Thread 9 - the one with stocking fingers

@6poundshower thanks for the title. A stocking finger sounds far too small to fit many bargains in though! 🤣

Apologies for belatedly setting this up - was at a primary tour for potential school for ds and then working. Pesky RL! Hope you can all find me.

If only we were still in October - The Spidery Discount would’ve been a perfect thread title for Halloween 😄

ahunf · 06/11/2022 12:01

Ah I feel sick, hate spiders!! 😂😬

mummyof2boys30 · 06/11/2022 12:04

Does anyone have the joules boot slippers. Just put a hole in my old faithful totes isotoner ones. Are they a good solid sole? And true to size. Thanks

Has anyone seen plain/ one-could satin (or satin-like) PJs? I would like to get some for DD, who either takes age 14 or size 6. I can only find floral/stripy or themed PJs!

Have you looked at ASOS? I think there’s a 20% discount code at the moment.

snowmanshoes · 06/11/2022 12:14

Lipsy and Victoria Secret are good for these (satin pjs) and you should find both on next website

LemonFrosting · 06/11/2022 12:30

Kind of off topic, but I did get it for a bargain price!! How long do toiletries last please sealed? Bought a gift set but not sure if safe to use? Says 24 months on the package but that's once opened. All toiletries have a protective seal on. Don't want to gift if it'll be dodgy, I'll use myself instead!

BlahBlah36 · 06/11/2022 12:32

Not particularly Christmas gift themed but if you’re doing outdoor Christmas events, Matalan have their thermals reduced (womens, mens and kids t shirt ones still in stock this morning) and you can get an extra 20% off with code WINTER20.

Summertime16 · 06/11/2022 12:34

Can I say a massive thank you to the OP of the smashed grapes bargains. Only paid P&P. Also to the OP who has posted about the Agatha Christie book on Amazon today.

Freakingflies · 06/11/2022 12:52

Bit of a random one - my DD has decided she’d like a metal detector. Any ideas where to look?
She’s 9 so I guess I don’t want anything too childish, but apart from that I’ve got no idea!

Rainraingoaway21 · 06/11/2022 13:02

@FluffyCat17 Primark have some dupes of Victoria Secrets satin pjs. Tricky finding the size you want in store though we found as so popular.

Does anyone have a discount fir the Naked Marshmallow advent calendar? I'm think DD15 might like one. Her DF got her the usual candy kittens one I buy each year so now I'm stuck! She doesn't really want a specific calendar so it's up to me to decide on the perfect one 😉🤣

I don't have a discount but will say I had their calendar year before last and was very underwhelmed by it. It only had about 4 different flavour of marshmallow on rotation and some of them weren't nice (gingerbread flavour I think was bad).

yoshiblue · 06/11/2022 13:16

Rummikub on Amazon for £12

I thought they would have stopped people using the code by now. Strange. Surely they can't fulfil all the orders they will be bankrupt?

gavisconismyfriend · 06/11/2022 13:26

Request from elderly relative for a bed jacket, wants wool (knitted or crochet fine) but with buttons rather than a ribbon tie at the neck. Can only find ones that meet either the wool or button requirements. Can anyone help?!

This thread is fantastic, thank you!

Does anyone have any thoughts about advent calendars being reduced nearer the beginning of December?

I'd really like to get DH a coffee bean one, and DS a hot chocolate one but I don't really have the budget for them.

I know it kind of misses the point but I'm tempted to see if any of them get reduced into December.

Not sure if you'd be up for this, but I'm doing a home-made hot-choc one for DS10. I bought this set of little boxes in B&M for £5 (bought 2) and I'm going to wrap each one in brown paper with a number on (and little message/ task for the day e.g. 10 days to go/ watch a Xmas movie today/ remember to write your cards). Works out at £10.

@Puffalicious would he like a bloom and wild tiny tree? They are lovely and your kids could help him pot and decorate it. If he puts it outside for the year then can bring it in year on year. We love ours.

I've put my referral code over on the referrals thread that will get you £10 off.

I'll have a look! Thanks for thinking of me.

Thanks everyone for advice on woolovers, looking at reviews, they are made in China not the uk as implied and the quality does not live up to the price. I'm basically looking for this jumper, in an adult size without the buttons if anyone has any ideas?

@puffalicious, im
a but new here and can’t find the referral thread! I’d love to use your Joules code, would you mind letting me know where I can find it please?
@delahot have you looked at my Christmas pyjamas? They have some styles like this.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 06/11/2022 14:08

Thought of some more. I went a bit feminist so Margaret Atwood and Fay Weldon.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 06/11/2022 14:08

@Freakingflies I bought this for DD last year

Deal: DR.ÖTEK Metal Detector for Kids, Junior Metal Detector with Exclusive DISC/Pinpoint Mode, Touch Screen, 71-94 cm Adjustable Stem, Waterproof Coil, LED Display & Buzzer, Lightweight, Easy to Use https://amzn.eu/3KwjTwL

Hopefully that link works

shash1982 · 06/11/2022 14:08

For the poster looking for satin pyjamas.

A good, cheap victoria secrets dupe is primark.
Alternatively asos had satin pyjamas & there is 20% off with the code TWENTY.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 06/11/2022 14:09
