@6poundshower thanks for the title. A stocking finger sounds far too small to fit many bargains in though! 🤣

Apologies for belatedly setting this up - was at a primary tour for potential school for ds and then working. Pesky RL! Hope you can all find me.

Craft Gin club sell posh mixers and accompaniments on their website.

BadgerFace · 06/11/2022 19:55

Sorry that should have quoted @NightOwl101’s earlier post!

LemonFrosting · 06/11/2022 20:02

Regarding the space masks, look fantastic have a pack of five for under £10. Unsure how much delivery is though.
I've never heard of these but I'm going to give them a try! Thank you 😊

@Puffalicious thank you! That's a brilliant idea.

Even more affordable is to use the little flavoured 'Options' hot chocolate sachets (think you get Belgian/ mint/ orange/ white/ caramel) and wrap one of those per day in the same brown paper etc.

spiderontheceiling · 06/11/2022 20:05

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile Merlin do a sale every January and it's worth hanging on for that. Unless you go to a Sealife Centre, your DC are very unlikely to be able to use their Merlin pass between Christmas and Jan so it's not as if they're missing out on using it.
One other thing you might want to double check before buying is when Easter falls in 2023 and 2024. If it is late in 2023 and early in 2024, then if you delay buying your passes until just before the start of the Easter holidays in 2023, the pass will cover the 2024 Easter holidays too

Sadly I'm not a new customer to them, but this may help someone else?!

What size rucksack would you get for a 5ft 3 22 year old to take back packing? 65 or 85 litre?
I've seen some good half price deals with Blacks and Mountain Warehouse but I'm clueless.

I'm a 5ft 4 well travelled backpacker. I'd go 85 every time. (It's about distribution of weight) If you can, look at 70+15 by Berghaus. It's a main 70ltr backpack with a removable 15 litre day pack. I bought mine in 2006 and it's still alive and kicking (albeit a bit rough around the edges)

No idea what the prices are like these days, but mine was about £170. Keep an eye on Go Outdoors, Berghaus direct and also Ebay. I used to work for an outdoors company that had an ebay shop and did massive discounts around Black Friday

Rainraingoaway21 · 06/11/2022 20:24

My teen is after some Converse for Xmas. They're about £60 in most places but just happened to find a seller on ebay - brand new in a box for £33! Does anyone know if this is too good to be true? Can pick the size etc so not a one-off item.

NWnature · 06/11/2022 20:26

Can anyone recommend a site where you can design photo gifts directly rather than my buying a frame then printing separately? I want to do some multi aperture ones but need it to be good quality both in terms
of framing and the prints. Thanks in advance!

Also any ideas for my FIL who is literally impossible. Has everything he could ever want, is minimalist and hates clutter, doesn’t drink, doesn’t eat anything unhealthy, hates cooking and has no hobbies. He likes… nuts and very niche luxe japanese clothing shops like Clutch Cafe. I’m going to get him a nice framed family photo but any other ideas appreciated!

I'm looking for recommendations please for a 2 year old, boy, into Toy Story and Cocomelon (whatever that is!!). Due to circumstances, budget is about £10 but if it looks more expensive, that'd be great! Please and thank you!

They had loads of cocomelon stuff in the works a little while ago, only a few bits online now but you might pick up some bargains if you look in store.

They also have a toy story busy book on Amazon. I’m still trying to find someone to buy one of these for as they’ve been mentioned a few times this year, think they look great!

awmum2b · 06/11/2022 20:35

@Blizy sainsbury and Argos have chad valley tots town, my DC has loved these and they have all sorts of different sets, her favourite is the London bus and the plane. You can also find them in great condition on market place and eBay.

Check the converse website's clearance section and sign up to the newsletter. I've bought my husband high tops from there a few weeks ago for £35

I’ve just purchased some converse for £43 from secret sales. I’m sure it was free delivery too.
ebay can be iffy so I wouldn’t take my chances personally x

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 06/11/2022 20:52

@NWnature thanks for posting about the space masks and puzzles, I've just ordered both for my StepMums birthday! She will love them. 😊

OliverBabish · 06/11/2022 20:55

Thank you for this! What a great price.

BeaLola · 06/11/2022 20:56

NWnature for your tricky FIL what about something minimalist from Alessi like their apostrophe orange peeler (if he eats oranges) or the walnut opener ?

Otherwise sone posh consumables like fancy cheeses or port

Oh my gosh, the Aleesi peeler is perfection. He does eat a lot of oranges and I know he has other items from the brand. Genius! Thanks so much

Hi has anyone seen any cheap-ish wrist warmers for a 65 year old? I'm spent a lot already so don't want to go over £10 as I'm not sure she will wear them. I've seen some on Amazon but they look itchy / too short around the wrist. She works from home on a lap top so I thought they would be useful.

Thank you.

I got some super soft ones in Primark but saw some fab ones in m&s

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 06/11/2022 21:14

@spiderontheceiling That is really helpful thank you. We probably won't see grandparents until mid January and they like to hand over gifts personally so makes perfect sense to wait.

If I didn’t know better @RainbowZebraWarrior, I would think you were me. Mine was bought a year or so earlier but would completely concur. The attachable/detachable daybag is excellent.
