@6poundshower thanks for the title. A stocking finger sounds far too small to fit many bargains in though! 🤣

Apologies for belatedly setting this up - was at a primary tour for potential school for ds and then working. Pesky RL! Hope you can all find me.

gavisconismyfriend · 06/11/2022 14:44

@sorryiasked thank you so much for trying! Unfortunately the knitted ones on this site are acrylic. I may have to learn to knit/crochet and make one myself!!

This thread is fantastic, thank you!

Does anyone have any thoughts about advent calendars being reduced nearer the beginning of December?

I'd really like to get DH a coffee bean one, and DS a hot chocolate one but I don't really have the budget for them.

I know it kind of misses the point but I'm tempted to see if any of them get reduced into December.

I bought DH a craft beer advent calendar on 1st Dec last year and it was heavily reduced. I wouldn't have afforded it at full price. I'll be trying to do the same thing again this year. Its probably worth waiting to see what deals you can get!

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 06/11/2022 14:56

@lifelongfrugaleer country living tickets

ilisten2theradio · 06/11/2022 15:06

I have a 20euro voucher for a 40 euro spend on zemove.de it says its personalised but I'm not going to use it its maybe worth someone trying?
I bought DH a microscope thing that connects to your mobile last year. The site itself is good and I had no issues with the company.
Some of the stuff is already on sale.
If anyone wants to try my one off code it is MCG20JG

I found one…but it’s £75! Slenderella do a cotton one if that’s an option?

I thought they would have stopped people using the code by now. Strange. Surely they can't fulfil all the orders they will be bankrupt?

Actually I think they have been very clever. They have got people all hyped up over what is essentially a box of samples. They get their name out there, people are more likely to use them again at full price, the people getting the gifts will then also use the “£10 voucher” which has a minimum spend, etc.

I think it’s like those ones where you get “£75 off a case of wine” via leaflets packaged in with Boden/Seasalt etc. I don’t think the Smashed Grapes code was a “glitch” at all. I think it was done for marketing hype. People get excited at a bargain, but if they literally gave it away free there would be less interest because no perceived value.

ahunf · 06/11/2022 15:36

@UserNameNameNameUser do you think they were not £26 to start with?

I’m looking to spend about £15 on a 16 year old girl if anyone has suggestions? She had a voucher for her birthday in August and last Christmas was make up so trying to get something different.

Lots of teens I know are into crystals and horoscopes. You can get some cool bits in AliExpress if you type either of those things in

redjoker · 06/11/2022 15:43

My M&S card app had free chocolate cookies today FYI

I agree or it’s a scam 3 x £3.99 per person who used diff email addresses all add up!

Sorry to do this but someone posted a remote control car a few threads back that they recommended, said it had been ok outside and been rammed into many walls and survived or similar. Does anyone remember which one is was please? I was sure I screenshotted it but can't find it now.

Tryingmyb3st · 06/11/2022 16:05

My kid's new obsession is football. Not the game, but the more expensive hobby of collecting football shirts.
www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk has loads of old season shirts from UK and international teams really cheap. Also loads of team socks and accessories from 99p.

Does anyone have a discount fir the Naked Marshmallow advent calendar? I'm think DD15 might like one. Her DF got her the usual candy kittens one I buy each year so now I'm stuck! She doesn't really want a specific calendar so it's up to me to decide on the perfect one 😉🤣

I got my DC's these calendars from a site called Anorakonline last year which had a 15 or 20% sign up discount - free postage too I think. My two loved them - great range of flavours.

gavisconismyfriend · 06/11/2022 16:12

Thank you @BloodyMabel hadn’t found that one!

Does anyone know if Dryrobe ever do Black Friday? Or of a discount? This is a treat for me. Just drowned myself at DS' rugby and would like to keep my legs dry next time!

I bought cheaper ones on Amazon think they were £80 and I used them for me and my ds for rugby.

onedayatatime73 · 06/11/2022 16:15

Candles direct have a massive discount on their mystery box. (But it describes contents). And if you sign up you get an extra 10% off.

LeatherJacketWedding · 06/11/2022 16:31

Thank you for the tickets @Reastie
my daughter and I had a fabulous time -productive but expensive! Much better than the awful Ideal Home one. We picked up the tea-set no problems and it’s lovely. The man on the stand was also really lovely 😊 Thank you again

ChristmasCwtch · 06/11/2022 16:45

Just received my 15% discount card for White Company. Welcome to use it. Valid till 17th January.

Theimpossiblegirl · 06/11/2022 16:46

What size rucksack would you get for a 5ft 3 22 year old to take back packing? 65 or 85 litre?
I've seen some good half price deals with Blacks and Mountain Warehouse but I'm clueless.

user1466167893 · 06/11/2022 16:52

@Theimpossiblegirl if possible it would be better to take them to the shop. It's best to get measured and some makes suit better than others, I have quite wide shoulders but am short and needed a totally different brand to my husband. Could you take the recipient, narrow down makes and then look for bargains?
