an issue secondhand. It benefits the charity too so it is great all round.

Thank you for the smashed grapes tip off. I have a cheese and wine taster on its way a few weeks before Christmas so hopefully the cheese will have time to ripen!

My code is the same as PP's so likely generic FRCW56842Z.

Struggling to keep on top of threads this year - checking in for #9!
I'm not feeling very inspired this year at all, I've got a list of what I want to buy but I think I'll end up with my best bargains around Black Friday.
